How about this:
when this sprite clicked
if <<[insert rating] > [4.5]>> then
set [emoji] to [:D]
else
if <<[insert rating] > [3.5]>> then
set [emoji] to [:)]
else
if <<[insert rating] > [2.5]>> then
set [emoji] to [:|]
else
if <<[insert rating] > [1.5]>> then
set [emoji] to [:/]
else
if <<[insert rating] < [1.6]>> then
set [emoji] to [:(]
else

end
end
end
end
end

though the code from V1 to click the stars would be added into this code, maybe a few changes though.
oh, and we should add a way to rate it using half stars too, so that people can give a more accurate rating.

Help!
I've been trying to make the player got pushed when touches an enemy, and here's the code I tried:
when I start as a clone
show
set size to (pick random (100) to (200))%
if <(size) < [150]> then
set [hitpoints v] to [2]
else
set [hitpoints v] to [4]
end
repeat until <(hitpoints) = [0]>
move ((2) - ((touching [Box v]) ? (1.5) : (0))) steps
point towards [Player v]
if <touching [Bullet v]> then
change [hitpoints v] by (-1)
move (-4) steps
set (brightness v) effect to (50)
wait (0) secs
clear graphic effects
end
if <touching [Player v]> then
change (health v) by (-1)
set (dmgpos v) to ((direction) * (-1))
broadcast [Ouch v]
wait until <not <touching (Player v) ?>>
end
end
delete this clone
and the player's script:
when I receive [Ouch v]
point in direction (dmgpos)
move (40) steps

please help me!

Embrace remix culture.
Remixing is when you build upon someone else’s projects, code, ideas, images, or anything else they share on Scratch to make your own unique creation.
Remixing is a great way to collaborate and connect with other Scratchers. You are encouraged to use anything you find on Scratch in your own creations, as long as you provide credit to everyone whose work you used and make a meaningful change to it. And when you share something on Scratch, you are giving permission to all Scratchers to use your work in their creations, too.

Hi! I'm having an issue where I can't see images I had previously added to a forum post, from my own cubeupload account. These images also won't render on cubeupload itself (I have to use the fullscreen option to view them), and lastly, my account gif went from an animation to a static black rectangle. The last issue may just be from my account being hacked, but I'm not certain. Can anyone please help? Thanks!

More Info: Investigating further, I see that trying to open my attached images here (I still cannot see them normally), redirects me to a cloudflare “Connection Timed Out” page. Is cubeupload currently down?

There was a suggestions forum? How do I move the discussion to the suggestion forum?
Alright, this also happened to me! I am just a normal 11 year old whos just trying to work on a big project and i posted it while its not finished to let people play it. And this person just copied it, said it was all his, and claimed i was copying him! ive stayed up late last night trying to report him, comment on his project to please delete it, and not take all the credit! and on my project he also insulted me without any reason! I'm just trying to be patient and tell him to delete his project. On my project, i specifically said that please do not remix this or it will be reported. Like… Hello? does he know what dates are? People can just look at the dates when mine was posted, my project was posted 2 WEEKS before! I really need help. And plus he remixed mine, saying i copied him when, HELLO?????? HIS ACCOUT WAS CREATED 4 HOURS AGO LAST NIGHT!!!! AND HE ALSO REMIXED MY PROJECT FIRST THING WHEN HE CREATED HIS ACCOUNT!!!! LIKE, HELLO????? how in the world does someone code a game that has 2.1k blocks of coding in it???? and i just need help. his user is: Sigma_SKIBIDI21

i know. im not joking its his user. Thank you to the people whove read this.

when stop clicked
make this a hat block and add it here on scratch
That would cause a lot of problems. There would be no way to stop the project completely, since every time you try to, it just runs the script.
Workarounds already exist that as you said, make the project impossible to stop, and they don't cause problems. However, an official way to do this is not in the interest of the scratch team as per “The Official List of Rejected Suggestions”:
1.2 “When stop sign clicked” hat block
This block would allow users to click the stop sign to run a script. However, the stop sign is designed to stop all the scripts in the project. With this block in place, more scripts will start when you want the project to stop, thus defeating the purpose of the stop sign. Regardless, there are workarounds for this block using the timer or ghost effect blocks; these can be found in this post.

This suggestion extends to any block that causes a script to be run as a result of the stop sign being clicked, not just the specific hat block below. For more information, see this post.

I'm pretty sure you cannot delete a clone via a broadcast message. The code won't work if it looks something like this:

when I receive [Message v]
delete this clone

I would suggest setting a variable to delete the clone, something like this should work:

when I start as a clone
forever
if <(Delete Clone?) = [True]> then
delete this clone
end
end
Yes you can delete clones from a broadcast. I just tried it.

In a couple of forum posts, I've seen people quote the entire OP (original post) and it's very annoying. If you're making a post, (and don't quote someone) you're basically already quoting th OP, so there's no need to do that.

Well, I know i literally just quoted you but jokes aside,
If the OP is too long sometimes scratch reduces is it like:

{Insert long paragraph}…

So basically, scratch reduces it from

5-6 paragraphs

\/
2 paragraphs {…}

The 3 dots is the contraction of the rest of the paragraphs/excess writing.

However, Scratch barely does this its happened to me once or twice so I think that instead of removing being able to quote the OP scratch should reduce it automatically. OR we'll have to do it manually….

Anyway if you read this much thanks for reading <3

If scratch were to convert all projects to 16:9, everything would break and look bad, as all projects were built with 4:3 in mind. Even if scratch team were to make it a toggleable option, people would still soon begin to migrate entirely to 16:9, and overall begin to prefer it. Leaving the poor 4:3 projects into dust as the child creators either don't want to, or don't know how to convert them into a 16:9 project.
What's so wrong? Even though YouTube supports 16/9 videos, I can still make a 4/3 video and upload it. It's not a problem that the 16/9 size will become more common, because it's what most screens use anyways.

DABICCO wrote:

(#198)
This would inevitably make everyone switch to 16:9 and 4:3 being removed in a later update due to inactivity.
I don't think so. For the same reason they kept hacked blocks (even though almost no project uses them), they will keep 4/3. Also, the environment is made to support changing the resolution, so it's not much of a maintenance issue.

DABICCO wrote:

(#198)
Adding on, 4:3 is clean, simple and neat
Really, what makes 4/3 clean, simple and neat?

DABICCO wrote:

(#198)
A toggle would be confusing for younger kids…
Even the youngest kids still adjust settings in software.

DABICCO wrote:

…as they wouldn't know why their teachers screen is in 16:9 but theirs are in 4:3.
That's why they've got a teacher. To teach them why.

DABICCO wrote:

(#198)
So they'd all get confused and switch to the FAR inferior, Scratch JR, or even worse, the paid Tynker. Deserting the entire scratch website for probably indefinitely. (thanks to TheSmartGuy1234 for that)
You're overreacting. It's a minor comfusion. They don't get confused because their teacher uses high-contrast blocks, or has the demo sprite as Gobo, either.

DABICCO wrote:

(#198)
so unless they higher this limit (very unlikely) 16:9 would be incredibly awful for the 10mb asset storage limit, as you would need more space to draw your sprites, and thus, more storage usage.
For vector graphics, the only thing that matters is the amount of shapes. Not the size.
For both graphics types, Scratch only stores the actual drawn area of the costume, without the blank space.
And even if you fill the screen, it would only require 33% additional pixels, which is not that much. It's a choice.
Also, this wouldn't even change the number of assets: the limit is 10 mega per asset; there is no limit to the total size.
MasterPC7 MasterPC7 loading
But even with comments, it gets really messy. Sometimes, no matter how many comments you add, it's not going to fix the problem. But if you could group the scripts together into a collapsable folder like thing, you could group scripts based on what they do. Or maybe just allowing users to rename the script and collapse it down, to save space. And you also can't comment sprites, and you can't create infinate clones, because there is only so many you CAN make before they stop cloning. folders for sprites would be really nice, so we can group things together.
