It may be to you, although once you understand it it's incredibly simple. I made the collision detection in 40 blocks here, and it actually took longer to learn how to use the rectangle filler in the project than it did to make the collision detection.

How it works is basically it checks for if the first x of the second rectangle is bigger than the second x of the first rectange, and does the same for y. The if-elses are used to determine which rectange is first on the y and x axes, although there might be a better method.

i need help fixing the punching bug because it acts very similar to dodging where you swap to a different sprite and stay in that sprite until the key isnt pressed which causes the punching mechanic to break for some reason

Assuming that you're italicizing just the word “is” between “child” and “successfully” using [i] BBcode tags, the filter might have tripped and thought you were referencing an initialism for an islamic terrorist group (which I would suspect would be censored for obvious reasons)… This is just a hunch though.

EDIT: Tested post, this indeed triggered the filter. Don't worry, it's not that you can't italicize “IS”. It just thinks the characters you're typing are a workaround of a terrorist organization.

We all know that scratch is mainly meant for coding. But sometimes, we can comment or collaborate with other scratchers around the world to give not only them advice but also you could actually learn some more information than you knew before. Here are some ways on how to boost new scratchers and experienced scratchers.
• Maybe when you see a project you can tell the creator of the project what he/she could do to improve it
• Find some bugs in the game and then tell them to the manager
• Don’t brag about how good you can code, if you can really code that good, tell some tips to the creator of the project you know.
• Compliment the creator for their project, even if it’s short, because they must’ve worked hard on that project
• Finally, (This is mostly for new scratchers) don’t be afraid to go out in to the world and meet other scratchers that can help you. You can tell request people to follow your studios or your projects!

You see, one thing that is made for one thing can also be used for another thing. Scratch is made for coding but also could be used for collaboration.

Things to do:
Settings Screen
Credits Screen
Cloud Functions (working on that rn)
Maybe a loading screen between transitions. I remember that our studio logo contains a hammer, so if someone could animate that into a loading screen that would be pretty cool!

Every time I type in “1713” in my What I’m Working On, it just doesn’t save.

For example, my highest message count on my What I’m Working On is “1712”. When I change the “2” to a “3” and refresh, it just says “1712” again.

I call this glitch “The 1713 Glitch”.

I'm making a scratch Platformer that you can slide on (not using Slider Variables) but when I gave the scrolling background the x collision it doesn't work it just made you unable to move, I tinkered around and nothing stuck. Does anyone have a solution?

I'm not sure how you'd test it. Suppose that you make a project, tag spam on it, and then it gets popular. How would you be able to tell that it was the tag spamming that made it popular? Maybe it was just a really good project.

From what I understand, putting any tag will allow the project to be searchable under that tag, and also puts it under certain relevant pages on the Explore page.

As far as I'm aware, there is no concrete evidence that spamming the same tag multiple times is any better than just putting the tag once. This is a popular theory, but from what I see it mainly relies on the “correlation implies causation” fallacy.

I feel like if you do a regular racing game, then you can be more creative with it by adding your own characters, items or other features. Plus, a lot of people have already done Mario Kart with Scratch characters, so people have already seen that idea before.
there are 3 options in the my blocks window the add an input (number or text) and add an input (boolean) and add a label there is also a run without screen refresh option

Friend,
The Reading and Playing forum is a place to discuss things you are reading or playing outside of Scratch, like books, TV, movies, art, music, or video games that inspire you. How does asking for follow for follow fit into any of the previously mentioned categories? You can try asking for f4f in one of the featured projects comment sections.

The term “Autism awareness month” is considered, among the autistic community, to be a bad way of naming the month. This is because these terms are presented by a company called Autism Speaks, which claims to advocate for those of us on the spectrum when they, in fact, use very unethical methods of doing things and have done nothing but spread misinformation and confusion about autism. Unfortunately, this company is very prevalent in how autism is seen and has a tendency to put a negative view on us. With this in mind, I would like to request that it is at least known the preferred term to use in support of autism during April is "autism acceptance month" and that Autism Speaks is a very bad company. I don't want to go into detail about the things they've done here, but feel free to do your own research.

If it's going on at like 3:00 PM (EST) Monday then I won't be able to play because of the eclipse
3:55PM Pacific, or 6:55 Eastern
we should host the race at 6:00
Why is that?
Because if we host it today at 6:00 there won't be as much traffic than tomorrow and most people are out of Work/School/Sports Games by 6:00

There are no other Scratch projects called “Community Craft”, so this cannot be the correct answer. SpyCoderX's answer is correct; Scratch's search engine takes a long time to update.

A quick search shows that it's being expanded to be inclusive of all forms of neurodiversity (though this seems to be only as recent as perhaps last year: https://humanresources.wp.txstate.edu/2023/04/03/your-guide-to-neurodiversity-celebration-month-how-can-you-be-an-ally/)

This changes the scope of this suggestion quite significantly; so draft posts or projects/studios may need to be redone in light of this fact.
I feel like changing the OP will be much more of a difficult change due to the enormity of neurodivergence. Neurodivergence is a very broad idea. Autism is too but with a lesser extent

I need to find a way to find a way to make the rng just more efficient. The way i use right now is
when green flag clicked
repeat (2)
add [rare] to [chance]
end
repeat (4)
add [common] to [chance]
end
Etc, etc.
But, since there's so many rarities and a cap of 400000 items on lists, it just is too inefficient.

So, I have a problem which has been twisting my brain for AGES. It has to do with the particle system. So, I made a list called “Knockable Tile Position” which tracks what's the X and Y of a Knockable tile (Trash can). Because that way, spawning particles like the FALLING trash cans in the X and Y of the trash can clone would be easy. I found a nice solution that solved only part of the problem. But the flaw about that was that you HAD to hit the trash cans in the order of the list for the particles for it to spawn correctly. Next I tried adding a column for every tile on the screen (Including air/empty), and then any tile that's a trash can and touched by a player would spawn the particle in the X and Y of the trash can and from right column. But I can't think of a solution for tracking which column is for which trash can clone.

The main part of the problem is in the Tiles sprite and the Particles sprite. There are important stuff in the player sprite too.

I would like anyone who is interested in developing a project for my upcoming project to go here, and anyone who wants a basic idea on what this is all about, go here.

I will be posting updates on this topic about the SOS project, so follow to get up-to-date information on what is coming.

April 7th, 2024: Now, unfortunately, if you have seen the trailer, you may have seen the slide about the My Suite app. In order to get it out as soon as possible, this customisation service probably will not be available at launch. I apologise for any inconvenience. This will be released in the future, either with SOS 2.0 or SOS 3.0.
Then I've seen people speculate about how Labyrinth is the story of Simon escaping, and here's what I understand from it:
The lyrics, “In the rear/I can see the beast getting close/Surrounded by ghosts in a cloud of smoke,” seem to support your interpretation that Simon was hallucinating heavily, especially the ghosts. The lyrics, “Got to find a new place to hide for the night/Will I ever escape/Boy, I try and I try/Everybody's watching me/I'm dying to get out/In the glass labyrinth, I am the mouse,” show that Simon may have escaped and now people are looking for him, and he feels entrapped by the people searching for him. He uses the analogy “In the glass labyrinth, I am the mouse,” which seems to be a reference to studies many researchers have done on mice, including making them solve mazes or labyrinths, sometimes made out of glass, which may mean that he feels like he's a test subject of some sort.
Full support!!
