1: Which POV are we writing in? (Do we each want to write in different POV's or consistent on both sides of the aisle, so to speak)
I think it would work best if we both wrote in third person objective? Just to limit confusion since we both have multiple characters?

2: Do we want to do a character or paragraph (probably preferred actually, watching characters is a pain) limit so we each have equal amounts of writing and take turns or does that not matter much?
I feel like it doesn't matter too much, but try to keep them generally simaler lengths?

3: We should make sure to have a parenthesis in the beginning or end of each post so we can communicate ideas or plot twists & plans while we continue the story.

Well, I can tell just by the title that I'm in for a treat. TLGAD is such a great song to draw inspiration from ^^

I love this opening and the description. I think that it immediately gives off the vibes of the beginning of the song and also the idea of quietly observing the landscape through a moving window. I can also so easily picture her sighing quietly to herself on the train. Absolutely incredible start <3

You used the word ‘lazy’ earlier on in the paragraph (see above ^^), and you say it again here. I know that repetition bothers some and not others, so just make your own call about if you want to switch to a synonym like passively, idly, or languidly.

I love the imagery of ‘arms’ of sunlight reaching out to the mc <3

While the extra adjectives help to provide imagery, I think that it may be coming at the cost of the line reading in a clearer way. I think that just the sheer number of commas and such makes it a bit harder to get into the flow that the rest of the piece has.

It may sound nice to change the wording to 'a diamond watch', since it avoids the repetition of ‘his’.

Everything about this. Everything. I feel like the imagery is so clear, the character-building already nicely in place, and the vibes are perfect. It feels folklorian. The way that she draws closer and smiles just gives the reader such insight into her head, even just with those small, non-verbal cues.

This is my own personal opinion, but I think it may work better to seperate these two parts, not just with line, but perhaps with a different quote box, since one reads more like a story, and the other reads like an author's note. Again, just my personal opinion, so you do what's right for you <3

The piece as a whole is amazing. It's just full of creative imagery, and like I said earlier, it has moments that sound like poetry. As you can see, most of my critique is just small little things when it comes to rhythm and flow. It's a wonderful piece with all the wonderful description and folklore-vibes as the cherry on top <3

Alrighty, you're not gonna be back for a while but this is basically a little backstory for each of them, and then a quick summary of the other important stuff that goes down–

Kay was raised mostly by her village ‘wise woman’ (kinda like the ancients you're ppls have probably); and was kinda a weirdo/outcast because, well, she's this random kid with no family except the kinda crazy-magic-old-lady so yeah. Anyways, her best friend was Mica, and he was the only one who knew that she had an amulet. Then these bounty hunters showed up, and he sorta betrayed her and turned her in to them. But she ran away, spent a while travelling around on her own, until she met Luca.

Luca was kinda just raised by the entire village, he's just a sweet kiddo and everyone loved him. He was pretty sick as a baby for some reason, and uh… not sure exactly how this works but he's… 2 years younger? than he should be? (cough weird stuff that I did because I needed him to show up at the same time as the other two and also be younger than them so uh yes–) Like technically he's fifteen but he's physically and mentally 13… okay anyways moving on– He was kinda shy, but had a great friend named Mia. Life was actually pretty amazing. Untillllllll he wore his amulet for the first time, got a giant power overload, and effectively destroyed his entire village and everyone in it . Oh but for some reason Mia survived so that this guy could show up and kill her– um yeah so then he was travelling around on his own, until he met Kay.

Xan got the short straw. Anyways, he was ‘raised’ by this guy called the General… bc I didn't give him a name…. anyways he's basically just been a soldier since he was a little kid and never had a family or friends. Anyways, a while later some stuff went down and he almost k!lled Kay and Luca, but instead he got shoved into a river, then after Kay saved him (she didn't want to, Luca insisted) he pretended he'd lost his memory so that they would let him stay with them, they ended up becoming friends. And then later he betrayed them. Kay was very happy about that. Anyways.

So a lot of stuff happens, but the super quick version is: they meet, they end up in this place called Mountain Village (yes it's a village in a mountain… eventually it'll get a better name just bear with me here xD) and make some friends, then they get betrayed/captured and go to the General's fortress place, Xan decides to desert and frees Lukay, later they all get caught by these Resistance people, but end up befriending them, then they end up in a village full of Descendants, and then… (totally not a giant plot hole here cough cough) eventually Luca gets like… controlled? um anyways and makes a bunch of shadowy monster things, lots of fighting, then Luca blasts away all the shadowy monsters and dissapears and they all thought he was dead, and thennnnnnn um everything gets fixed. Anyways, that's my story thanks for listening——

This game is in pre-release, and only five levels have been released so far.
In this game, you need to change the code to beat some levels, and even delete entire sprites! This whole game will take you on a journey, but is not complete.

To fix the immortal problem, put this script:

For the duplicated spawns problem, this will take a bit, sorry I would recommend to either add a delete this clone when I receive start, like this:

to every sprite that clones, to prevent the clones from also cloning, causing duplicate spawns, or you can make this block: (with a new broadcast)
when I receive [delete clones v]
delete this clone
and use it like this:

both of these scripts will solve the issue of the clones also making clones, hope this helps!

i have tried doing that and using rotation matrixes to create the new points but using the trigonometric operators is quite computationally expensive and slow also this is pretty much what SAT does, but more efficiently but sadly it's still slow

You can find the slope of a line and use trig to align it with an axis and rotate everything else (also using trig) accordingly and then using standard AABB-style checks, and rotate it back before you render it.
You can also use some algebra to check for the points where a line will intersect.

You could make sure that the correct costume/backdrop is displaying using the

To detect movement using the camera is exceedingly difficult in scratch. It's already hard in other programming languages, and that's when you can get the color of pixels in an image without having to run a number of if-checks on it first to find what color is at a specific pixel. You would have to either use a computer vision algorithm to detect objects in the image and track their position, and then compare those positions, or if you just wanted to know if something is moving at all you could try to figure how blurry the image is. Both are incredibly difficult to program in scratch, although a place to start would be @griffpatch's color detection algorithm.

Depends on what you need the laptop for. If you are just going to use it for basic work and web browsing, then a basic inexpensive laptop will probably work fine for you. However, if you are going to be using it for gaming or intensive tasks and multitasking, then you might want to check out higher end or gaming laptops with more RAM and higher-quality CPUs. The laptop I use is small, 8GB with a mid-grade AMD processor and it has worked well for me.

historical rpf! basically my wwi ocs swap roles with the top commanders of their nations ;D and also two of my ocs swap roles too lol
“JIXDUS!!” Ri called out loudly to his protege as he hurried along.

“Wait up, Mr. Breguet,” Jikdus huffed as they trekked through the woods. But it appeared that Ri would hear none of it, for he simply walked on faster ahead. Sometimes they wished they’d never met the strange shapeshifter from the planet of Kayows, but oh well; they were stuck with him, for better or for worse.

As the two of them walked on a farmhouse came into view. So this must be the place where Mr. Breguet visited his friends, Jikdus thought. They would’ve thought that it would be a bad idea to interfere so often in these universes, as fragile as they seemed to be, but the eccentric redhead would simply not listen. Oh well.

“Marshal Moselle!” Ri shouted almost at the top of his lungs, and a bunch of the staff officers nearby gawked at him. Well, those who weren’t used to seeing him, anyway.

“General Breguet,” Moselle sighed, facepalming. “We were in the middle of something important.”

“What’s that now?” he asked innocuously.

“See, Holtzswarth and Lutz have attacked, in case you haven’t heard,” Moselle explained.

“Oh, right. Them.”

“None other than Field Marshals Holtzswarth and Lutz, of course. So, General Fredericks was just about to offer me his troops to use in the battle. So kind of him. Captain Foch?”

Moselle turned to his aide, who handed him a letter.

“This came from Lieutenant Haig, Marshal,” Ferdinand said shortly. “Apparently some staff officer of Holtzswarth—I think a von Hindenburg?—put out some classified information. We’re not quite sure whether it’s accurate. John- I mean, Colonel Pershing did-”

A whole entire squabble rose out among the officers. And Jikdus, for their part, was feeling quite lost here.

“Mr. Breguet, what exactly are we doing here?” they asked. The thing is that the Kayowsian had showed them all of the basics of time-travelling, universe-hopping, so on and so forth, but he’d never-

“Okay, this is boring now,” Ri said annoyedly. “Where the heck is Albrecht?”

There used to be a way to see what sprites were receiving or broadcasting messages by right clicking a broadcast or when I receive block, and clicking “show senders” or “show receivers”:

i am using this for pen projects and for pen projects you have to draw erase and redraw every frame to visualize movement which is why I experience lag or my pc is bad

Also, if you're wondering why this is case, one thing you should know is scratch runs scripts in an order, so it might do the normal zombies first, then the electro etc. This is because scratch runs the scripts in order of the layers the sprites are on, so if the normal zombie sprite is at the front layer, then all it's scripts will run first.

Also not sure if this was intentional or not, but a little nitpick I had with your game is that dead zombies will still hurt you, and you can just change the damage script to have this block:
if <(costume [number v] ::looks) = (1)> then
damage scripts
end
so that that doesn't happen. Not necessary but it think it makes it better. :D


good to know also that was the intention to have the zombie blood be poisonous lol it adds difficulty

We're looking at the “boss zombie” sprite. Its coded to spawn when it receives the broadcast “bossfight”

In the “normal zombie”, “electro zombie”, and “tank zombie” sprites, at the end of the spawning scripts it should be broadcasting “bossfight” approximately 130 seconds into the game after picking up the first gun but it never seems to be doing so and instead just continuing to spawn the zombies instead of spawning the boss. Not sure what's causing this, would be nice to have somebody look into this and find the solution.
Pretty sure the issue comes along somewhere with the use of the timer block used frequently in the spawning scripts, there's definitely a better way to code that.

In this Update:
  • Remade the bullet shooting system. Now, there is a display bullet, and you can hit space to shoot in the direction.
    Redid the enemy spawning system. This may not be too balanced, but it works well.

I've been thinking about creating an experimental audio player on scratch using the change pitch effect block to fast forward to the point in the audio its supposed to. This might be useful to making It “live.” I created an accurate fast forward on the start engine!
