Alrighty then. Just let me know how progress is as you finish more and more characters. I want to have a poster out by the time I start casting next week so maybe do the main characters first.

What, do you mean like this:

I don't see why this needs to be added, such a small and unnoticable change. Also, scratch is for teaching programming not improper grammar.

Edit: semicolon because block plugin doesn't let me use backslash as a bypass like it does for other text.
Edit2: fixed, but I hadd to purposely add a typo (pun intended).

My suggestion is a date tag.
How would it work?
This is an example placement of a date tag:
The super-duper Scratch party is [date]28/2/2024[/date]
The date tag would be used to show a word like Today or Yesterday if the date put into it was in the last few days, much like the dates on forum posts.
The above code is only one idea of how the date is inserted into the block. (It obviously wouldn’t use what I used there, because other countries besides America put that in a different order.)
Why would it be useful?
Example 1: Say @RandomUser is making a post about his party he’s having in a studio, and it’s only on that day. The day before, he types in his forum post, “The party is tomorrow!”. Then, the next day, someone goes on and sees it. They plan to visit the studio the next day. The next day, they get to the studio - and the party’s over.
That sounds a bit far-fetched, but you get the idea.

Here are some suggestions of how it might be in more detail from other forumers.

the blue controller site has a feature like this, and it translates into everyone's timezone so this would be a nice feature to have if it was similar to that.

The title was originally “Time Tag”, but I thought “Date Tag” would be more accurate.

So, Por Ejemplo, the date is far out. Let's say

Scratch is going to turn 20 on [date]15-5-27[/date]

Will it just display days until or round weeks, months, years, etc? and what about all of the other formats you can make a date, e.g. the format the Americans use where the months and days are switched?

Scratch is going to turn 20 on [date]5-15-27[/date]

Can this be made interchangeable?- no. I think there would be a bump down the road if you used this feature. Say an American who did not know the syntax of the “Time Tag” was going to have their super-duper Scratch party on January the second.

The super-duper Scratch party is [date]1/2/2024[/date]!

The computer, which is hypothetically instructed to use the other syntax, will display the date as February 1st. You see the problem this presents right? Scratchers, active and inactive from the United States make up a whopping 33.82% of scratch, which is approximately 434,757,93 registered users give or take. Given that other people might use the US' system as well, that is only more Scratchers that have the potential to make that mistake. I think it is too complicated and too easy to get mess up to implicate in Scratch
In my game Minecraft Paint, I am trying to make a mobile version of the game, to reach out to a wider variety of people. I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a way to place blocks for mobile, because I can’t figure it out for the life of me, because the current script I have places the blocks at the mouse-pointer immediately. I don’t know how well I explained it, or at all, but if anyone knows a solution, please notify me ASAP please.

i guess you could call this a bump… for a topic about bumpers? no wait, that joke didn’t work

ok, i don’t really have any nostalgia bias since i didn’t even watch cartoon network until 2021 when i discovered gumball and fell in love with it, so don’t expect my thoughts on its bumpers to just be “check it was nostalgia era, bring it back!!!1!1!1!” (although it was a pretty good era, not gonna lie.)

anyway, to the point. i actually kind of like the pastel era bumpers. like, normally oversimplified changes would drive me absolutely crazy, but this is a rare exception. the color palette they chose kind of looks reminiscent of the pre-redraw your world eras, and i kind of like it.

can’t wait for them to change it again in 3 years and either ruin or improve it.

True. But if you already have a direction, and need a slope, then you need trig. I don't know how this project works, but a lot of projects rely on sprite direction rather than the slope of a line to point at things.
If you already have the direction you can just move like this:
change [x v] by (([sin v] of (direction)) * (x velocity))
change [y v] by (([cos v] of (direction)) * (y velocity))
But using velocity already does this which is why i said you don't really need trigonometry. (also this is basically just the “move in () steps” block.

Hey Scratch Team! I have a request to improve Scratch. The trending page has those little tabs that should feature projects in the categories such as Animations, Games and Music but for some reason those tabs get mixed up. Like having a generic platformer in the music tab or having an animation in the art tab. If you could try to fix this or even suggest for scratchers to stop using inaccurate tabs, that would make scratch a much better website.

When making a suggestion, make sure you have an explanation of what each block exactly does, and how it will be useful to coding on Scratch
Some of these blocks should get one suggestion on it's own to centralize a more focused discussion on 1 block at a time. And, everyone's post count goes up by replying

Hi guys.. unfortunately I am EXTREMELY busy, and at this point, I'm not sure if this is going to come out. I really did want to keep working on it, but I don't have enough time to work on this. I was thinking of making a dubbed comic, so if anyone is interested in that, I'll post the link to auds when they're out. (a comic would be much easier to produce, and since it's a comic, I could post it and add dubbing later when everyone is ready. That way, I think we could keep it in production
Not yet. I'm just waiting to see what Argyle comes up with. You've got a good chance though. If you're picked you get to design all of the characters base models and the scene backgrounds.

Please don't necropost- this topic was made in 2017. You can't merge two sprites into one from a block, period. You can, however, create the illusion of this in a number of ways.

Create a new topic if you have a question.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀【 ☾ i. LE PETIT PRINCE ·˚ * 】
Antoine de Saint-Exupery — Allegorical — 85 pages ( 0 - 85 )

Perhaps even based off the own experiences of the author's history as a racing pilot and in his crash in Libya, Le Petit Prince follows the tale of a pilot stranded in the deserts, where he encounters a mysterious young boy with golden hair and the wildest imaginations. The sheer ridiculousness of this, combined with the boy's refusal to answer any questions, instead requesting the pilot to draw him a sheep. The sheep never quite looks right, but the most appeasing drawing was that of a box where the little prince's ideal sheep was in. The pilot listened to the little prince's journeys through the universes, especially across the increasingly petty ones of vain men, drunkards and lamplighters… most of all how hard he had sought to protect a little flower on his own planet, not to forget the fox who begged the prince to tame him. In this iconic and enchanting novel is what captured the hearts of readers, woven into a life lesson of what is truly important: Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux..

Of course, such a fountain never truly existed, but by bringing the four of them together, they came to understand of the pain to be resolved. The Warlock's Hairy Heart tells the tale of a warlock who saw love as weakness and henceforth decided to extract his own heart through the practice of incredibly dark magic. It also shares the numerous illegitimate actions taken in attempts to ensure a win as well as the near-extinct Snidget that came as a continuous use of the magical creature as an early ‘Snitch’. Techniques commonly seen in modern-day Quidditch are covered here too, most notably the famous Wronski Feint in which a Seeker lunges towards the ground to get their opposition to crash.

Harry and Ron are of course intensely berated, with Gilderoy Lockhart, the new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, taking a special interest. Quidditch practices resume as the trio settle into a routine of normality once again, and they learn that Malfoy has bought his way onto the Slytherin team. Professor Lockhart fails to fix Harry's injury after their first match, sending him to the hospital wing where he spots a Petrified first-year. Soon after, a duelling club commences, where he accidentally slips into Parseltongue unknowingly, leading to his classmates to believe him the ‘heir of Slytherin’, who had begun to leave ominous messages around the school. The Petrified students continue to appear, all of them Muggle-born, just as Harry discovers an empty journal where the preserved persona of an ex-student Tom Riddle resides, eventually luring them into the Chamber of Secrets: Moaning Myrtle's bathroom.

J.K. Rowling — Fantasy — 462 pages ( 0 - 462 )

The recent escape of a high-profile wizarding criminal has gotten to the ears of even the Muggle community, and when Harry's Aunt Marge comes over to stay, that is where he hears the news of Sirius Black, servant to the Dark Lord. After insults to him go too far, Harry ups and leaves for Diagon Alley, where he spends the remainder of his summer holiday. When he, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts, they are greeted with the presence of Dementors; soul-sucking Dark creatures that previously guarded the Azkaban gaol. He soon attends his first Divination class, where Professor Trelawney predicts Harry's upcoming death from a reading of the Grim - which he did see a huge black dog on the day he left the Dursleys. Meanwhile, in Hagrid's first Care of Magical Creatures lesson with Hippogriffs, Malfoy insults a Hippogriff; Buckbeak, and henceforth gets injured. This results in a case persecuting Buckbeak for execution, which over time is all that kept Harry and his friends together. He receives the Marauders' Map as a gift from Fred and George Weasley, which become the source of all the mischief that he gets into, while over on the Quidditch pitch his trusty Nimbus Two Thousand becomes shattered by the Whomping Willow.. which leads to a rather suspicious gift of the highly expensive Firebolt arrive at his doorstep. Nevertheless, the Gryffindor Quidditch Team go on to win the Quidditch Cup; their first in seven years. But when they sneak down to accompany Hagrid to Buckbeak's execution, Ron is hauled into the Shrieking Shack by a huge Grim-esque black dog, who reveals himself to be convicted criminal Sirius Black…

Platform 9¾. This fabled station is buried deep in the folds of King's Cross of London, but while the Muggles have even marked the entrance to these fantastical lands, the Hogwarts Express still steamrolls on. Posted by the entrance to the train is the two conductors, one with deep chocolate hair and the other a blazing russet, and you glance anxiously side-to-side in caution as you board; the vast interior seems almost a dystopian landscape, chaos walking free everywhere. Not to mention the books, of course, piles from Homer's Odyssey to Suzanne Collins' The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. You see a figure climbing just outside a carriage, disappearing onto the rooftop, and your curiosity burns your anxiousness as you clamber after them. As plumes of cinder roll across the brindled skies, you join her in sitting underneath the stars, with a book in your hands…

Hey there! I'm Pixie, and I use she/they/boku pronouns. I'm proudly Chinese-British, and my birthday is the 5th of February. My favorite country is Sweden ( discounting those in my heritage ), and my hobbies include reading, writing, art, debating, swimming, gaming, programming, languages… I've probably tried everything at some point. I aspire to study and work in Economics, Business, Law and hopefully Politics - though that will take a lot of convincing.

I have an avid interest in typology and am ENTJ (A) 3w4 sx/so 385 ( 3w4, 8w9, 5w6 ) Te-Ni-Ne-Fi Chaotic Neutral RCOEI VLFE LIE-ENTj ET(N) D-c Architect Choleric-Phlegmatic ▪︎ Aquarius Fire/Water Slytherclaw Dragon Heartstring Cabin 1 ( Zeus ) Dauntless-Erudite District Four ShadowClan Rain/NightWing - though I am becoming a Gryffindor for the month
Did you read that?

I've been in SWC November ‘23, SRC December ’23, JWC ‘24 and SAC February ’24. Previous cabins include Where No One Goes ( Fantasy Nov ‘23 ), Utopian Sanctuary ( Utopian Dec ’23 ), Harlequin Theatre ( Script JWC ‘24 ) and Manga Mirror Maze ( Manga SAC ’24 )! I chose to skip out on SWC March to return to an old community of mine, but I am extremely excited to return to SRC in Gryffindor's Adventure Platform, under the incredible Raya and insanely talented Maia!

Hi!
I am a musician with relative and unproven perfect pitch.
Where do you make your music on? e.g. garageband, musescore.

I would love to know!
I use Studio One 6.
Order Type: Art
Order Details: This is sort of a big order, but I would like to have the look of my game revamped ( https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/886120669/ ), including the thumbnail, enemies (though keep their size and shape), and the player skins to be more detailed. Also I would like to make the bullets look nicer if thats possible, thank you.
Time Zone: US CDT (UTC-05)

This block is similar to
Pause [All] for (...) secs
You can put the wait block on each sprite you want to pause
it just takes a bit longer…

Thanks for reading <333

I was thinking about making a chat for me and 2 other people working on a collab. It will be in a project, using cloud, and it will have only certain messages, i.e., press 1 to say “hello” press 2 to say “mouses exist”. Is that okay?

It will also use username sensing to only allow members of the collab.

please tell me this is okay i really want to do this, i just dont want to get reported and gat scratch mad at me,
The ST allows chat projects or projects that contain chatting functions as long as you can't type custom messages.

Why is FNaF Banned like every 8 year old knows what it is so why is it banned in the first place, like its not like it give 8 year old gets nightmares from it like Social Media made it a viral meme. And dont say “its scary and it breaks our guidlines” because sure it dose but every 8 year old finds it funny and PLUS the jumpscares are not even scary. So Scratch Team why did you ban it?
It technically isn't banned, but if you make a project that contains the game's jumpscares or is too scary, than it is a violation of the Community Guidelines.
Edit: there is no way to accurately determine if all 8-year-olds aren't scared of FNAF.

NOTE: Guys let's not make the replies too critical, I don't care if the idea is rejected.
if its rejected then they are gonna be so critical
isn't this implemented?
Being too critical doesn't follow the Community Guidelines, as a result of Scratchers being discouraged, let's not talk about one.
Being critical does follow the community guidelines as long as its respectful. As long as we don't attack you or anything related to you and only discuss the suggestion itself, its all ok.

The whole point of the suggestions forums is to discuss about the the suggestions, if we don't be critical, then won't we possibly miss out on a flaw a suggestion might have?
Exactly.
For example, saying
“This suggestion is kinda dumb (insert reason here)”
Is okay, but
“You’re dumb”
Is not okay.

Because criticizing the suggestion isn’t the same as criticizing the suggestor

She would grow up to be a famous author. She would write incredible stories, touch the hearts of millions, inspire readers all over the world. She would be remembered—not as plain old Lizzie, but as Elizabeth.
All of this, Aunt Grace believed firmly.
It had taken quite a while for Lizzie to get over the disappointment of her first rejection, but she could not be held down for long. Now, Lizzie was back in the rhythm of writing, typing tirelessly away at the old typewriter. She was working on a brand new story, and Aunt Grace was excited to see it. Soon, the entire family would realize that Lizzie wasn’t just a plain, shy girl with glasses and no personality—she had talent. She would bring them all tremendous money. Aunt Grace would even go so far as to say that Lizzie was the best among the lot—better than stuck-up Pam and better than that monkey of a Tony.
“Aunt Grace!” called Lizzie from the study, and Aunt Grace hurried to the room.
“What is it, my dear?”
“I’ve just finished this draft. Would you please read it over and tell me if it’s any good?”
Aunt Grace took the manuscript, adjusting her glasses further up her nose. The next few minutes were silent as she read carefully though, while Lizzie looked on with a nervous expression and fidgeted with her hands.
Finally, Aunt Grace looked up, and she smiled one of her rare smiles.
“Is it any good?” Lizzie asked anxiously.
“My dear,” replied Aunt Grace, “it’s more than good. It’s simply marvelous! The most wonderful thing I’ve ever read! You send it to the magazine, and if they don’t publish it, well, I’ll eat my hat!”
“Do you really think so?” said Lizzie in delight. “Oh, thank you, Aunt Grace! I was so afraid it would be terribly boring.”
“If anyone calls it boring, tell me, and I’ll have a few words to say to them.”
Lizzie beamed at her aunt. “I’ll go send it off right now.”
Aunt Grace watched her go, smiling. Soon, she’d be seeing that story published in a magazine, and it would be written by none other than Elizabeth Farrell.

First of all, I really enjoyed reading the piece! It has great description, and you really manage to echo Erin Hunter’s story.

Personally, I find the transition between Blazestar and Foxpatch to Cookie a bit confusing, partly because the last paragraph ends on ‘ “W-what?” ’ because this isn’t a very good ending line for a paragraph. If you end it on something like ‘You’ll see’ then it gives a feeling of suspense for the reader.

At the start of the second paragraph, I think you could add more description, and maybe add some more background information about the twolegs/ Cookie because then it will speak to your reader more, if they have some background information. For example ‘Cookie had been living with twolegs for his whole life and yearned to adventure into the unknown’ if this is what Cookie wants to do.

I would also suggest introducing Swanfeather a bit more. Who is Swanfeather and how does this relate to the last paragraph? Is Swanfeather the ‘stone-coloured she-cat’ from the last paragraph? I really like how you add that twist as Foxpatch isn’t chosen for deputy. I also really like hoe you bring Foxpatch back to old memories when he sees his claw marks on the tree

I love how in the last paragraph you reveal Foxpatch’s bloodthirsty nature when he k1lls the other members of his patrol. I find the line ‘Moons of anguish and rage and hatred piled into his claws, and lunged with deadly precision, killing him immediately.’ because it sounds like it’s killing Foxpatch, not the others, then I read the next line and realised. Maybe you could think of making this a bit clearer.

Overall, I think you need to tell your reader more about your characters so that they can relate to the piece more and understand it. However, I loved this writing and it was a real treat to read and critique! Thank you for letting me critique your amazing piece!

What do you mean? A team of users on Scratch to create a project?
