Hello, everyone! It's seems as if there has been no Ace Attorney topic, so I decided to make one!

This is the Ace Attorney topic, where you can talk about Phoenix's “Objection,” accuse a orca of a crime, and much more!

To anyone that doesn't know, in the Ace Attorney games you are a lawyer defending people (or doing the exact opposite) who other lawyers think that person has committed a crime. You search around for evidence, present the evidence and respond to other people's questions, and the judge comes the case's conclusion.

Also, please comment what character you like the most! Is it Maya? Is it Edgeworth? Is it Apollo?

These games are brilliant! I don't play enough of them as I should.
I currently only own Dual Destinies and the Professor Layton crossover. A while before I looked at the series, I was playing a pretty decent educational clone called Q.E.D. that's set in Ancient Rome.
My favorite character is Godot.

My ranking of the Ace Attorney games:

1. Trials and Tribulations: The gameplay improvements of the second game plus an incredible overarching story. If this was the series sendoff like it was planned I would have been satisfied. Also, Godot is my favorite prosecutor. There's only so many ways to say this game is really good.

2. Investigations: Miles Edgeworth is my favorite Ace Attorney character. This is a whole game about him and despite the wonky pacing in the mid-to-late game and some underutilized ideas what's here is fantastic. The change in direction is super refreshing and the story is great.

3. The original: The first Ace Attorney has a great story and is the once Ace Attorney game that I think doesn't have a bad case.

4. Dual Destinies: This game isn't that bad. If it had better pacing, a better finale, and committed to the grittier tone seen in the game's opening it might have been in my top 3.

5. Justice for All: Introduces psyche-locks, lets you present profiles as evidence, and improved the penalty system. Has the perfect level of difficulty. The finale case is absolutely brilliant. However, it ranks so low due to not having much of a story. I also just don't like Franziska von Karma that much.

6. Apollo Justice: Interchangeable with Justice for All when it comes to my ranking. I really like the story in this one and Trucy Wright is a great addition to the cast. However, Apollo is too much of a blank slate for me to like him. I just don't get what people see in him. Also Klavier Gavin is really annoying in my opinion. Finally, I think perception is an annoying mechanic.

Spirit of Justice and Investigations 2 are not on this list because I have not played them.
By looking at my sig and pfp, you can tell that i'm an ace attorney fan.
Anyways, i thought of sharing my tierlist of Trilogy characters because why not?
Right now, im playing aai and aa4 (aj) so there are only the trilogy characters for now:

My favourites: Edgeworth and Godot.

Heh.. Don't get me started on the Japanese Ace Attorney Investigations 2. That one costs a pretty penny. If only I could find it, of course, I don't have a DS to play it on either

There's also the idea that I'd have to download some sort of patch for it just to understand it. Since it's Japan only…

Now I'm not going to say that you should go and find a ROM of it online to download and play it using a DS emulator like DeSmuMe…

Oh…. I wish… Enough is enough on videos of gameplay, I want to play it.

The DS is obsolete, and you can't find a used one very well. I'd like to do that.
Don't think I'd pirate Switch games though, I hate the very idea of Switch emulators!
It's only in Japan usually… I want to play as Gregory Edgeworth…

Has this conversation deteriorated?

I like to imagine that Franziska von Karma gave Miles Edgeworth his pink pajamas as a gag gift.
so ace attorney. great series. i beat the trilogy last weak, so heres a quick overview of my opinions(i played on 3ds):
-aa1:
classic. its biggest issue is that the first two cases are given away right at the start. but case 3+4 make up for it. especially case 4.
-jfa: pretty good. i liked franziska(probably spelt that wrong), but her design is somewhat unapealing. The final case of jfa is probably the best case in the series(though i havent touched anything outside of the aj tutorial for the rest of the series) in my opinion. i didnt hate its case 3, but it was the worst “”filler“” case, being the only one i actually felt was filler in the trilogy(outside of the tutorial, but that is necasarey filler so it doesnt count).
-t&t: godot. 'nuff said.

ok but being serious this game was awesome. i enjoyed every trial, the music slapped, and godot was such a fun character. i started out not liking him but he ended up my favorite character in the whole trilogy(and this is the same trilogy with edgeworth, gumshoe, and pearls so competition is clearly steep).
might i suggest you all read rule 3.1, section 5 in the scratch terms of service at some point(its for the benefit of this topic, trust me)

Oooh… I like Edgeworth and Gumshoe, that duo is the perfect blend of cool and humor.
Pearl + Franziska if that was her debut, pretty sure it is.
Godot + Laurice Deaxnim, okay I'm dead…. I know his debut wasn't in T&T please don't throw me in an elevator!!

I started Chronicles yesterday and I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

I'm on the first game's second case. I really like that it's expanding on Professor Layton VS Phoenix Wright's courtroom gameplay. I love the art style, the characters, the animation, etc. The whole game just feels really nice.

I think Herlock Sholmes might be my new favorite Ace Attorney character.

The mouse support could be better. I was hoping it would work like using the touch screen in the other games but less cumbersome because it's a mouse. However, the controller support is great.

I haven't played it, but I agree, Herlock Sholmes is a pretty good character despite his comical name, no offense.
I may sound stupid here, but are you playing a PC version? They make mice for consoles too.

Cool, I've heard about the PC versions, but I mostly play the DS ones.
Okay, one DS game… Investigations.
I just haven't gotten to the PW or AJ…
So how many references to Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice Ace Attorney can you guys spot in Ace Attorney Investigations?

During the kidnapped turnabout, I saw a couple references in one place, at Gatewater Park, the band stage had a symbol for Klavier Gavin on the back wall, and can be assumed the band that was playing was his.

And behind the stage was a sign for Troupe Gramarye, which means Zak Gramarye was performing there too.

I have screenshots if you want them.

There's also the bridge where you see Phoenix Wright, Maya and Pearl on a boat.

Any more?
