Yup, I checked his channel, it was deleted. So I guess this is permeantly lost media.
Do you have the URL? If the channel was popular there's a chance it's on Wayback.
(If you had liked the video then check through your liked videos playlist for deleted videos - make sure to click the little three dots and click “Show unavailable videos” first! Then you can copy the video link from there.)
Edit: I should add that Wayback is weird when it comes to YouTube, and even if it has the video page, it might not have the video itself.
The direct URL to the video, if it's preserved, would be https://web.archive.org/web/2oe_/http://wayback-fakeurl.archive.org/yt/ and then after that last slash put the video's ID. (which is the gibberish in the URL that comes after the “v=” bit. make sure to delete the “&list=” and everything after that!)
Then you'll either get an error page or the video will show up. If you get a little play button with a line through it, that means the video exists but your browser can't play it. (In my experience it's always been a MP4 which pretty much anything can play, a WEBM which Chrome can play, or… an FLV, which I have no idea how to play, quite frankly. I think Flash Player if you still have a computer with that around?? Animate itself doesn't work… But that only happened on a couple of older videos, so hopefully you'll get a file you can play!! Good luck )
No I don’t, sadly.

Why not? Is this due to the fact that some school emails do not accept messages from outside domains?
I think I have a problem with the global high score system I made using cloud variables. When I looked into the cloud data, the high score was most recently changed to 136. But when I looked into the project, it displayed 112. I ended up changing it manually. Here's the system I used:
when green flag clicked
forever
if <<(points) > (☁ Highscore)> and <not <(username) = [TheGreenestSlimey]>>> then
set [☁ Highscore v] to (points)
end
end
Am I doing anything wrong? Do I not know something? I'm really confused.

Okay, fine.

AI wrote:

1. Customization: Hoodies offer an additional layer of customization to characters or sprites within the Scratch program. Users can personalize their characters by adding or removing hoodies, choosing different colors, or even designing their own patterns or logos for the hoodies.
Good reason, although you probably could have written this out instead of relying on AI for this reason.

AI wrote:

2. Visual Appeal: Hoodies can make characters more visually interesting and relatable, especially for projects involving human or humanoid characters. The addition of hoodies can help bring characters to life and make them more engaging for users.
This is essentially the same as reason #1, so it shouldn't have really been included.

AI wrote:

3. Realism: For projects aiming for a more realistic representation of characters or scenarios, adding hoodies can contribute to the overall authenticity. This is especially relevant for projects involving scenes set in contemporary or casual settings.
This is essentially the same as reason #1, so it shouldn't have really been included.

AI wrote:

4. Coding Challenges: Incorporating hoodies into Scratch projects can introduce coding challenges related to animation, interaction, and customization. Users can learn how to program the hoodie to move realistically with the character's movements or to react to certain events within the program.
This one's not really even true, so it shouldn't have been included — adding a hoodie to the sprite library doesn't really give any ideas of how to code its movement. This highlights one reason why one should not rely on AI to write suggestions.

AI wrote:

5. Expression of Personality: Hoodies can serve as a means for users to express the personalities of their characters. Different styles of hoodies can convey various traits or moods, allowing users to tailor their characters to fit the tone or theme of their project.
This is essentially the same as reason #1, so it shouldn't have really been included.

AI wrote:

6. Educational Value: Introducing hoodies to Scratch projects can provide opportunities for learning about graphic design, animation, and user interface design. Users can experiment with different hoodie designs and animations, gaining valuable skills in digital creativity and design.
This is essentially the same as reason #1, so it shouldn't have really been included.

TL;DR There is only one human-given benefit: “It will not do any harm.” There is also only one AI-given benefit: “Hoodies offer an additional layer of customization to characters or sprites within the Scratch program.”

Faith has been watching all the other SWC-ers make plans that were decent, but she pridefully thinks hers was the best. The plan was to pretend to be on Gurtle’s side- who would believe that but the silly turtle himself?- and then attack at the perfect moment, yet she wasn’t sure how soon that would be.
She hears a roar behind her, and swirls around swiftly. Standing behind her is the ten-foot-tall Gurtle, flaming procrastination potatoes at the ready.
“Hi, Gurtle,” Faith says, trying to sound brave but her voice is quivering.
“ROAR RAWR.” Gurtle states in reply.
“Okay? Anyways, Gurtle… I have mangoes!” Faith says, thinking up a plan as soon as she can, even though she has no idea where the nearest mango is- that isn’t burnt, anyways.
“WHERE.” Gurtle demands, then tilted his head and added some more flair. “ROAR RAWR!”
“Um… in my room!” Faith comes up with this idea quickly, but she knows she has a stash of mangoes somewhere… for cabin wars, of course, but she isn’t sure where exactly.
“GIMME NOW.” Gurtle roars, then, of course, adds a few ‘roars’ after his statement, “ROAR RAWR.”
Faith runs to her room, finding her mango stash hidden away behind her mango-decorated clothes, by her now too-small mango shoes.
Gurtle’s eyes lit up when he spied the mango. He grabs it from Faith’s hands, and slowly chews away. “Om nom nom,” he taunts, but Faith doesn't care. “YUMMY MANGO.”
Then Faith had an idea. “Mangoes for Gurtle,” she said simply. “If he gives up SWC.”
“NO RAWR RAWR!!” Gurtle says, instantly spitting the mangoes out. “BLAHRG.” He narrowed his eyes, and Faith awwwed. After all, he was still the cutest turtle on the planet, even though he isn't good anymore. For now, anyway.
She didn’t realize what was coming until a potato sack was over her and she was in darkness, thrown over Gurtle’s shoulder as he hums an unfamiliar tune.
Wiggling around, she tries to escape. “GAHH!” she screams. “Let me go!!”
“Mwahaha!” Gurtle said giddily, skipping- Faith could tell because she was annoyingly being bounced around.
Soon, the feeling became soothing and she fell to a deep sleep…
to be continued…

Yes, this does in fact help me alot because it helps me find a chain from one post about something, to the dupe which allows me to find them much easier because I use Google search, not ocular/ other search engines to find posts.

I see no reason to dustbin dupes, as the dustbin still takes up server space, and dupes don't clog up the forums when usually they're not even on the first 3 pages when closed.

Since the scratch assets block, I have not uploaded a single image into the scratch forums. Why? because it's hard for me to use Cubeupload. I have to take a screenshot, open snip and sketch, save the screenshot, log into cubeupload (which never saves my login for some reason), find and upload the file, and then paste the link. This is a much more difficult process than the previous take a screenshot and paste that I used to have to do.
Before Scratch assets, this was the intended method to upload images. It was never intentional to make it easier. The fact that this process is so cumbersome is beneficial since then trolls will be less likely to upload inappropriate images.

Given that, this is rejected:

The Official List of Rejected Suggestions wrote:

10.3 Remove restricted image hosts or add your own websites

By requiring an image host website (such as cubeupload) to be used when posting images on the forums, this decreases the chances of inappropriate images being posted on the forums, as inappropriate images are not allowed on these image host websites. The Scratch Team does not have the time to whitelist everybody's websites, especially when acceptable websites already exist.

Years ago, the Scratch forums suffered from trolls who continually spammed the forums with highly inappropriate images. It got so bad that the [img] tag had to be temporarily disabled so it could be improved. Certainly Scratchers would prefer to have to use an image hosting website rather than not being able to post images at all.

If you're using broadcasts, the issue is because since all clones respond to broadcasts, they will also clone themselves. A simple fix to this would be to make a variable, for this sprite only, like this:
(clone?)
and we can use to to make sure only clones do the cloning, like this:
when green flag clicked
set [clone? v] to (0)
... // your other green flag stuff

when I start as a clone
set [clone? v] to (1)
... // other clone code

when i receive [buy fish v]
if <(clone?) = (0)> then
... // buying fish code here
This works because if you have a variable “for this sprite only” each clone and the mainsprite can have it set to different values, so each clone will have it as “1” and the main sprite will have it as “0”. Hope this helps!

I think I'm going to shut Aviate down soon. Before you ask why, I have my reasons that I hope you'll understand.

First and foremost: ScratchDB. Due to the volatile nature of ScratchDB, Aviate statuses have never been as reliable as I would have liked them to be. It has been down for quite a while recently, and doesn't look like it's coming back up any time soon. Aviate heavily relies on it for all scratch-related statistics, so it being down essentialy renders Aviate's best features useless.

Secondly: ocular. A while ago jeffalo and I were planning on merging Aviate into ocular. I even extracted the status system into an npm package (source of which is here: https://github.com/MystPi/scratchstatus ) for use in ocular. Recently jeffalo has been very busy and not able to integrate the package, but I think he should be able to do it eventually. Even if not, having a package for the status system is more useful IMO since it is fully customizable and doesn't necessarily need to rely on ScratchDB.

Lastly: maintenance, hosting, db, etc. etc. etc. Aviate's dynamic images have been down for quite a while now (I think due to a package not following semver correctly and introducing a breaking change ) and there really isn't any motivation to fix it. Scratch Auth has been having some issues. The site is constantly being fetched by some random person/bot/whatever (more than 75,000 invocations this month alone!) who Vercel won't let me block. These things add up!

So with all that said, Aviate will probably be offline sometime soon. Don't know exactly when, but until then if you want your status to be saved, it's up to YOU to copy it now from the dashboard and save it somewhere locally.

Sidenote: it might seem like I'm blaming ScratchDB for all of these issues. I'm not. I completely sympathize with lefty who has all these random Scratch services depending on their storage and servers. They probably want to shut down ScratchDB just like I want to with Aviate. And I get that! Maintaining stuff like that is hard, especially in lefty's case.

Part 3.

Alana: Hi Luna! I'm Alana, a detective who's currently trying to solve a case. It has come to my attention that you were present at the scene where it happened.. do you know why I've called you here today? Apart from that I mean. One might say that every witness holds at least a bit of truth..

Luna: Kind of-

Alana: Ohh.. trying to avoid the question here I see. Don't worry, I have my ways of dealing with these scenarios! Just letting you know that I'm much more nicer when you're on my good side, so if you have any idea of why you're here, then you better tell me!

Luna: Well- you're questioning me, aren't you?

Alana: Ahaha I suppose I'll stop beating around the same bush. I'm probably going to get nothing out of you if we continue like this. Hmm.. time to change up my method. Well that being said, let's start off with a fairly easy question! Who would you rather have as a pet, Gurtle or Smarlls?

Luna: Ah! I would have to say Gurtle. Plus, I'm not sure who Smarlls is!

Alana: AHA! See.. the thing is, I have my suspicions that you're more than just a witness, you know? Although on your file it says that your “innocent” I'd like to believe that there's more to this story… I mean I'm investigating Gurtle's kidnapping - don't you think it's fishy that you'd want him as a pet?

Luna: U-uh I'm not sure what you're talking about! I'm just an innocent witness! I saw where Gurtle was last- I promise you I'm innocent!

Alana: Hmm I'll let that bit go for now- But do spill! Where did you see Gurtle last? Perhaps that could help me figure out who stole him…

Luna: I think I've seen him near The Mill- which makes me question your innocence. Maybe you are the one who Ireally stole Gurtle. What do you say to that?

Alana: Oh! Accusing me, the very trustworthy detective now, are you? Well I don't appreciate it when my witnesses begin to lie.. otherwise, what's the point of summoning you here?! I do supposed that there's a chance that Gurtle may have wandered off with either Fern or Flounder, but I find that highly unlikely considering the current circumstances.

Luna: I'm not lying, am I? But anyways, maybe you're right, he did wander off with one of them. I think I saw someone near the mill, though.

Alana: I mean, I can't tell you if you're lying or not. Your job is to remain honest when being questioned - that is your sworn duty as a witness.. Innocent? Guilty? Well, that's for me to decide when I see the rest of this case unfold. I do appreciate your intel, though I can't help but question the sources due to our current situation. With that let me ask you one more thing. Did you have a prior relationship with Gurtle? By this, I mean.. have you ever talked with each other perhaps?

Luna: I promise you; I am honest! Honesty is a valued principle in my life, and I try to go by it at almost all times. But let us talk about Gurtle the turtle now. Yes, I have talked to Gurtle before. We were talking about swc and the campers, and eventually I began to lecture him about eating links and how it may be upsetting to some campers. I think he should go to turtle jail for such a crime. Don't you?

Alana: Hmm.. changing the topic now I see- I mean, it's nice to know that you guys have talked, but it doesn't seem like you have the best relationship with Gurtle. All the more reason to kidnap him, you know…Aside from this, have you ever interacted with Gurtle? I honestly have my doubts at this point.

Luna: You may think what you want! I'm just a witness. But no, not really, it was just that one time. It's not like we're enemies, you know? Anyways, it seems I have to go. Goodbye, thank you for interviewing!

My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 122.0.0.0, No Flash version detected

Not sure if this is a bug or not. But what is happening;
The parent sprite creates a clone with a certain ID, let's call it Initialiser
The Initialiser creates another with a different ID, let's call it Beam, which uses a custom block to set values of two local variables, x and y
The Beam then creates 8 more with a different ID, called Particles, which serve as particles for a visual effect - these make their own use out of x and y. But the Beam's creation of the Particles leads to its x and y values being overwritten and set to those of one of the Particles, resulting in consistent but totally unwanted behaviour. What's going on here?

Note: This topic is for suggesting studios to be featured. If you want to suggest a project, follow this link.

Know a cool studio? Suggest it to be featured on the homepage here. You’re welcome to suggest studios you created or studios created by someone else. We’re looking for studios for all sorts of project types and topics!

Here are some things we look for in studios we feature:
- Provides an interesting prompt that inspires Scratchers to be creative and make projects
- Is focused on a specific project type or topic– for example, mouse trail projects or projects about historical fashion. We find that more specific prompts can be more inspiring!
- Has at least one active manager (two managers is even better), but not tons of managers
- Has fewer than 100 projects
- Has at least 2 projects that serve as good examples of what can go in the studio
- Does not allow anyone to add projects (for safety reasons), but does invite anyone to ask for their project to be added by a curator.
- Does not have an animated gif as its thumbnail (because that slows down the front page)
- Is not an Add Everything studio
- Not required but awesome: Description is in multiple languages and/or invites Scratchers to help translate it

Please try not to post the same studio multiple times! It would be especially helpful if, when proposing a studio, you explained how the studio provides a unique, interesting, and specific prompt for Scratchers.

(This is a new topic created on July 12, 2023 because the old one got too big.)

My studio is on the rise with team of friends i would love to have a shoutout boost!

To be clear! This is NOT button mapping. The suggestion is to have a separate group of blocks (as a Scratch extension) with analog and rumble support!!
This topic is about developing a Nintendo Switch extension, not a XBOX one.
Did you just tell the OP what their topic is about?
It's for general controller support, which is easy wirb the right lib.

I have been active on this suggestion thread which has been open for over 5 years now with many various supporters along the way. The ST has openly said it is not rejected, yet there has been no visible progress (to my knowledge) on the implementation of USB Gamepad support. A few supporters and I would like to take things into our own hands and make a pull request to the Scratch GitHub for this feature. We are unsure how to proceed and would like some help/advice on the matter. set [x pos v] to (x position)
set [y pos v] to (y position)
end

Note that x pos and y pos should be a “For this sprite only” variable for it to function nvm

Can you upload a picture on how your background looks like? There are many ways to scroll backgrounds.
