So I have an idea. What if we had block folders.
So basically, In the editor you will have like this tool to select stacks of blocks, and then you can make them a folder. (Making mockups later) the folder will look like a… folder, and it will hide all the code that you put in the folder, if you open the folder, by clicking it, the code that was in the folder will show ,and on top of it no matter where you place it it will say “put back in folder” and if you click that it will put it back in the folder. There will also be a “take it out of folder” button. if there was multiple stacks of code in the folder, it will have those buttons on top of each stack. Yes you’ll be able to name block folders.

Mock-ups:

Smoke wafted through the air and inside lungs as the fire consumed every bit of their dear SWC. The SWCers were silent as their world turned to ashes, incapable of talking or even moving. Things were like that for a long time.
Dear, dear gurtle… what have you become? Lucy thought, slowly recovering her senses. Smoke. People. And a giant turtle-dragon blowing fire that, Lucy was sure, was now deadly.
“We need to make something,” she said almost whispering and with a shaky voice. They needed to think and be strong, like when they were to fight the blank page or when they had no computer and wrote longhand. They could do this.
Well, she wasn't so sure. It wasn’t like a little turtle had turned into a giant, massive dragon before. She breathed in deeply to recover strength, but stopped midway because of the smoke. With a handker-chief she’d gotten from her back pocket, she spoke again.
“SWCers!” she shouted at the top of her lungs, “we’ve got to be strong! This giant turtle isn’t stronger than us! This giant turtle WON’T TAKE US DOWN. We are SWC, and we rule! To the mango power!”
Everyone slowly started moving, grabbing pens and frying pans and mangoes and, from above, the tyrants thought that this really was SWC. Their dear SWC wasn’t turning to ashes. In fact, they were catching fire.
Lucy started running towards the figure in the sky, but her trousers got caught in something and she fell to the hard, cold floor. Covered in dust, she tried to get up, but her knee hurt too much. She needed to be strong. She needed to get up.
Instead, she stamped her head onto some hard thing as the fire started surrounding her. The thing she got her foot in (some weird metal or something of the kind), started nailing into her leg. Her vision turned blurry.
Was this how she was going to end? Covered in ashes because of a broken ankle and a throbbing head? She decided she wouldn’t. Clenching her fists and gritting her fists so she wouldn’t scream, she got the nail from her clothes. Crawling, she started moving backwards.
And then, something hit her back. Trapped under the weight of the thing, she could barely move.
Everythings on fire! someone screamed as the dragon charged again, and she remembered an old lullaby. How did it go?
But she didn’t remember. The thoughts spinned in her head and her vision got blurry as she felt the heat of the fire approaching her. Words wouldn’t come out of her mouth. She felt kinda grateful that her last words would be motivation for her friends, still. Not some cry for help.
She closed her eyes as smoke and heat were everything she could feel.

“Open your eyes,” someone demanded, and she awakened to a bandaged foot and fire cut against the black sky.
“Where am I?” Lucy said in a moment of confusion, but then she remembered. The dragon. The fire. How she died. “Is this the… other side?”
The girl laughed nervously, “no, I got you from the fire.”
“What’s your name?” demanded Lucy.
store its position in variables before you glide, then in a separate script (for the sprite will not continue with the script it's gliding in until it's done gliding) set both values to (stored x - current x) and likewise for y. then compare the absolute values in an if else to see which axis the sprite is moving more in (do all this in a run without screen refresh custom block).

the sprite will almost never move in just one axis.

Night

My weary eyelids drooped as the train chugged through the patchwork of fields. The pale moonlight lit up the rugged mountains, bruised with lilac heather. Spindly trees reached their branches up towards the moon, the pearly light bathing the harsh landscape in a soft silver glow. I sighed happily and a smile curled on my lips as my head tipped back and sleep beckoned me, warm and tempting.

Screech!
I lurched forwards, my heart pounding wildly in my chest as the train slowly came to a standstill. Bright amber lights flashed on, glary and blinding. I gently leaned back again into the coarse fabric of my seat. People filed out through the doors, eager to be outside, gulping in the pure, clean air. Fyrian, my feisty little dragon, wriggled impatiently in my pocket, his leathery scales rubbing against my smooth olive skin, velvety and silky.
“Can’t we get off?” He complained to me, plumes of smoke erupting from his nostrils.
I stroked his emerald head.
“Soon.” I promised him, my voice strong and confident. On the inside though, my stomach churned with anxiety and my head burned with worry.
Exhaustion washed over me and tears brimmed in my swollen eyes. Once more, they flickered, spots clouding my vision. I clenched my fists to a piercing white, urging myself to stay awake. But I couldn’t resist. Then I saw something out of the corner of my eye.

I swivelled my head around swiftly, my breath catching in my throat. But all I could see was the night sky, stars shimmering at me warmly. My brow furrowed in confusion. I knew something was there. But I didn’t know what. I turned my attention to Fyrian, who was now snoring, his chest heaving up and down. Gradually I relaxed, reassuring myself that everything was going to be fine. I smiled softly as the train shuddered back to life, its movement creaky and ancient.

This time I was wide awake, my eyes glinting jewels in the harsh light. My ears were alert and I could feel every vibration juddering beneath my feet. Every pinprick of light in the endless darkness was clear as day.
Night.
A voice echoed in my blank mind, ringing out loudly.
Night.
It was malicious and triumphant.
Night.
It was dark and wicked.
Look out of the corner of your eye.

I immediately snapped my eyes shut, willing myself not to open them. Don’t do it.
Do it.
Don’t. My eyes gradually fluttered open and flicked hurriedly to one side.
I am Night.
Elegant slender fingers stretched out towards me, blending in with the ebony sky. Night embraced me with a cold grip, my blood turning to ice. An unearthly sound tore through the air. I flinched, my breath catching in my throat. Then I realised it was me screaming. I was being thrusted into the air, my legs dangling over the rusty carriage.

The freezing air punched me and I was thrown back further into Night’s calloused clutch. Starlight tangled in my fingers as I was lifted steadily up, moonlight framing the edges. It ripped at my clothes and wove itself around my throat, further and further. The golden net enclosed my feeble figure, cocooning me in a soft trap. I spluttered and coughed, trying to get the air back into my lungs. My eyes rolled back into my head. I blacked out.

The Sun was setting below the horizon. But the battle still reign. Despite several casualties, Gurtle was getting overpowered by oncoming SWC-ers. “C'mon, guys! We just need the final hit to get our beloved turtle back!” Marbles yelled. Every writer charged towards Balrog-Gurtle, hoping to end this once and for all.

However, things couldn't have been that easy, could it?

In a split of a second, Gurtle opened his mouth slowly like a normal turtle, but it spew out fire like a mythical dragon. “Everyone, take cover!” SWC-ers tried to find something to shield themselves from rocks. Those who were unfortunate somehow survived, because the fire was not lethal. In an instant, the whole land became dark, red and molten.
Gurtle had transformed the place into a world of hell.

“What the…”
“This place…”
“He's getting away! We must follow him!”

SWC-ers tried to race after Gurtle, who spread wings and started to fly his way off the battlefield, hoping for recovery. Suddenly, geysers of lava started to gush out from beneath the SWC-er's feet, nearly burning them up in the process. “We need to be careful. Who knows what Gurtle did to change this world.” Marbles said as everyone else agreed. They advanced against Gurtle, however it's hard to keep up with a fast flying dragon-turtle while being mindful of their safety at the same time. “We should use ranged weapons! We need archery!” Someone yelled from behind and everyone proceeded to load their bows with arrows. “If we managed to hit him, we can take him down from here!” Everyone pulled their bowstrings as someone counted,

“3… 2… 1! Fire!”

Arrows fly towards the sky like rain upon Gurtle. His wings were injured, which slowed his flight speed. Everyone cheered, but the fight isn't over yet. Suddenly, Gurtle started to morph. “What now?” Balrog wasn't done with his chaos yet. Gurtle slowly started to lose his shell and limbs, replacing with a snout with eerie red eyes. His limbs were replaced with fangs. “Gurtle… What have you become?” Gurtle had fully fused with Balrog. He is now an actual dragon.

I'm working on a real time strategy game and I need a pathfinding engine that will work with my camera engine. I need something that works for the following camera engine:

Backdrop:

when green flag clicked
set (Camera X) to (0)
set ( Camera Y) to (0)
(Camera control)

Define (camera control)
change (Camera X) by ((key d pressed)-(Key a pressed)* (25)
change ( Camera Y) by ((key w pressed)-(key s pressed)*(25)

Sprite:

when green flag clicked
hide
(spawn (1)

define (spawn #)
repeat #
create clone of myself

when i start as a clone
show
set (x) (for this sprite only) to (0)
set (y) (for this sprite only) to (0)
forever
switch to costume 2 (a big sprite)
go to (x)-(camera x) (y)- (camera y)
switch to costume 1 (normal sprite)

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I'm tryna figure out how to limit a sprites jumps until it touches a platform so it can jump again any ideas? (I'm also a new scratches)
Scratch should add a way to have custom mouse pointers for projects.

I feel like in the next Scratch update each project should have a sprite that you can't delete like the Backdrop but for the mouse pointer. There should be options to customise the mouse costume and hide/show it. I always felt like there should be a way to add custom cursors because the only way right now is to have a sprite that goes to mouse pointer, which isn't as good as the mouse is still in the way.

forever
go to [mouse pointer v]
end

If hiding it would be a problem, I feel like changing the mouse costume would be fine. I know it says not to be able to change it but I don't see why not, it doesn't necessarily “change” the project but the option would still be nice. Maybe it just needs a feauture that the mouse needs at least a certain amount drawn on it.

There are some moments I would use this like being able to change the cursor type in a game or turning into the clicking style when hovering over a button. It doesn't really seem that game changing but personalisation would at least make projects unique and allow more creativity. Either way, I hope some form is added.

switch cursor to [target v]

if <touching [mouse pointer v] ?> then
switch cursor to [question mark v]
end

next mouse

The problem with using AI to write your sugestions is that AI is not a scratcher, it just knows baseline information about scratch and it's spending more time putting words together then actually paying attention to the meaning behind the words. If you actually cared about this idea, AI woudln't have written it for you.

Don't get me wrong, I fully support having assets back as I cannot use cubeupload (and it's a pain), so this would be beneficial, but I am worried about the logisitics to bring this to fruition.
1. As explained, a user is verified by their account age and a quick post review (to make sure they don't spam, and aren't a bot)
2. The same way Scratch Team members have access to moderator tools and normal users don't. There's definitely a way to filter permissions built into scratch forums, so it wouldn't be too complicated to implement.

Since the scratch assets block, I have not uploaded a single image into the scratch forums. Why? because it's hard for me to use Cubeupload. I have to take a screenshot, open snip and sketch, save the screenshot, log into cubeupload (which never saves my login for some reason), find and upload the file, and then paste the link. This is a much more difficult process than the previous take a screenshot and paste that I used to have to do.
Before Scratch assets, this was the intended method to upload images. It was never intentional to make it easier. The fact that this process is so cumbersome is beneficial since then trolls will be less likely to upload inappropriate images.

Given that, this is rejected:
I am aware, but it's too hard for people who are trying to actually contribute to the community. A fantastic example actually is My Sticky in BaG, which has a list of all color inconsistiencies. If I want to update this sticky, I will have to migrate all of these images back to CubeUpload, which is a ton of work for me, that just benefits the people making it harder for me to upload it. I understand that it's to filter trolls, but as my post explains, it would be hard for these “trolls” to get verified on this platform. And once again, as my post states, if a verified user went rogue, it would be no different for them to use cubeupload, since a seasoned forumer would already know about this image host. It saves them a maximum of 3 minutes to upload bad images, and this suggestion has so much potential good for the community like I already said.

Due to these reasons, I believe this is a solution to the rejection, that checks all the boxes and solves the problems with the rejection.

Troll Image spam isn't much of an issue anymore, as scratch assets existed for a while now and the Scratch Team never really noticed it as an issue until they unintentionally blocked it out. However, a lot of modern stickies, guides, and overall helpful posts made by positive forumers have been locked as the ban was made.

Out of curiosity, in your 2-3 years as a moderator, how many forum users did you see send innapropriate images with 500-1000+ posts?

There was a remixed New Years' project that was featured a year or two ago. I seem to recall that there was a lot of controversy in it being featured, because many Scratchers felt that the original creator deserved the recognition more. Thankfully, in that specific case, the original creator seemed to be okay with the fact that a remix was featured.

I think this could explain why remixes are rarely featured — in general perhaps it's best to give this recognition to the original creator of the project.

Trending is also probably similar, although it's a little different because that is done algorithmically. My guess is that Scratchers who see a remix of the project would probably want to see the original project.

coco woke up with a yawn and stretched her arms. she looked out of the window, expecting the bright rays of the sun to bathe her in their shimmering light, and for the sounds of campers laughing and playfully fighting echo.

however, unexpectedly, she was met with quite an opposite sight.

the campers looked worried and anxious, and were frantically scribbling away at their notebooks. coco shrugged- maybe the daily was just a bit unusual, or involved thinking about something that made you panic.

she made herself a glass of mango milkshake and cheerfully headed outside to the main cabin.

coco was not greeted with the sight that she'd expected to see.

the announcement for SWC had been severely damaged, and words were fading in and out, so only particular clauses were visible. as coco looked around, she saw cabins burning and smoke emerging from the areas were white-hot fire had previously dominated.

“ouch,” coco winced. “that- that's a bit…harsh. i mean, which cabin would do that?”
a particular thought struck her head. this sounded like the work of a particular something, but way worse-

“gurtle!” a camper yelled in frustration. “i made songs about you, and we practically worshipped you! how could you do this to us?”
coco groaned. that mischevious turtle had caused ALL of this?

she listened around more and interacted with her friends and got to know the entire truth- that gurtle had became evil, and a balrog had somehow magically fused with it.

coco sat up, having a thought. “maybe we can contact the hosts about it, and ask them to help!” she exclaimed.

snowy shook her head. “unfortunately, that's not possible. the hosts- something's happened to them!”

coco followed her glance and looked towards the thrones, where the hosts sat. they had cold, nonchalant eyes and glazed down at the campers as if nothing was going on. the fire, the warmth in their eyes were blown out- and so were their frequent smiles.

she desperately tried waving at the hosts, and greeting them, but their eyes passed right over her.

“they've been hyptnotised by gurtle or something,” lily said. “so we can't go to them for help. but snowy had this idea-”

“frying pans,” snowy continued. “they're possibly the most helpful solution. mangoes and cookies don't work, so it's the only option.”

“that's amazing!” coco said. “we'll just have to form a plan. we can gather campers, form a mission, and set everything out. we can make a base foundation, and possibly hire goats, spread awareness, gather information,”

she looked at the balrog-gurtle, and coco's eyes filled with determination and persistence.

“and then, we'll bring peace to scratch writing camp.” the campers said in unision, having the same thought.

they were interruped by the sound of coco munching a blueberry chocolate croissant. they stared at her with amusement and coco looked up.
“huh? oh yeah, i was thinking the same thing, but the croissant…delicious. what? stop looking at me like that, i was hungry.”

How often, if ever, do remixed projects get featured or become trending? I never personally seen remixed projects (excluding contests since those don’t count) ever become featured or trending. It’s probably possible but it seems exceedingly rare. This is because a lot of my projects are remixed versions of others, although I don’t really care if I ever get on trending. Instead, I just want to know what the likelyhood is or give any examples you know of.

He's pretty much asking if you're old enough to actually know what this means. And it's a definite no.

Yeah, I figured out the context just from looking at the text in the original post, I would've been able to figure what was happening in 2011-2013, and I was like 10-14 years younger..

hello, I have a question. I'm working on a project on scratch, and I'm using a lot of lists. Do the lists clear themselves every time the project is opend by another user? (the project's shared)
Lists are stored in the project according to their state last time you saved the project. That is what anyone will see when they open the project.

Next time you need help please post a new topic rather than necroposting.

You can also use an uncloned sprite to create the clone of the sprite being cloned so a broadcast to that uncloned sprite is only ever run by one object.

BWR – THE REBELS!
I furiously jumped onto the wooden crate before leaping of it whilst pushing it back to block the way, as I thrust myself into the nearest alley, flattening myself against the wall, staying on my toes until I heard their nearing footsteps behind me pass into the distance. I stayed there for a few seconds, watching the flower shop, listening to the bustling city, keeping a close eye on everyone that passed by, standing by my motive – trust no one. I fell to my knees, finally giving in to catch a few breaths before wearily eying my surroundings.
There was litter flooding all over the floor and the walls were thick with graffiti. The place smelt like my mum's burnt cottage pie left to rot in the summer for more than a month: basically, it smelt BAD. I turned my focus to the back wall of the alley, though there didn’t seem to be one. In its place was darkness, a never-ending void of darkness, that seemed to claw into my brain, reaching for my worst nightmares. I shook my head. I’m not afraid of the dark, I’ve never been afraid of the dark. But this dark sent shivers down my spine.
With trembling hands, I reached into my pocket, feeling for the comforting handle of my torchlight. *click* the satisfying noise of the light turning on echoed in the deafening silence. Pointing my torch towards the black, I plastered on a worried face. The light seemed to give little, if any impact on the void of darkness at all. It was like a thick, stubborn fog, slowly wrapping itself around me, choking me in its foulness, forcing me into its evil layer.
Just as those thoughts engulfed me, I heard a sound from deep within the alley. Ok, this is too hard to ignore now. I took a deep breath and walked right into the darkness, regretting all my life decisions. The sound sounded again, then, all of a sudden something happened. Something which I cannot describe, but I will do my best. I seemed to have collapsed to the floor as the darkness became darker, my thoughts seemed to disintegrate. That was when all consciousness I had, was gone…

My eyelids seemed like led, as I reluctantly opened my eyes, finding myself in an unfamiliar place. Without even properly observing my surroundings I locked up all my self-defenses and natural instincts: I already knew I was in THEIR headquarters.
“Ah, Echo, you’re finally awake!” a feminine melodious voice welcomed.
I furiously turned my head, to see a woman who looked around in her 40’s with piercing blue eyes and dazzling blonde knee-length hair. She wore a smart, sharp black and gold jumpsuit with a blazer hanging on her shoulders and thin tall heels. Stood firmly next to her was a dark-haired man with tanned skin who looked around in his late 40’s. He had solemn looking eyes and highlighted, sharp jaws. He gave the impression of a no-nonsense businessman. He wore a black all over tuxedo with formal derby shoes.
“WHO R U, WERE AM I AND Y DO U KNOW MY NAME!!!!!!” I screamed as my tummy rumbled, “also, do u have food?” I added hopefully. They raise their eyebrows. “I'm just hungry, no need to be rude,” I mumbled.
“Who are we, we are the Begonia White Rose foundation (the BWR) some call us the BBR rebels but that isn't formal. We are the counter act organization of the Begonia Black Rose’s. If you’re asking who we are personally, I’m Nat, short for Natalia, he’s Magnus, we’re the senior representatives of the organization. Normally we aren't the one to welcome new recruits, but you, are a special case.” Nat calmly explained.
“As to where you are, you have probably already worked out, you are in the BWR headquarters. Also, we know your name because we’ve been keeping a close eye on you for a while now.” Magnus announced. “Also, yes, we do have food if u REALLY need it.” he sighed.
I smiled, “you really expect me to believe that there is this ‘secret organization’ called the Begonia White Rose foundation and you’re some sort of repellants to the BBR. Nice try but I’m not fooled that easily, if u rlly have been keeping a ‘close eye’ on me, then u’ll know my motive – TRUST NO ONE!!!” I leaped into the air back flipping of the chair I’de been sitting on, neatly landing on the floor behind it. Slowly, I retreated towards the door, just as it shut behind me. DANG IT! I bent down to all fours perking my ears.
“There is nowhere to run,” Nat softly purred.
“There is always somewhere to run,” I firmly replied, “But,” I stood back up onto 2 legs, putting a hand on my hips. “I may be able to believe you’re not cappin’, IF, you can show me good, solid, FLAWLESS proof.”
A smile spread across Nat’s face, but Magnus’s stayed spotlessly emotionless.
“Please-” Nat started “Allow us to give you a tour-” Magnus continued “around the BWR-” “headquarters.” Nat stretched her arms wide out and Magnus simply folded his.
‘Welp, this is gonna be fun,’ I thought to myself as I followed the over- enthusiastic female SR, with the male SR following sternly behind…

I have to admit, they most definitely did show me good, solid, flawless and quite undeniable proof. After the tour, I agreed to join their society; after all, I don’t exactly have a choice – I’m practically homeless, I have no food and I’m being hunted down by the BBR everywhere I go, I mean, resistance is JUST what I need right now. Also, I have to admit, being in this group had some perks: I’ll be safe from the BBR, I’ll have food and shelter, I get cool high-tech gear AND, I’ll have fun, lots of fun. I mean like, there is nothing more fun than kicking BBR but right? Turns out I had to find out the hard way that it wasn’t all fun and games…

*Paddom*
My heart thunders in my chest.
*Paddom*
I peer around, dizzy, attempting to find an escape route.
*paddom*
The orb slips out of my hands, shimmering shards scatter.
* IT! I cursed, knowing that destroying the thing that they were after would only put me in more danger. Desperately, I continued to run blindly with no destination. I swished my head, left right, my greasy hair (which by now looked like seaweed) getting tangled in the process. In the corner of my eye, I spotted the flower shop. Aha! I was nearing the headquarters entrance, all I had to do now was loose the lumbering BBR goons following closely behind me, and I knew just how to do it.
I leaped onto the brick wall next to me, my grip gloves and shoes immediately clinging onto it, and, like a gecko, I climb the wall with ease, as I leap onto the roof. I lie down onto the floor so that the hems of the roof cover me: no one from below can catch a sight of me here. I lie there for a minute, watching the little dots of confused BBR secretary pass by, thinking I’m somewhere up ahead. I give a light chuckle, thrusting my hands into the air in triumph. I jump of the building, (no, I’m not crazy, I have soft landing in-built into my shoes) landing in the alley. I smile to myself; this is where it all begun. I hear the sound of my watch ticking. Well, no time to lose, I really shouldn’t be standing here thinking about the past, I must be getting ready for the future. I walk into the thick black fog that I was once scared of, walking deep into it until I can finally see light again.
“Yes – yes – sure – no,” A deep voice from beside me answers the phone.
I reluctantly peer at him, he seemed to be wearing a black and white tuxedo, a black rose and purple begonia sewn onto the front pocket of his blazer. He had dark hair, rlly dark hair, so dark that if I did not look at him for long, I would have thought he had black hair. He also had sharp, square jaws, neatly cut eyebrows and solemn eyes. He reminded me of someone. I furiously turn my focus to his wrist, in search of the BBR logo, the tattoo that they encrypt onto all of their members. I gasp, the half black rose, half begonia glaring straight at me. What was a BBR member doing at headquarter entrance, he looked like an important member too. He didn’t seem to mind that I’d found him out, he seemed to just be frowning at me, like his presence wasn’t unusual. I snapped out of the trance and tried to attack him, but my attempt was futile. He was built, like, RLLY built. He simply flung me of him before cutting of the phone.
“WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING??!!” he screamed.
“What else? You’re in our headquarters, we don’t allow members of the BBR here.” I replied defiantly.
“For your information, I’m not a part of the BBR, well, I am, but I act as a spy for the BWR.”
“We’ll see about that,” I don’t give in and decide to take my enhanced vision goggles out, to see if he has a BWR tattoo sunk into his skin like the rest of us. And indeed, he did. “looks like you are legit,”
He raises his eyebrow.
“what, were you expecting an apology or sum’?” I chuckle
“you’re Echo aren’t you. My Dad, Magnus has told me about you.”
“You’re Magnus’s sun?! Bruh, I expected you to be taller.”
“I’m 6 feet tall and I’m 6 inches taller than you, how am I not tall?!”
I shrug, “where are you headed?”
“my dad’s office, you?”
“same place.”
“he doesn’t normally accept more than one person in his office at a time.”
I shrug again before turning around to head for Magnus’s office.

“I see you’ve met my son,” Magnus says, gesturing his hands towards the big screen, which displayed me attempting, and failing, to attack his son.
I blushed in embarrassment, “Yeh, I guess-”
“Father, I wanted to speak to you, in private, what is SHE doing here?” he rudely interrupts.
“I have decided to place a meeting with, you, Viktor, and you, Echo together, because I want to place you on a mission together.” Magnus replies.
I fluster in anger at the rudeness of Viktor, and the audacity of his father: “me and HIM, on a mission together, yeh, sooo not gonna work.”
Magnus simply ignores me (RUDE!!), “Viktor, Echo, the two young masters of stealth, specialized in the department of spy. Yes, I’ve decided you two, will lead a mission, the mission that many associates have attempted, and, failed, but, I have a feeling you two will not, I’m asking you to try and penetrate into the BBR headquarters…”

The cloud variable within the project is not necessarily the cloud variable in the cloud - I know that sounds confusing but the stored value in the project is used by people who are not logged in or do not have Scratcher status and is treated as a normal variable. Not sure, but suspect the way it works is only when the project is run from the project page does it actually try to access the actual cloud value.

The cloud data log is the best way of checking what is happening.

No support.
only because of that??
It's a legitimate reason and one that the Scratch Team would likely consider heavily. It makes sense: you put things into a backpack, then you take them out of the backpack when you want to use them later.

Yup, I checked his channel, it was deleted. So I guess this is permeantly lost media.
Do you have the URL? If the channel was popular there's a chance it's on Wayback.
(If you had liked the video then check through your liked videos playlist for deleted videos - make sure to click the little three dots and click “Show unavailable videos” first! Then you can copy the video link from there.)
Edit: I should add that Wayback is weird when it comes to YouTube, and even if it has the video page, it might not have the video itself.
The direct URL to the video, if it's preserved, would be https://web.archive.org/web/2oe_/http://wayback-fakeurl.archive.org/yt/ and then after that last slash put the video's ID. (which is the gibberish in the URL that comes after the “v=” bit. make sure to delete the “&list=” and everything after that!)
Then you'll either get an error page or the video will show up. If you get a little play button with a line through it, that means the video exists but your browser can't play it. (In my experience it's always been a MP4 which pretty much anything can play, a WEBM which Chrome can play, or… an FLV, which I have no idea how to play, quite frankly. I think Flash Player if you still have a computer with that around?? Animate itself doesn't work… But that only happened on a couple of older videos, so hopefully you'll get a file you can play!! Good luck )
I actually do have Flash Player on my computer. I downloaded it for something else though.
