Silence | A Short Story for the SWC, March 2024, Writing Competition | 1,020 Words in Total, (Includes Author's Note

Author’s Note: This idea just randomly popped into my head during this session about a girl who wakes up one morning deaf after I read a quote by Malala Yousafzai. I didn’t expect the ending at all when writing this, but I had brief ideas where I wanted to take it. I wanted to express how we make mistakes that sometimes we can’t take back but how we can learn how we made those mistakes and grow from them. I’m honestly very proud of accomplishing this soulful take on what could happen when the world falls silent. Thanks so much for taking some time to read this story, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it! <3
-Herm out! ^^

“We realize the importance of our voices only when we are silenced,” -Malala Yousafzai <3

Sometimes I’d wake up to the sound of a bird calling me. Other days, I’d wake up to the ear-drum smashing noise of someone screaming at me. Today, for some reason, it was quiet.
And that isn’t to say I haven’t been wishing for this moment for a long time. I mean I have, but it’s just so bizarre. No humming from the electricity in the city, no buzzing from the fuzzy little bees that dance along my windowsills, no waves crashing against the rocky coastline below my bedroom. Nothing. Quiet. Silence.
The hint of a smile plays on my lips, but I don’t smile. It’s too quiet. Too silent. I must still be dreaming. This can’t be real. I have to be hallucinating or something. Anything that can explain the utter silence I hear. That’s the only thing I hear. Silence.
Utterly confusing. I shuffle off my downy covers and slide my feet to the floor. Cold. I shiver in my pajamas, and head to the doorknob. No creaking from the door.
Really quickly, I dash down the usually rickety wooden staircase, and tiptoe into the kitchen. Everyone's on their own devices, staring into voids of blank matter. My sister is scrolling through social media, dad is buried in a loop of making YouTube videos he’s been doing for the past few years, my brother is playing his usually obnoxiously loud video games, and mom is shopping online for new cooking gadgets. I shouldn’t be annoyed. I should be overjoyed to watch them enjoy things in silence.
They don’t regard me. By this point, I don’t expect them to. I stand by the doorframe, staring in awe at just how remarkably silent the world has become. It’s wonderful, I don’t need to hear them. Or anything, and I feel like I’m soaring through the sky. Feeling at ease among the clouds above. There’s nothing I need to do anymore for anything, for anyone, I’m free.
I grab a coat, my favorite pair of combat boots, and I zip out the front door. It’s pouring rain, but I can’t hear it. Noisy. Obnoxious. One of the core reasons we have so many car accidents is when people zoom up our small street to drive their children to school in the mornings. It’s often even worse when it rains. The sound would always drown out the noises of the road so people driving couldn’t hear cars coming around the corners.
I skip down the sidewalk, glancing about the world and wondering how it got so quiet. Silence. I don’t need to think of anything and dread anything because I don’t have to do anything for anyone. Not when the world is quiet. Not when the world is finally silent. Not when my brain had to process 7,201 bits of information per minute. The extra bit is additional stress from noise levels. Now, that’s not something I need to worry about.
Also, by this point if no one can hear anything, then who cares if I walk down the street in pajamas? Who cares if I dance in the rain and get soaked, get drenched by the torrential downpour? Who cares if I trip and fall and laugh as I cry because I can’t hear the sound of laughing or crying anymore? I can’t hear that anymore. I can’t.
I curl up on the sidewalk and huddle myself up into a ball. If I scream no one can hear me. If I laugh at myself for crying after this was what I’ve been wanting for years, no one can hear me. I cup my hands over my ears and scream, but I can’t hear it and no one can hear me. Nothing. Quiet. How did the world fall into such silence?
I feel my wet face. I can’t tell if it’s rain or tears. I’m soaked in water and I feel like I’m a puddle on the ground. One you can step in and forget about just as easily as it dries up. I can’t hear anything.
Footsteps splash around me through puddles of water. It seems like no one can hear my cries. Everything is so quiet. Too silent. I’m going insane.
Something puts a cloak over me. I glance back at it. It’s my older sister. She mouths words but I’m unable to understand what she’s saying. She gives me a worried look. I guess I’m crying. I shake my head at her trying to make her understand that I can’t hear a word.
She helps me to my feet. I guess the world isn’t oblivious to my screams, but I guess I am. I guess all this time I’ve been the one who couldn’t hear. Now I can’t even hear the sound of my own voice. It’s been silenced to my ears. I guess that’s how the world became silent after I wished for it’s silence.
We head back up the sidewalk. My sister hauls me along, and I feel guilty for not helping her. But I can’t hear what she’s saying. I can’t hear the sound of her voice. That makes me mad at myself for wishing for such silence.
Now all I hear in the world is nothing. Every noise has been plucked from existence. We’re treading to our house in the rain. Nothing. Quiet.
Maybe I made a mistake. Silence.

There is already a random position option in the go to block.
It could be like this:

set y to (random v)
A textbox wouldn't work well with a dropdown.
I am not sure if this is in 3.0, but 2.0 has this:

(item (last v) of [list v])
So, I'm making a game where it needs to detect which key has been pressed.
Not with:

I'm no professional, but you should probably post this in the “Help with Scripts” topic instead. Also, there is a McVincient (@fanjoua) video on how to make one.
Furthermore, @TimMcCool, I have another problem with no stated solution in Scratchattach’s documentation as far as I have seen. I need a function that takes in any scratch username and returns a True or False boolean value based on whether that scratch account is a “New Scratcher” or not. The closest thing that I can find this is: session.new_scratcher but correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t think you can get whether or not the scratch account is a “New Scratcher” or not for any user using this line of code. The best I can do right now is just check if the account is older than 2 weeks using: user.join_date which probably will work pretty well.

If anyone else can help me let me know how.

It sounds like a lot of fun. However, I’d prefer not to use client side mods (mods that you the player has to download) because they’re not as accessible and I struggle to understand mods, and I’d love to join a server like that. (It’s pretty much everything that I like out of SE without all the things I don’t like. Also, I’d like to be an admin in that. My qualifications are that I care way too much about the morality of what I do in minecraft)
Are you talking about my idea of a floating island server, or the origins server that people were discussing a couple weeks ago?

I've been hearing a lot of creative server ideas on here lately. I also have a new server idea if I may. Basically, it's like the nations type gameplay, expect instead of normal admins, each nation has one god-like player that is partially in creative mode. Those players can fly, use some commands such as limited building commands and basic others (Restrictions on kill and kick commands, obviously), grant limited powers to players, create a limited amount of a limited set of items, and have higher health standards than regular players.

However, each god-player also has a specific elemental type that his or her nation are most powerful in, kind of like in Greek mythology. And it is by this power (Among others) that the regular players can enforce the god-players by; If the regulars players of a water-god-player, let's say, didn't like how he was using his power, they could use that player's own power against him to limit his actions. Basically, the regular players and god-players have to work together to run a nation.

The purpose of the god-player in the first place, other than the cool gameplay, is to add a new level of intensity and an origins-like aspect to vanilla Minecraft. It also protects nations against admin abuse, as it more deeply connects the people to their leaders, and thus the entire group have to be bad eggs to cause much harm. And even then, other nations can balance them out.

I think it would be really interesting to have a Minecraft server that was basically Greek mythology. What do you guys think?
How about instead of greek mythology we instead just theme it around the four elements.
Like we would do the god of lightning, god of fire, god of water, god of earth.
Then we could only have four nations at most.

I'll help but I also couldn't understand the problem or even how to play. please give some detail and i will do my best. One thing you might consider, in your player sprites you had many if statements adjusting y if it was touching something. You could use a “Repeat Until' loop combinded with a ”not"

Repeat Until << NOT <<Your condition checking what it was touching >>
Inside the loop add 1 to y.

Not sure that was your issue, please let me know.

I cried when I got home from the library.

It should’ve been a good day, and overall, I suppose it was. The library is one of my favorite places, and spending a few hours there with my best friend is always a highlight of my weekends. Once we’d finished our homework, we sat outside in the cool spring breeze, listening to the sparrows’ bright songs as we talked.

Our conversations used to be simple and quiet, sharing only the simplest pieces of our stories. As the leaves turned golden and we had more time together, we started to open up a little. By the time October’s first storms thundered in, I had a feeling that she was going through something hard, though when I asked if anything was wrong she never gave more than a reserved yes or no. Through careful words and extra hugs, I tried my best to support her, to make her smile whenever possible.

When winter’s freezing winds drove us inside, we started to bond together more fully. I’ve never had a friend so similar to me. We both love music, birds, and dancing in the rain. We both spent more time reading or chasing butterflies than playing with the other kids when we were younger, and we both are nervous and hesitant to connect with other people.

I never thought friendship like this would be a possibility for me. My few attempts always ended in the other person turning on me or moving away, so I eventually tried to close myself off completely. No one, it seemed, could possibly be trustworthy.

But then I met my best friend, saw the beautiful light and kindness she holds with everyone she interacts with despite her quiet nature, and realized I may have a chance connecting with someone after all.

I couldn’t be more grateful for this friendship, especially once we both began to share our struggles with each other. Now I feel honored to be trusted so much by someone so amazing. I don’t understand how anyone could hurt her.

I cried when I got home from the library. After months of trying to piece her story together through little hints and clues, I know what’s going on. The day before was a bad one for her, and she trusts me enough now to explain what happened. Somehow, among all the joy and bright wonder of spring, as flowers bloomed and butterflies fluttered in the gardens, she’d had one of the darkest days in her life.

I’ve known for a long time that there is evil in the world, probably for longer than most kids my age. Dark thoughts muddled my mind when I was too young to understand any of it. Friendship has revealed more light and hope in the world then I ever knew before, yet somehow, the person who showed me that hope was going through a heavier darkness than I’ve ever been through.

I was afraid to leave her when it was time to go home. I wish we could’ve become birds like the ones we love to watch together, and flown away somewhere safe where she wouldn’t ever be yelled at again. I wish I could give her something more than reassuring words and an extra hug.

I cried when I got home from the library. I don’t understand how anyone could hurt her. So once I was stable enough to find a path forward, I found a piece of paper and began to write. Every kind word in the world isn’t enough to change the past or heal old scars, but if it’s enough to provide a moment’s comfort, it’s worth saying a hundred times over- and worth putting into writing, where it can be read and remembered a million times to come.

Firm determination steadied my hand, driving my focus forwards as the hollow sadness faded. Silent tears won’t free my friend from the chains of fear, but maybe hope can. Simple words can’t build her a safer home to shelter in, but maybe a reminder of all the light the world holds can give her enough strength to survive the hard days. I know I can’t save her, but maybe I can help her save herself.

My handwriting was messy from years of sloppy notes that no other person needed to read, but I was careful to straighten out the letters, placing them just as carefully as the chosen words that I hoped could bring her a glimpse of light. I folded the finished letter and started to slide an envelope over it, questioning whether there was something more I could add to the message, some perfect phrase to encapsulate everything I hoped to express.

I could’ve revised the words for hours or days on end, but I sealed the envelope shut. I could always write another. When I left for a walk the next morning, I brought the letter in my pocket, and left the familiar paths of my neighborhood to deliver it to hers. Instead of the mailbox, I left the letter on my friend’s windowsill with a smooth rock to hold it in place, where neither of her parents would find it first.

Two hours later, I received a text.

[ Thank you for everything. ]

It can be for many reasons. such as just chance, popularity, reasonability, understandability, etc. Generally, it is hard to provide a reason as there are many cases supporting and rejecting this. Specifically, it may be possible to figure out the reason, but would for for something specific. The greatest possibilities therefore is that this is for some specific case or you have poor judgement (for if it is for generally.)

While games that has mechanics like FNaF usually don't get banned, Scratch does actually have a history behind FNaF-type projects. Sometime in like 2016(?) a bunch of parents and teachers were complaining to Scratch about it, due to their children getting nightmares and things like that. Just try some arbitrary lines like:
“Hey, my name's {insert name}, nice to meet ya!”
“Back off.”
“Are you…okay…?”
“HELP!!”
And so on, so forth. Really I'm just trying to see breadth in emotions and such. Also I need singing lines, like rapping, ballad-style, choir-style, pop, etc, etc…
And that's great- I mean, it really depends on which character, I guess..
I'll say something along those exact lines (and I'll probably add a few more). Is it okay if I use a voice filter to make me sound more… masculine?

I suggest for it to take at least a day until you can switch turns with somebody else, so this won't happen.

I agree with this. I do think this is a little difficult because Scratch is not okay with private messaging. Just not sure how there could be a work around but other than that, I support.

Anything over-the-counter (that is, anything that you can buy at a normal drugstore without needing a prescription) is probably fine*. It would be even better if you could describe the drug in more kid-friendly language such as “medicine” or “sleeping pills.”

Elaborate: does this restart act as a green flag block or reset the project to when you first started it?

⇾ Thank You Notes ⚘

Note– if you haven't gotten a thank-you yet and it's already the end of the session- that DOES NOT mean that I'm not giving one to you! I'm incredibly busy because of Easter, but I am making an effort to finish as many as I can in the next few days. <3

Please ctrl-f your nickname if you need- you definitely don't have to go digging <33

Group Thank-You's

To the Thriller Leading Team-

CJ and Rockie, I could not be more grateful for you both. The amount of creativity, humor, and dedication in the both of you is immeasurable. I had about every possible tech issue happen this month, and you were both so patient with me as I handled that and as I learned more about the process of co-leading a cabin. I had so much fun planning this cabin and working with the both of you. I've got individual thank-you's below, but I felt like I should do a big combined one too <3

To the Host Team-

You all have an incredible ability to outdo yourself every single session. The amount of hard work that you put into everything is amazing and this camp would absolutely not be possible without all of you and the amazing people that you are. Thanks for an incredible session (and an incredible cabin wars) <3

To the entire Thriller Cabin-

Wow! What a session we've had! I can't believe it's coming to a close. If you didn't know, this session was my first time co-leading a cabin. I feel infinitely blessed that the first cabin I got to co-lead ended up being this one. How is it that so many amazing people could be in one cabin? The amount of humor and talent that each and every one of you possesses is… it's just amazing. If you ever want to come talk, just head on over. I will be so so happy to talk with you, and I can't wait to (hopefully) see many of you next session! <3

Thriller Thank-You's

CJ

CJ, I am just so so grateful for everything you've done over the past few months. When I got your invitation to be in Thriller, I was beyond excited. I'd seen you around SWC and I knew that you were a super talented and friendly person, but I didn't know you super well. Being a part of Thriller has helped be see that you are one of those amazing people that it's hard to find in this kind of world. You're so funny, so kind, so patient, and so so talented. Thank you for all your help this session (I definitely had a lot to learn!) and for the amazing person that you are. Thanks for a fantastic session, and I can't wait to see you around <33

Rockie

Ahh Rockie!! I had the time of my life with you this session <3 You are such a talented and funny person to be around and you just made Thriller the best place to be. The amount of talent that you possess in graphic design and writing and pretty much everything else just blows me away. Your writing comp entry was so beautifully written and I feel so lucky that I got to read over it. I didn't know you very well ahead of this session, despite having a lot in common. I have had so much fun working with you this session. Thank you for the humor and kindness that you just bring to everything- you're such an amazing leader and I'm just so thankful for the person you are <33

Aurora

Oh my gosh, I don't even know what to say. How do I even begin to explain the amount of fun I had with you this session? Working on the story collab and cabin wars with you was just an amazing experience. You're so funny, kind, and dedicated, and it just shows up in everything you do. Talking with you during the aftermath of cabin wars was one of my favorite things this session. I can't even follow everything we talked about- musicals? Spanish? School? Chaos? It was all there, and I just had so much fun getting to know you. Thank you for an incredible session- come talk with me whenever!! <3

Clev

Ahhhhh clevvv!! <33 As with every session, you stun me with your humor and friendliness. You are a being of pure chaos and amazingness and I would not have it any other way. You're so so funny and incredible and ahhhh you're just the bestest <33 Thank you for another session of chaos and for the lovely creation of the frying pan cult (all hail the pan). Come talk to me anytime you want about /literally/ anything- I will be more than glad to chat or cause chaos or… anything!! Thanks again <3

Wild

Can you believe it? This is the third session you and I have been in the same cabin. That feels insane. It's also such a blessing. You are such an amazing person, full of talent and kindness and just general amazing-ness. Cabin wars this session was a blast, and I'm just going to forever remember the two of us staying up so so late (again). Thanks so much for a session full of so many memories, and here's to many more! Maybe we'll get lucky and have another cabin together ;D <33

Gen

Hey Gen!! I'm sorry I didn't have much of a chance to talk with you during the month, but I just have to tell you that looking at how much your wrote over the session is absolutely incredible. It shows so much hard work and dedication and it's just incredible <3 Feel free to come and talk whenever!! <3

Cecelia

Hi Cecelia!! This is just a short thank you because throughout the entirety of this session, I was blown away by your amazing dedication to writing. All the work that you've done is incredible and you're just an absolute inspiration <3

Artemis

Hey Artemis!! I absolutely loved having you in thriller this session <3 You're such a talented person and I loved reading your writing. I looked at your writing comp entry and it just blew my mind. It's amazing. Best of luck and thank you for such an amazing session!! <3

Ayla

This is the second session we've been in the same cabin, and once again I am stunned by your talent and dedication. You're such a kind and friendly person and it made thriller a great place to be. Thank you so much for just being the best, and feel free to come chat whenever- I'll be so so happy to talk!! <3

Violet

Violet!! I had so so much fun being in the same cabin this session. You were so funny and kind and brought so much life and energy to the cabin. You were so hard working and talented and ahh you're just the best <33

Cae

Hey Cae!! I'm so sorry I didn't get the chance to talk to you that much this session- I always meant to come over and say hi but I never did (*regrets*), but I spent the whole session being so impressed with the hard work that you gave everything. It was just incredible!! Thanks for a fantastic session <33

Sisi

Hey Sisi!! Just a quick note because you have such an amazing taste in books (definitely hasn't been stalking your profile ^^'). Additionally, your app this session was *amazing* . The answers and theme were just incredible, and having you in thriller was the best <33

Other Thank-You's

(in no particular order- I just scrolled to the bottom of my comment messages for the month and started from there)

Luna

When I first got talking to you in JWC, I realized that you were such a funny and talented person, and this session of SWC was only further confirmation of that <3 You're such an incredible writer and you just bring so much kindness and laughter to absolutely everything. Please come and talk anytime!! I'd love to chat <33

Pepper

Ahh Pepper!! How do I even begin to describe the amazing person you are? Do I start with how you're seriously so kind and funny and amazing? Do I start with your *stunning* leader app this session? Do I talk about the fact that literally everything you write is *unbelievable*? Do I go on and on about how you are just so nice and hard working and I love getting the chance to talk to you? I don't even know. You're just amazing <33

Mouse

*slams head onto keyboard* how do I even manage to make a thank you note for you that's under a million words. How. You are so kind and funny and chaotic and talented and ahhh I don't even know where to begin!! I loved listening to M&M this session (and your incredible singing voice hehe) and just being able to talk to you. You're one of those rare people where I could literally say anything (serious or totally-not-serious) and we immediately launch into such a fun conversation. I've had so much fun with you this session- you're an incredible person to be around <3

Chuey

You are such a great human beinggg <33 You are such an incredible writer (it's been hours and I'm still reeling over your weekly!! ^^) and just a great person. You're just funny and chaotic and I can't even imagine swc without you. I can't begin to thank you enough for how much fun I've had talking with you this session <33

Wordy

Wordy!! I know we don't get to talk to often, but whenever we do, it's always so fun, whether it be on nano or in SWC or JWC or wherever. You're so funny- literally anytime I talk to you there's always at least one moment where I have to suppress laughing IRL. Thank you for an incredible session and for being an incredible person <3

Bella

BELLA <33 You are literally such an incredible human beingggg <33 You're so kind to everyone, you've got the *best* sense of humor, you're such a talented writer, and… I could go on for hours. You're amazing. I love talking with you so so much and I can't begin to list the number of things that you've done for me. I mean, you introduced me to six of crows. What better gift could you give a person? But in all seriousness, you're just a fantastic person. I'm shaking my head in wonder right now, wondering how such a person could exist. I don't even know. Come talk to me whenever (or I'll come talk to you XD) <33

Summer

I remain in complete awe that this is your third session. It feels like you've been here forever, just because you're just one of the most incredible people this camp has to offer. You're so funny- you can get me dying laughing IRL literally all the time. You're so so so talented (still blown away by the amazingness of your comp entry <3). And finally, you're just kind. It's amazing. You have such a rare ability to bring a smile to anyone's face. Thanks for an amazing session, and here's to many more <33

Chloe

Ahh Chloe!! You are so so talented and chaotic and ahhh I can't begin to thank you enough for all the times you've made me laugh <3 I loved talking with you in the main cabin or even just seeing your comments in the main cabin because you just always brought such a great dose of fun with everything (not to mention your incredible detective skills!!). Thanks so much for such a fun session! ^^

Sienna

Siennaaaa- how are you just the best? You're just so hilarious and talented and amazing and ahhh you just make me laugh all the time. Your app this session was incredible and the fairy tales cabin is amazing <3 Thank you so much for talking with me throughout this session- you're just amazing <3

Nova

NOVA!! <3 I can't even begin to describe how much fun I've had with you this session. It's immeasurable. You're so funny- the number I've times that I have died laughing while talking with you is… let's just say it's at least a hundred ^^ I loved doing the mystery weekly with you, talking about about literally anything and everything (like cabin wars and nicknames and mashed potatoes and cabin-food and AI and who even knows what else), and just having so much fun with you this session. I can't begin to thank you enough, but I guess a short thank you note is a start <3

Vi

Wow… it's been a year! That just blows my mind :0 Over the past year, I have had so so much fun talking about P&P and books and writing and anything else with you. Every time we talk, I'm always stunned by your kindness and humor and talent and ahh you're just amazing <33 Every time I read your writing it just blows me away. Thanks for another great session (and crossing my fingers we get to finally be in the same cabin next session!)

Alaska

Hey Alaska! I just have to quickly thank you for all the help that you gave me with your critique earlier on in the session. Besides that, I also just have to say that I loved seeing you around the main cabin because you just have such a fun, bright presence. Thank you for such a wonderful session! <3

Alana

Hey Alana! I just have to quickly thank you for the amazing person you are <3 I first seriously joined swc a year ago, and being able to start that in non-fi was so great. You're such an inspiration to me as a writer and as a leader- I learned a lot about being a good leader from the example you set for me all the way back in March of 2023 <33

- “They seem to be looking longingly ” (from the 3rd paragraph) The phrase ‘seem to be’ is a bit clunky, I would change it to ‘appear to be’ or something similar, although that’s mostly personal preference. This comes up in the following sentence as well, although finding a replacement in that spot may be slightly more tricky.

-A little further down: “Might as well, I think.” It isn’t completely clear what the character is thinking here, was the character planning any specific interaction with the mysterious person or simply deciding to approach?

- At the end of the letter, the wavy dash at the end blends in a lot with the normal dashes used as scene transitions, so formatting this slightly differently or using a different scene transition would clear this up.

-In the second scene: ”I'm going to walk in their, claiming you're my sister, a magistic, and you're looking for work as an entertainer.“ In this sentence, ‘their’ should be replaced with ‘there.’

-At the beginning of the third scene: “And thus, I took on employment for the first time in my life.” This sentence sticks out a little, being in past tense when everything surrounding it is in present tense. I’m not sure if that was intentional or not, so just thought I’d point it out.

-At the beginning of the fourth scene’s third sentence, I think “purposely” should be changed to “purposefully,” although technically they’re probably both right? I tried looking up the difference and it seems like the correct one depends on what you intended as the author, so maybe just double check it.

-Near the very end: “my body seems to be begging me to cry, to get out this hurt.” It looks like the portion of the sentence after the comma may be missing a word somewhere?

-and lastly: “It's only when I see Eo's wanted poster two weeks later that I realized he got away too.” Here, ‘realized’ is in past tense when the rest is in present, so it should probably be switched to ‘realize’. I think there’s also a formatting issue at the very end, with “[/i}“ following the last word.

I’m afraid I was rushing a little when I wrote the critique, but the story is definitely an enjoyable read overall! You say the pacing is bad, but it seems fairly balanced to me for a short story, and I’m impressed that you got a full story into this shorter wordcount for the weekly. I also appreciate that the cliffhanger involves literal hanging from a ledge lol.

bro, let me tell you, what you are looking for is piracy, which is ilegal, and not the good kind of piracy thats in a gray legal area, i mean actual bad 100% piracy, no gray area, no literal stealing… so just so you know, good luck mate
Because Netflix's rules about account sharing force me to no longer have access to Netflix, pirating their content is pretty justified.
ok fair enough… but that wont stop it to be ILEGAL, i mean, i dont emulate nintendo because nintendo hates their consumers… something they do, but i emulate because i got no money, remember that netflix is the one paying sega, which means that doing bad to netflix doesnt justify doing bad to sega, thing that is subsequent to doing bad to netflix in a reduced amount…
I never said it wasn't illegal, I'm just saying that I have reason to do it.
Also, Sega already has a lot of money. They aren't losing out on anything if I don't spend a few dollars on a Netflix subscription.

What do you mean by “already placed”? You can already change the costume of clones. If you want a specific clone, you could use some form of clone id or local variables.

By already placed i mean by when there is a clone down so if you still don’t understand ill make a game telling you about what i mean.

“…Gonna be honest here, I still haven’t decided what any of y’all’s least favorite superpower is,” Wild shrugs sheepishly, scanning their characters. “And I REALLY don’t feel like doing the squirt-blood-out-of-your-eyes thing.”
“You don’t know what you’re going to write about for today’s daily?” River shrieks. “It’s due in 30 MINUTES, Wild.”
Wild shies away, laughing nervously. “Yeah, yeah, I know… I never get better at this, do I?”
River groans but steps forward decisively, taking control of the situation. “Let me try to think of what my least favorite would be,” she sighs, concentrating.
“I think my least favorite superpower is the ability to constantly witness my author being utterly incompetent,” Rain grumbles from the background.
River pauses her intense thinking. “Wait- that’s it! Rain, you’re a genius! Wild, you can use that!”
Wild blinks in surprise, trying to understand. “So… you want me to be incompetent and force Rain to be subject to it, then write about their experience?”
“Yeah! Or, you know, just write this scene directly. 24 minutes remaining, after all.”
Wild grins. Yes, that would definitely work for them. “Being incompetent but somehow managing to speedrun low-quality work anyway is MY least favorite superpower!”
However, a concern immediately reveals itself to them. “Hold up. I don’t know what to do to look incompetent in Rain’s perspective! How can I get this daily done if I fail at being incompetent?” They lash their tail from side to side in agitation.
“Sounds like you’re fairly incompetent at being incompetent!” River compliments helpfully.
Rain casts a dead-eyed stare at Wild. “It… Really isn’t that hard to make me see you that way. You’re overthinking.”
“But I’m so GOOD at overthinking!” Wild stresses. “I. I guess that’s another ill-favored superpower of mine, huh?”
They reconsider. “Actually, I kind of like my overthinking. It’s sorta funny.”
River nods encouragingly. “Good job! You’re failing to make up your mind! Definitely incompetence!”
Wild perks up. “Wait, so I did it?” The daily’s written?”
“I mean, it didn’t really feature Rain much at all, and she’s the character you were supposed to be writing about. But also, you have 5 minutes left.”
“Oh. Well…,” Wild hesitates. What could they possibly do to fix that? “Rain, just say the last sentence, okay? How do you feel about your least favorite superpower?”
Rain rolls their eyes affectionately. “Y’all are the worst.”
