There's a pretty cool infinite sum that can be used to calculate pi:

However, it's pretty slow. You have to sum like the first thousand terms of the terms to get like the first four places of pi.

There's a faster one called the Machin formula, but it requires a little more math:

You can find the arctangent block from the operators section:

How about we make something completely new?

What about a skyblock server? We would create a very small island (only 500 blocks in each direction). With very limited resources. We divide players into 4 groups randomly, and place them on each corner of the island. The players arent allowed to leave their quarter of the map or go into the center area. Every sunday, we place a chest with rare resources (diamonds, lava, iron, whatever else and as the time goes on the loot gets better) in the middle of the map, and every faction can fight over this chest (you arent allowed to open this chest until every other enemy has been killed, and keepinv would be on for the duration of this battle, so that people would be focused on defending the chest, and not looting other players.) After 2 months, or the 8th sunday, we allow players to go into other players quarter and the last faction standing wins.

TLDR: limited resource skyblock server with hunger games style feasts.
I like that idea, but maybe we could make it be on a Saturday instead? Also what if we did a superflat minecraft server? I've been watching Mogswanps no structures superflat videos and they're really cool. I think for a lot of people a superflat with structures would be better

thinking a specific Scratch platformer series from 2017 (?) ish

there was 8 or so games in the series- each one was named with *name of color* and then *another word for world/land* … each game had a different synonym for world/land and so on …. like “yellow world” “red city” “purple area” “blue realm” .. none of these were the names but they were all called similar things like this
each game was based on a color, and had platforms and blank player of the color, but a darker shade of it in the background… it was a very clean design and each level had obvious effort put into it. there was no moving platforms, but just how each shade fit together was very pleasing making it really enjoyable to play

fairly simple levels, but each game in the series introduced a new control- such a one that killed enemies, jumping higher, etc. there keys for these special controls were Z,X,C … and continued along the last row of the keyboard
most levels had text on them, but the text was written letter by letter, and while it spelled out you couldn't move the character, which was pretty irritating

there was also a studio by the creator of the series made which had all of them in it

any links lmk!!! even if you think it might not be it, i may be misremembering some details (tho i dont think so lol)
thanks!!

oh one last thing! even though i the series was made years ago i played it a month or so ago so its very likely it's still up

I'm wondering if there's any way to get these projects/comments taken down faster because ST leaving them up is exposing more and more children to these adult topics.
The only way this can be done is if you contact the Scratch team somehow, and the only way this can be done is through their Scratch profile, Contact Us and Reporting. So if you have alrighty done that, all you can do is, without spamming of course, resend those messages.

Scratch Extensions make it possible to connect Scratch projects with external hardware (such as LEGO WeDo or PicoBoard) or sources of information on the web. They add a collection of command and reporter blocks that can be used to interact with a particular device or data source. When an extension is enabled, its blocks appear in the “More Blocks” palette. For more information, see the Scratch Wiki.

Can I suggest some new extension? If I can, please let me!
1. Physics: Adding gravity as well as basic physics to scratch projects are a PAIN. I myself has created a loooot of projects containing physics. Trust me, I would LOVE if @griffpatch's extension was added!

2. Text-Based coding: Learning scratch is cool! But, what if you want to learn textbased programming? As a Unity and Scratch programmer, I would like if scratch would support other languages. Meaning, you can convert scratch coding into Unity,Java or Python code.

That's it so far. It would make a difference if these were added. Well, goodbye! And have a nice day! ~@Acha_Coder, 27,10,2022

2. Use tosh
I'm not afraid to say it, Scratch Auth sucks, and this Discussion forum is not helpful at all. (removed by moderator - please don't encourage inappropriate sites) should just use an actual create account system instead of this garbage. Like you can't even sign in without a thousand “Failed Authentication” messages, and if you're lucky, you ALMOST sign in but then it says “Bad Gateway”

Yes, but that was just an example. Many other cloud lists do exist, especially more efficient ones for that purpose. The specific point I tried to make was that it is practically possible to use a cloud list for such a mentioned purpose and that, though I didn't mention this originally, has been done alrighty.

Sure.

Here we have Scratch Cat and its hitbox, which is in red.

Here's the code that I use to move the hitbox around:
when green flag clicked
forever
if <key [w v] pressed?> then
change y by (10)
end
if <key [s v] pressed?> then
change y by (-10)
end
if <key [d v] pressed?> then
change x by (10)
end
if <key [a v] pressed?> then
change x by (-10)
end
end

I always want Scratch Cat to follow my hitbox because that's the costume I want to show the player:
when green flag clicked
forever
go to [hitbox v]
end

Usually, we don't want to see the hitbox, so we can set the ghost effect to 100. That makes sure the hitbox can still interact with other sprites, but you can't see it:
set [ghost v] effect to (100)

That doesn't compute pi. It renders a fixed list of digits. Scratch isn't precise enough to hold more than 9 or 10 digits of pi.
What do you mean? You can store that many digits. You would, at most, save it as an item of a list, but you can definitely store all of those digits, specifically, you can definitely store more than the mentioned 9 or 10 digits.

If a user could change their username (or even set a certain “nickname” or “display name”), this could be very confusing for the Scratch community, especially for those following that user. In addition, this would make moderation of the website more difficult because it would be harder for the Scratch Team to keep an eye on what a user may be doing. The Scratch Team has allowed username changes only on very rare occasions, such as if the username contains personal information or causes gender dysphoria. Generally, the Scratch Team does not change usernames on request (including for reasons such as “I do not like my current username anymore”).

However, because of the way that usernames are stored on the server, changing the cases of letters in your username (for example, changing @Za-Chary to @ZA-CHARY) is NOT rejected; you can discuss it on this topic.

the antilgbtq project had 1 view and the other one had more than 2 reports (2 people claimed to report it)
Cloud variables have a maximum length of 256 digits. 10240 was the old length back in early Scratch 2.0.

Cloud variables that go over the maximum length will still work, meaning you can still use them in your project as regular variables. They won't save on other people's computers though. So if the previous value was 7 and the new value was 1000000… (300 digits), the people on the other end would still see 7 since the long value won't be saved on the cloud server.

It's in the name, you make a box that detects if things hit it. In a nutshell, you would put your normal movement controls in the hitbox (like WASD). Then it would check if it was touching anything, like walls or enemies. If you want to make graphics for the character, you can set the ghost effect of the hitbox to 100 and make a new sprite follow the hitbox.

It is well documented that a certain number of reports will cause a project to be temporarily removed and the creator temporarily banned (I have seen screenshots indicating the ban is for 90 minutes). I don't think the exact number is known, and it's possible that there are various factors affecting it so it may not be the same for every project. However, importantly, the takedown will be undone after the Scratch Team reviews the project if they find nothing wrong with it. Most people who say their project was taken down to to false reporting/mass reporting are either confused about the reason it was taken down or outright lying for sympathy.

See this essay for more information.

Back to OP: so we’ve established that 5 reportsa certain number of reports = auto-takedown but if your curious as to if more but less then 5 reportsa certain number of reports mean more priority, I can’t give a certain answer as I am not a part of ST and am not aware of moderation specifics, but I THINK that more reports don’t move the project in the report queue.
