Read this I beg of you this is so annoying to look at just read this and get over it. The Scratch Team could make an iOS/iPadOS app at almost any time they wanted, they just need the time to do so which I'm pretty sure they do considering they can update Scratch to remove exploits in enough time where little to no one is affected.

But I just remembered a few months ago I downloaded the mobile python app on this iPad so it’s true. I hope scratch can make an app then. It might still be a lot of work, not sure

The App Store has allowed it for ages now, even Scratch Jr is available along with other “Scratch Alternatives”

This is unrelated to scratch's limitations, even a supercomputer would lag in this case, as its trying to push the box out infinitly (due to it trying and failing), so the faster your computer/device is, the more its pushing, and thus the lag is the same.

To fix this, just make it so the player gets pushed away if the box fails to be pushed.

Okay! So your first project is an intro. It looks cool, but it's also a little overstimulating? And when people look for things to engage, they want a bit more to do.
For the second, it's a simple game. Well made, but it escalates quickly and people don't like to read instructions.
Now the advice:
People look for something that makes them want to keep playing. You have a good concept, but what's the reward for escaping the cursors? Why should we try to run from them?
You can build on a lot here, but first the games need a few things:

WebGL is the thing Scratch uses to show projects. To see if you have WebGL, go to https://get.webgl.org/. If you see a spinning cube, that means you should try clearing your cache. If you don't, that means you don't have WebGL and then try updating your browser and clearing your cache. If that doesn't work, then I don't know what you can do.

Hello y'all's! I'm going to get straight to the point. My SB3 file is apparently “too big” for scratch, even though it's less than 50 MB (it's 41.19 Megabytes large). It might be a problem with my Chromebook which would make sense, but honestly I don't know why it doesn't work.

If anyone knows anything of why I might also not be able to put the file into scratch then please tell me

(If you can't clip into the box, push it into the corner). Does anyone have a solution for this, as some with possibly lower end computers might constantly clip into the box. so i tried to keep the word counts even while letting all the campers have their cabin preference - which was pretty hard since there was a huge amount of people who wanted astral readings and elemental manipulation :'D let me know if there's anyone that should be switched around!

There is already an x and y thing in project.json so it could just use that, and you can already move variables, just not with blocks.
Also, the original post was like 10+ years ago (which makes me feel old), and I think it is really clear xD

Probably this one. The instrumental is barely audible, and the drums barely sound like drums, but it has the potential to be a better song.

The extension policy ruling has been out since 2017, nearly seven years now. It would be hard to miss, especially with all the notifications given out and whatnot. Griffpatch can reach out to us requesting a discussion of regarding potential whitelist of his extension if he wishes. Otherwise, we'll be treating them all the same.

Regardless, sharing content that asks us to unblock a user is not allowed on Scratch and will not influence any decision regarding their account. The person will need to submit an appeal (and do so respectfully if they wish for a good outcome) or have an adult reach out to the Scratch Team to have the account unblocked.

Hi snowy! Your story was beautiful, so thank you for allowing me to critique

First of all, this story was AMAZING. I loved it so much! The imagery was beautiful and chilling, and the formatting was powerful and incredible. It read like a poem, the wording was so exquisite, and the story was so impactful as a whole. All of the individual titles were thoughtful and pretty, and the title of the piece was so beautiful and creative. All of your writing is absolutely amazing (I especially loved the thingy you wrote about the porcelain faces hehe) and I love your style so much. It’s obvious you’re an incredible writer, and this story was nothing short of exceptional. Excellent, beautiful job.
In terms of some specific lines that stood out to me:

“the ghosts & my mind”, “the friends i didn’t know i had”

these titles are both really cool! I don’t know if this was intentional, though, but these two titles kind of stand out because, unlike the rest of the story, they’re not written in second person. I don’t know if you’d like to change that or not, it’s up to you!

“silently. ever so silently… you don’t own anything but the darkness inside”

I’m too lazy to type out this entire paragraph, but it is AMAZING. I love that you contrasted the silence with the volume, and the part about only owning the darkness was just *chef’s kiss*. excellent work!

“they’re good at finding their way back. They can hunt for the path you’ve left, and they know you by your trails of shadows.”

this part feels a teensy bit clunky for some reason? it’s super nitpicky, but personally I’d rephrase it, maybe to “they’re good at finding their way back, hunting for the trail of shadow they know you’ve left behind.” but, of course, that’s just me lol

“to the little ghosts that hide away, you’re somebody.”

this is so powerful! I love this line sososo much hehe

“She lacks the warmth of hope and revels in the chill of frosted invisibility. she is made up of whispers…”

this is a really cool sentence! a little nitpicky but i would rephrase these sentences to make them a little less clunky? “she lacks the warmth of hope and revels in the chill of frosted invisibility, made up of whispers too silent to reach the ears of anyone but you.” but that’s totally unnecessary, just my personal preference lol

“and she sings… to make friends with the ghost.”

this bit is amazing! super cool and insightful. great work!

“a palace for the liars”

this whole part is really cool! I love the formatting, and it gives us a glimpse into the characters mind and how the ghosts slowly destroy them. love it!

I love this as well! This part is so helpful to understanding the character, and it’s super poetic and flow-y. beautiful <3

“you don’t even have to turn the knob for them to come spilling in… more so out of habit than anything.”

I LOVE THIS. You paint such a wonderful and relatable picture with this paragraph, and the wonderful descriptive language contrasts so well with the character’s attitude. this is one of my favorite parts of the whole story hehe

“buried in snow & the ashes of winter”

I love this part, because it’s a break from all the internal stuff and becomes something tangible. It also works really well establishing the character’s motivations. *clap clap*

“stone-cold silence”

Overall, I think the main thing I would like to see in this piece is some more stuff. This might be a stylistic choice, but I feel like you talk a lot about the ghosts, yet there are only three moments in the story where I feel like something tangible actually happened: when the girl comes up to them, the snow, and the breaking of the mirror. I feel like the story focuses less on plot and more on internal dynamics, but that made the story feel a little disconnected from the real world. To combat this, I would suggest adding a scene where your character does something such as going shopping or taking a walk, and you could examine the effects of the ghosts occupying their headspace. For example, your character might feel overwhelmed and anxious while in a crowded area, because the character feels the ghosts will never leave them, but they’re still surrounded by a sea of people who will never understand. This might not work for the writing comp since you’re already really close to the word limit, but it’s just a suggestion either way lol.
Overall, I feel like having the character experience things instead of just being in their own head will allow us to feel more grounded in the story, and also allow us to maybe understand the things that the character can’t exactly explain themselves.

Another thing is the progression of the character’s thought process. I didn’t really see a change from the beginning to when the character drops the glass, so I would recommend fleshing out the character’s evolution from beginning to end. the ending, overall, feels a little rushed, since you’ve spent so much time fleshing out the character’s love for the ghosts. I feel like you could also achieve this by adding in the scene that I talked about earlier, where the character goes out into the real world, and then the character learns something from that which changes their perspective on the entire matter.
I realize that you probably don’t have space within the constraints of the writing competition, but I feel like it will really enhance the story and allow it to feel more real and meaningful.

I have no idea where to start, but I should probably start with this, the Browser Extension/Userscript Policy, posted by @ceebee, a member of the Scratch Team. Personally, I think it is perfectly fine, as it means we can still keep browser extensions, just not advertise them. I just would like to share this parts of the post:

Actually, let's take a look at the browser extension. I looked through all the features. There is no private chat, no Scratchers being disrespectful to one another, just features that us Scratchers have to install browser extensions for because Scratch Team doesn't want to implement suggestions that can be actually useful! If you want to block people with NO prior warning just for that, why not block all the video game topics in TIMAC? They might be dangerous.

Please, Scratch Team. Fix this broken system. I get that Scratch is a non-profit organisation, but that doesn't really fix things from a user's point of view. Even if I owned a non-profit organisation, I would still admit my mistakes. I don't know how this will be fixed, but it must be fixed one way or another.

I sat on the ground with my knees pulled up to my chest, considering what to do. There were an infinite number of options, but only some would actually help me. Some, in fact, would hurt me. Maybe even kill me. But that was the nature of infinite possibilities - they covered an infinite spectrum from beneficial to detrimental, as well as an infinite spectrum from possible to impossible.
I was just distracting myself now.
And yet I couldn’t bring myself to get up, to go find some food or some shelter. I was tired, but not the kind of tired that came from a lack of sleep - although that kind certainly affected me as well - I was more the kind of tired that wore at you over time, slowly chipping away at bits and pieces of your willpower until you couldn’t fight it any more and just gave up.
I wanted to give up.
I stood up slowly, swaying ever so slightly with the motion. I’d been sitting there for a while. I began to pace back and forth, still unwilling to leave the alley I’d holed up in for the past few hours. When I wanted to relax and think, but the noise and motion of the city surrounded me and overwhelmed me, I would go into an alley and sit next to a dumpster. I would breathe in the unpleasant smell, and it would keep me grounded. I would sit there until there was nothing but me and the smell and the sound.
Soon, after a few minutes of pacing, I lost my motivation again - I sank down to the ground. I wanted to sleep. I wanted to sleep forever. I could not sleep forever. I had to move.
I stood back up and started pacing again. I couldn’t even imagine leaving the alley, I could only imagine pacing.
I felt emotional gravity pulling me back down yet again, and I wanted to scream in frustration. What was wrong with me? Why couldn’t I just do something? I leaned against the wall and sighed.
And then everything started to hurt.

The main thing I'm concerned about is if Scratch Team won't accept their appeal! This makes the entire system unfair. Also, I'm pretty sure not knowing its not allowed isn't a genuine reason to be unblocked; that's like killing somebody and later saying to the police, “I'm sorry, I didn't know it wasn't allowed”. No matter what the murderer thinks, the person will still be dead. If it was a genuine reason, that would be a whole issue all by it's own.

Can you please share a project with the exact code in the exact spots so we can help you further?

I have no idea where to start, but I should probably start with this, the Browser Extension/Userscript Policy, posted by @ceebee, a member of the Scratch Team. Personally, I think it is perfectly fine, as it means we can still keep browser extensions, just not advertise them. I just would like to share this parts of the post:

Actually, let's take a look at the browser extension. I looked through all the features. There is no private chat, no Scratchers being disrespectful to one another, just features that us Scratchers have to install browser extensions for because Scratch Team doesn't want to implement suggestions that can be actually useful! If you want to block people with NO prior warning just for that, why not block all the video game topics in TIMAC? They might be dangerous.

Please, Scratch Team. Fix this broken system. I get that Scratch is a non-profit organisation, but that doesn't really fix things from a user's point of view. Even if I owned a non-profit organisation, I would still admit my mistakes. I don't know how this will be fixed, but it must be fixed one way or another.

I honestly can't believe that this session is coming to an end </3 With that being said, the memory book committee is looking for a cabin blurb from each cabin that is between 50 - 75 words. For those of you who don't know, cabin summaries are a fairly new concept that was added to the memory book last session - we thought that it was a great way to give brief storyline recaps of what happened in each cabin just to serve as a nice memory timeline ;D To ensure that the blurbs can truly encapsulate the magic that happened in your cabin, we are asking you to work with your leadership team to provide us with a cabin blurb on my profile before April 5 midnight UTC.

Any blurbs not submitted by the due date will be written by the memory book committee <3 (so please let me know if you need an extension before hand, because we really want your cabin blurb to reflect what went down in your cabin ^^). If you are unsure about what to write or have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
