I really really dislike this new vector paint editor.
Problems:
1. Impossible to import multiple images to the same costume/backdrop
2. (Weird anomaly) Costumes/backdrops are randomly deleted while editing scripts
3. Limited to vector editing, there is no pixel brush option
4. The fill tool has no gradient option
5. Lines drawn with the brush and pencil lose detail when converted to vectors
6. It is impossible to select something that is contained within another element's collision box but is still visible
7. There is no region move tool (to move the contents selected within a rectangle)
8. It is impossible to create rectangles and other shapes to an accurate scale (like 16x16, etc)
9. The eraser tool's maximum size is a complete joke when it comes to erasing large portions of an image
10. There is no rotation snap for components
11. There is no way to set a rotation center for a vector component

That is all I could find for now, but please take these problems into consideration.

Vector Paint Editor is actually good, you can switch back to Bitmap mode if you don't like it, which is at the costumes and convert from vector to bitmap.

Vector Paint Editor does have snapping angle and making perfect circle or square, hold Shift while creating a square or circle, or snapping angle.

Holding Shift on these objects can allow you to move all selected objects at the same time. Shift also complements multiple selection.

Just try Vector Paint Editor, if it doesn't go good, you can always go back where you usually do! (bitmap paint editor)

How did you even find this?? (I was following this topic and got notified)
1. There was no bitmap editor in the 2.0 prototype when this topic was made, so simply switching to bitmap wasn't an option, and that's one thing people were mad about at the time. In fact, not long after this topic, this was made:
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/2649/
2. This was from the 2.0 beta.
3. The suggestions forum was called “Feedback” in the 2.0 prototype forums.
4. There were many changes made to the vector editor in 2.0 since this topic. For example, gradients were implemented after this topic was made, and the vector eraser was only re-introduced in 3.0, and it worked differently than how it worked then.

I think you have misunderstood, there's actually an option to convert it to bitmap. (at the bottom right corner of the screen for Scratch 2.0)

Don't believe me? Google “Scratch 2.0 Paint Editor” and try to find “Convert to bitmap” button at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Oh wait, your talking about prototype? Did anyone tested it?

That was not a thing when this was made (this topic was from before 2.0 officially released, I said 2.0 prototype for a reason), read what I said. And I already know, I use 2.0.

It was only implemented after this topic, but before the official release of Scratch 2.0. This topic was made during the 2.0 beta.
