as other users have said, proposing a studio to be featured is available, and you can also visit the things i'm reading and playing forum to discuss individual books. but i do see why this would be wanted, because featured studios aren't featured forever, and the forums aren't used by every single scratcher out there. i really, really like the idea of a scratch team-hosted studio that's easily accessible for discussion of books, but i unfortunately must say no support, because as #8 mentioned, moderating this sort of thing would be really hard, because lots of books out there aren't appropriate for the website. it's certainly possible, but it'd only work well if the moderation team was expanded, and a scratch team approved list of books is created. both would be really hard to do, and would probably make the scratch team's already busy schedule more complicated.

I'm working on a project where I have a large map, and I want to recognize and locate where certain patterns or sections within that map are.

Could I make a smaller sprite (like a cut out section) that resembles the part on the map that I want to locate, and then have it somehow detect its position within the map, essentially finding its location on the map? Maybe by moving the sprite around until it detects that the part of the map it is touching matches with itself perfectly? Or could I scan for a certain array of pixel colors that match the section I want to locate? How could I get this to work?

this was a chapter book that was read to me in the 2018/2019 school year. i'm from canada btw.

plot:
- boy and his parents are visiting relatives (aunt and uncle?) who live off the grid
- long drive to area with lots of forested areas
- i think they may have a dog? or maybe the relatives do?
- the boy is reluctant to visit, i think because he just wants to go on his phone or something, doesn't like the idea of off grid living
- get to house, meet up.
- in the evening the boy goes for a walk
- something chases him??? i don't know
- he ends up getting lost in the ‘backyard’ of the house and is calling for his parents
- rolls down a hill and has leaves stuck to him
- i think he ends up hurting his hand, arm or leg and there is blood/ it's very painful
- he ends up sleeping a half rotten tree trunk covered in leaves to keep warm
- next morning he is hungry but still lost

we never ended up finishing the book at school, so we only got this far. i would say maybe 1/4 though?
any help would be great! i am thinking of contacting the teacher that read this to me as i have thought about it for years now, and i want to see what happens in the story.
