Very unusual looking for a TLoZ game. Will have to try this when it comes out.

The latest Zelda game is coming soon! It's gonna be called, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There's a trailer out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rPxiXXxftE. I'm getting hyped up for it. Looks sweet. The building thing kinda bugs me, looks too much like a minecraft survival game or something.
I don't agree. In my opinion it looks like it is going to be the greatest game of all time! So exited!

It should be a pretty sweet game, despite it having some differences from the other games.

It's connected to it. Like wind waker and ocarina of time.

Reminds me of Skyward Sword. The art style anyway. And yeah. It kinda does have a Wind Waker-y vibe to it.

Its a art style that is based of Wind Waker Skyward Sword and Twilight Princes. So you are both right!

I'm pretty sure that the new Zelda game is going to take place in the Adult Timeline, sometime after Windwaker.

I hope not - I was hoping that the Hero of Winds was actually going to have a happy life - unlike some other Link's

Ex: -imprisoned in a coma for seven years, possibly dead in a game, not getting recognition for anything he did, and eventually becoming the Hero's Shade

Yeah. There's some kokiri in the game, so it must happen after WW or in the same timeline.

Someone thinks that it's the Hero of Winds (which is depressing, because it means he probably doesn't have a happy ending where he marries Tetra).

Um, that is simply the sheath for the master sword. It is in every game featuring the blade. I'm not sure if you're joking…

Partially joking. I guess I never actually realized that that is the sheath for the master sword in every game, as I never really paid any attention to that until now *face palm*. I feel so stupid right now. lol

It'll probably end up being one of their best TLOZ games. It does have some differences from the more traditional zelda games, but it should be pretty sweet. Frankly I thought Ocarina of Time was really good too. I'll have to see if BotW beats Oot. Currently I'm playing Skyward Sword, and, despite what the critics say, I like the game. It might be a good game to play before BotW, especially since Breath of the Wild has a stamina meter and so does Skyward Sword.

Ocarina and Majora's Mask were honestly garbage IMO, but hey, this game looks really good.

Did you really just say that? Nintendo is the reason why gaming still exists in the form it is today, rather than dying back in 1983 when Atari flooded the market with poor quality games. They've made the greatest games of all time, and if you have actually played a lot of Nintendo, you know the effort they put into their games. The Legend of Zelda is one of their flagship series. Sure, they don't have complicated, interactive stories like some games today, but they tell the story through their gameplay. They make you feel like a hero. The worlds Nintendo create are some of the most unique, engaging, and colorful worlds in gaming. If you think that Breath of the Wild is the first good Zelda, you probably don't play Zelda.

Maybe if you people didn't make so many bad assumptions like this I'd play more of the games.

Ocarina is extremely ambiguous with it's puzzles at times, and the gameplay can really drag (Goron City) at times.
Majora's Mask I found better, but not by much.

2D Zelda is best Zelda. A Link Between Worlds is my favorite of all the games. Sorry that because I don't think of Nintendrone as the best company because they made games people liked a lot.

It's totally fine if you don't like the other TLOZ games. I frankly haven't played really any of the 2D Zelda games, so I can't really judge if the 3d ones are “better.”

That's awesome! I can't wait to play it.
I have this game and it. Is. Amazing. I've barely started it but it is so cool because there isn't a specific path you have to follow (well, kind of, but still), you get to chose what to do. The art and realness is AMAZING. So much fun.

Edit: 200th post!!! Yay!!

This game, tho. I've only had it for two days, and I am absolutely lovin' it. I haven't even finished it, and I already give it a 10/10. If I had to rate my favorite tloz games out of the ones I've played:

1. Breath of the Wild
2. Skyward Sword (yes, I rate SS higher than OOT #fightme)
3. Ocarina of Time
4. The Wind Waker (not all the way finished, but close)
Started playing a couple of days ago, incredibly fun! I've been having a bit of a difficult time hunting down shrines, but it's no big issue. I'm enjoying this game a lot, one of the best games I've played.

I have it on Wii U, too. I've only just recently got off the Great Plateau.
A couple of sessions ago, I located the “A Modest Test of Strength” trial. It's on a precipice, outside of the first village, the one where Lady Impa is.

The trial boils down to facing a beefy Guardian Scout. Generally, when you find it any unblocked/dodged attack will kill Link in one shot, or severely injure him. I made several attempts to destroy it using the weapons I had beforehand (some Knight's Broadswords, a Guardian sword, and a smattering of other weapons), but to no avail. The boss isn't terribly tough, one you learn how to fight it; in fact, one you have its patterns down, you can dispatch it quite easily.

If anybody wants to know, walk in with the Champion's Tunic and whatever armor you can get at that time. Eat any item with a high-level defense boost (you can use Ironshrooms; they're quite common) before fighting it, for best results. Make sure you have some other foods, too; also, don't eat anything with a passive effect, or you'll cancel the Defense Boost you will oh-so-desperately need your first times through.

The boss' first phase relies on using powerful strikes with an axe; these will usually one-shot you, so try to get around behind it. Bonus points if you can perfect dodge/parry it; you can use a Flurry Rush to make this easier.

Sometimes, it will jump away, and begin to wind up. Either get behind a pillar or run diagonally away. The following attack will kill you, no questions asked, if it hits. If it runs into a pillar, though, it will be momentarily stunned. Use this opportunity to use a charged attack with your strongest weapon.

After a while, it will sometimes replace it's spin attack with a spinning beam. This is relatively non-threatening; just run away from it and shoot it with arrows, preferably Ice Arrows. Ice Arrows will freeze the Scout and stop the attack early. If you must, use your Paraglider to escape.

It's last-ditch maneuver is to charge up a powerful laser cannon to shoot you with; it has a long, audible charge, and all of the blasts are an almost-guaranteed one-shot, but when it begins to shoot, don't panic. Lock onto it and strafe a good distance away from it (or parry a blast with any Guardian Shield - but only if you're daring.) When it stops, run up and hack away at it, then run away when the attack is mostly charged, so you will have adequate area to dodge.

Slaying the beast nets you a ridiculously powerful battleaxe (40 or so strength) and a very good shield. The bow from the chest is nice, too.

Equipment I used;
- Two Knight's Broadswords (one broke)
- Iron Greatsword (get it from the Zora's Domain, behind the central shrine)
- Solider's Bow
- Ice Arrows
- Champion's Tunic/Climber's Bandana (first upgrade)
- Hylian Trousers
- Tough Mushroom Skewer (high-level defense boost, made from five Ironshrooms)
- One other healing dish (I botched a dodge of the axe-swing)

Is BoTW any good?? I was thinking of getting if for my Wii U. Or asking my parents for one for next Christmas (a while away, I know). I definitely won't be getting a Switch any time soon. If this helps, the only Zelda game I own is Wind Waker.
BREATH OF THE WILD TIMELINE THEORY

Breath of the Wild takes place during the Child Timeline supposedly a few hundred years after the events of Four Sword Adventures. After Ganon was sealed in the Four Sword, he soon realized his constant resurrections and rebirths due to Demise's curse in Skyward Sword will alway be a failiure due to Link always defeating him in his physical form. Soon, Ganon abandoned his physical form and left it in the Four Sword, becoming Calamity Ganon. The giant mist surrounding Hyrule Castle is Ganon in his non-physical form.

END GAME SPOILERS AHEAD

When Link finally reaches Hyrule Castle, he see a giant blob that contains Ganon's new physical form. It is believed that Ganon attempted to recreate a physical form for himself. But, although he is in a physical form, it is a complete mess. He is pretty much made up of all of the Blight Ganon's parts and he has the Mobile Guardians' legs. Now the blob looks familiar to something we saw earlier in the game (in a flashback maybe?) which had somethong to do with rebirth… I think. That's what Ganon is trying to do, be reborn in a new physical form. In the end he succeeds, and we fight him as the Malice-covered final boss of Breath of the Wild: DARK BEAST GANON!

But Link whoops him anyways because Link is awesome.

BOTW is really good. It's quite different from the past major 3d titles in the series (TP, OOT, WW, etc.), and most of that is due to the fact that it is open-world based. I certainly enjoyed it and found it more enjoyable than, say, Wind Waker. I'm not quite sure what I think about it in comparison to OOT. (I might like Ocarina of Time better than BOTW). Without going into details, I find Breath of the Wild to be lacking in certain areas that other TLoZ games, in my opinion, excelled at. In my mind, BOTW is what you get when you combine The Legend of Zelda, Portal, and Minecraft.

I got BOTW for the Wii U, and it runs fairly well. I've never played it on the Switch, so I haven't personally experienced any difference in performance between the two versions. The FPS does drop a couple of times in certain areas and times, but nothing game-breaking. I found the game easy to get into, but it still presented a good deal of challenge. Definitely recommend it.
