I'm making a fighting game with 2 characters, and player 2 is a clone of player 1. When I press w, player 1 jumps and changes to the jump costume, as intended. When I press up arrow, player 2 jumps, but doesn't change sprites. If I manually activate the code, it changes player 1 to the jump costume instead. I don't know why this happens and I can't fix it. The code is the same for each, and player 2 has to be a clone for the game to work.

-1: Make the game auto clicker proof, i tested it with and it worked doing insane dmg to blocks.
-2: Make it so that when you try to buy an upgrade but you have no money it displays a message saying that you don't have enough money.

Add sensors to see if the player passed the cave spikes in the tutorial so they don't lie.
But honestly, this is a pretty awesome game! (wish you introduced the “dash” mechanic though)

I am checking you're game out, and it's very complicated! Although im really interested and it does look like a hidden gem of a game i come here with a suggestion:

Make the game show the most complex features later into the game!
Yes, only show the essential in the beginning and go explaining it along as the player progresses so it makes the learning of the games mechanics easier!

Of course this is only a suggestion and if you want you could keep the game like this, incase you dont know how to implement this i can give you an example:

The overkill feature, you could only show it when the player gets an overkill! Instead of showing it way before the player is able to do it.

Hello
I have made new upgrades, new turrets, new enemies …. I've been making progress.
But as always there are problems, I think there are only two at the moment:
1- The ice turret has an additional upgrade which is to increase the time an enemy is frozen. In all the other upgrades it was easy because there was a variable to know which turret to upgrade, but it was a variable only for that sprite. Instead, this upgrade is programmed on another sprite (enemy) so I can't use that variable. I had thought about sending a message to do the freeze part in the sprite that has the variable (the turret sprite), but in the program there are also more variables just for that sprite. In the end I found an alternative variable, but it only worked if you had the turret selected.
2- The second one is for a new enemy, that when you destroy it has to split small enemies, hence the name split. I created it, made the movement and everything, but I left out the important part of the split. I had thought that I could, inside the block that I have for when they are destroyed, if the enemy is the split send a message that spawns 5 small enemies, but it doesn't work (the spawn is a block that I have made that says the speed, life that each type has and creates them as clones). They start appearing from wave 7 onwards.
Instead of playing the game to get the money, see if it works etc. I've made it so that if you press the Q key it adds money and also if you make the “IceTurret_FreezeTime” list visible you can see if it improves or not.

Ok, by the looks of it you have the bullets and enemy’s doing there things when the backdrop is 2, so this solution is assuming that is the case,
The glide block you have running is the main cause of your issues, its basically the equivalent of having it wait 8 seconds, so once it starts that glide to block, it will not continue with the code until it has finished gliding

Heres a solution id recommend if you are ok with this “enemy” pointing towards “Tom”:
forever
if <(backdrop #) = [2]> then
point towards [Tom v]
move (Insert the speed you want here) steps
if <touching [bullets v] ?> then
next costume
if <(costume #) = [3]> then
hide
end
end
end
end
This script above is also optimized to reduce the amount of un-needed scripts running at once, you can separate them again if i misunderstood the situation they are being used in, its just running a lot of (if) blocks per second causes a slight amount of lag

If you do not want the enemy to point to “Tom” then you can do:
forever
if <(backdrop #) = [2]> then
set [Prev Direction v] to (direction)
point towards [Tom v]
move (Insert the speed you want here) steps
point in direction (Prev Direction)
if <touching [bullets v] ?> then
next costume
if <(costume #) = [3]> then

This just does the same thing but points away again after its done, you might want to put the entire thing into a custom block with screen refresh disabled, the sprite might be flashing if not

While yes, Scratch-Minion’s solution works perfectly, another thing that might help is, if possible, reducing it to a when a key is pressed, having a wait until block in a forever loop could interfere with a lot of things, so this would be a little more efficient

Not only does this remove a wait until block, it will also reduce the amount of if blocks being executed per loop
Little bit of nerdy info here
(If else) and (if) blocks are the largest cause of lag, having them in a forever loop will lead to it activating an (if) block every frame, even if the condition is false, the original script also had 2 (if) blocks, so even more. When it is put in the (when key pressed) block, the script will only check the if block when that key gets pressed, therefore reducing the total lag. While it may not seem like much, stuff like that can build up. It’s also better to have that knowledge for any future large projects you might make

Just a heads up that it's not possible to have projects only visible by those who are a part of a certain studio. Honestly, unless you're planning on this project getting front-paged or on Trending, the NFE tag won't really do much, so you're probably fine without getting the NFE tag. Without the NFE tag, people will still be able to search for your project, but I feel like only fans of the song/artist would search things up related to that song, so you wouldn't be getting dunked on by any haterz.
