Adding a "Shops" section in the forums.

Hello! I'd like to thank you for taking the time to read this, it really means a lot to me.
As I've gone through the scratch forums, there's one thing I noticed. When I look at the request forums, all I see is shops, not actual requests for stuff. Some new scratchers might need help with projects, and don't know what shops are, so since people are always ordering stuff from shops, their requests get pushed farther and farther down the list, eventually getting ignored. This is where the “Shops” section comes in.
With a shop section, people could go to the shops to order what they need, and actual requests would not be ignored. This would make it easier for people to find special shops they need too, because then all the shops would be in one place and not covered up by requests (even though shops rule the request form, so it probably wouldn't happen anyway, tbh). Then requests would be answered, and everyone can get the help they need!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I welcome any suggestions, comment, criticism, or questions you might have. Thank you again, and have a great day!

I was think it about this, and I agree it would keep things organised however how popular would the Requests forum then be? This way people who want to help but don't want to join a shop can.

this sounds like a good idea! c: it'd clear up the requests section, imo~

thisUm, don't mean to be rude, but it's really not. That article is suggesting that it is a option in the toolbar instead of in a request forum. MIne, however is suggesting adding a section in the forums for shops. That is why they are different. Sorry but this is a duplicate of

Yeah, this might be a good idea. Shops kind of do fit in the requests forum though..

It would be easier for Scratchers to find what they need, so support.

Semi-support.
I don't feel we need a new section in the forums, but I could see use for this.

Why don't you think we need a new section? It wouldn't be hard to include and I feel there are more pros then cons. In fact I feel this post is trying to find something against the original post. Instead give your post reasonable reasons. Semi-support.

I would recommend referencing the constructive replies section. (sorry for the blunt attitude )
Anyways again pros outweigh the cons. So do I see this as something Scratch needs? Indefinitely because I own a shop myself and for the amount of shops in there definitely deserve their own section. Nonetheless it would remove a ton of traffic in the Requests forum, which may be good or bad. I don't really know.

Yes, I would really appreciate constructive criticism, not just support/no support. It helps me improve my task(s) at hand. Thank you all for reading this tho.
(This post was mostly to bump the topic, even though it probably didn't need it.)

no support. there are already billions of shops in the request section and it would be kinda drastic to have them move their shops to the shops section after they already have an amazing shop there.

Billions? Seriously? There's only a couple thousand topics in Requests. Please check your math. no support. there are already billions of shops in the request section and it would be kinda drastic to have them move their shops to the shops section after they already have an amazing shop there.

Wouldn't they just be able to do a mass move or whatever? Just take all forum topics that include “Shop” in title/body text and move to new section. Don't know if that works or whatever but thats how I think it would work?Billions? Seriously? There's only a couple thousand topics in Requests. That might not work, because some shops might not actually have the word “Shop” in the title. Let me make some examples:Wouldn't they just be able to do a mass move or whatever? “Angelina's Store, Now Hiring”
“Bob's Gallery (Art/Reviews)”
“Bill's Workshop of Art and Music”
Obviously you wouldn't want to use your real name, I was just making some examples.

Support. Even though shops are technically requesting people for something they need, this will help divide actual requests from shops that do loads of requests.

I feel the forums have enough sections without too much clutter. I think adding another section (or more) would cause clutter. Why don't you think we need a new section? Hmm, I see your point, but here's the thing.
If a Shops section was added, then people would be posting both in the requests forum for things they need done and in shops.
Makes no difference really.
Just in the shops you have a better idea of who might complete that thing for you, and how good they are at it.
So now I think about it, there'd be no point posting in the requests forum anyways.
Because shops are better.
So I don't feel like this is a very good idea at all.
Sorry.
EDIT: Hang on, hang on. I've thought of something. This is probably a very bad idea, but why not replace the Requests forum with Shops? That'd make much more sense.

I'm pretty sure I saw a discussion explaining the different topics and what happens in each one so that new scratchers can learn about atshe forums. That could easily be updated.Right. Full Support. It would be rather nice to have a new section on the forums, perhaps under the Show And Tell pages that allow Scratchers to advertise their abilities to others, allowing commissions, requests, and collaborations between users.
