Why is FNaF Banned like every 8 year old knows what it is so why is it banned in the first place, like its not like it give 8 year old gets nightmares from it like Social Media made it a viral meme. And dont say “its scary and it breaks our guidlines” because sure it dose but every 8 year old finds it funny and PLUS the jumpscares are not even scary. So Scratch Team why did you ban it?
“every 8 year old” is very innacurate, I can probably find 40 year olds thats scared of FNAF, it'd be rare, but they do likely exist.

As for the reason of ban, it was banned because too much people made projects relating to it that was against the guidelines.
Its not even scary same with the fan games and plus my dad loves it and hes only 43!

“its not scary” is subjective, I know quite a few people who find gore acceptable as well, does that mean gore would be fine on scratch?

Here's a reminder that I found FNAF extremely scary when I was 15 years old.

It's not entirely banned - Replicating the game or having jumpscares like it is what is banned there.

Not every 8 year old. You are being stereotypical and throwing an assumption.

During 2018-2019, you could not go a single second without hearing about the game, no matter how old you were.

Stereotyping + assuming again, and murder is not funny no matter the circumstance.

I'm just pulling the announcement at this point. Here.

Why are you unsharing my project for being “too scary” when my 6 year-old nephew / sibling / cousin loves it and doesn't think it's scary?
Finding one example of a younger person that is not disturbed by FNAF or similar content doesn't prove that there aren't many others who do find it disturbing. We have heard feedback from many kids, parents, and teachers over the years who feel that some FNAF and similar content in projects are not appropriate for Scratch.
I'll quote parts here:

speakvisually wrote:

What’s the impact of this kind of content on Scratch? Multiple school districts have blocked access to Scratch. Several parents have reported their children having nightmares. A number of community members have expressed they feel uncomfortable browsing Scratch because of this type of content.

Which elements are considered inappropriate according to the Scratch Community Guidelines?
  1. Graphic Content: Depictions or audio that emulate weapons, gore, or violence.
  2. Intense Themes: Serious or scary topics.
  3. Vulgarity: Disrespectful or mature language.
  4. Jumpscares: Startling images that abruptly flash on the screen.

It is our policy to remove content that is too graphic, scary, or violent. We understand that unsharing and restricting content is no fun — but we hope you understand why this is a necessary step in ensuring the Scratch community remains a friendly and welcoming site for people of all ages.

Content moderation is difficult. We want to ensure that you are all able to express yourselves while also balancing the needs of the community.

Thanks,
Scratch Team
Those answer your questions as to why the same gameplay loop and stuff is banned.
And I'll back myself up: You can still make games using the characters (Note that for example you will have to get rid of the holes on the costume of Springtrap though, you know why.)
Will all Five Nights at Freddy’s and similar content be unshared?
No. We’ll only unshare content that violates our Community Guidelines. For example: An emulation of or conversation about Five Nights at Freddy’s containing any of the elements described above is not okay.
And before you mention warnings probably:
Why not implement an age appropriateness rating system on Scratch?
Everything shared in our community should be appropriate for all ages. Any type of age restriction by the Scratch Team, community members, or creators isn’t aligned with this philosophy.

Can I put a disclaimer on my Scratch project to warn people it's not for all ages?
Everything shared in our community should be appropriate for all ages. Any content that requires a disclaimer or warning isn't aligned with this philosophy and would not be suitable for Scratch. If a warning is needed, it is probably not appropriate for Scratch.
11 here, I personally don’t have nightmares over fnaf, probably because my brother scared me with pictures of slenderman and other scarier monsters when I was like 6, but I know that a lot of kids my age and younger or even older are scared of fnaf. No matter what you say you can’t change the fact that hundreds of kids are scared of it.

13 here, I personally love FNaF, but when I was like 10 I was terrified of it.

It technically isn't banned, but if you make a project that contains the game's jumpscares or is too scary, than it is a violation of the Community Guidelines.
Edit: there is no way to accurately determine if all 8-year-olds aren't scared of FNAF.

Cause parents are overprotective and if their child gets scared they will ban scratch and tell other parents and people that scratch is bad.

While games that has mechanics like FNaF usually don't get banned, Scratch does actually have a history behind FNaF-type projects. Sometime in like 2016(?) a bunch of parents and teachers were complaining to Scratch about it, due to their children getting nightmares and things like that. If you're still confused, there's a Scratch Wiki page explaining it.

“Every 8 year old finds it funny” Is not a true statement. People can like what they like and dislike what they dislike. Don't say untrue things like “The jumpscares aren't even scary” Some people may find it scary. Also yes, depending on how you make it, it CAN be against the guidelines and it CAN be scary.
