It'll be like that wifi episode, or the Idiots Lantern.
Still haven't gotten over the awful ending of Idiot's Lantern.

Also, we have a new trailer!
Oh right, Rose telling an abused kid to go back with his awful dad?

Watched it! I am in disbelief that Space Babies is a real thing. The episode is 100% going to have a horror twist right?
Yep!

When you're a Doctor Who fan, you have to make a choice between thinking every character is Susan and every character is the Rani and I chose Susan.
lol

I really think this should be useful because in there could be a wait when a block is runned.

play sound [sound v] for () secs :: sound

DotDash wrote:

maybe ST could add a dropdown on the stop all sounds block so you could choose a specific sound, but it still has all in the dropdown.
There is a
start sound [sound v] at () seconds :: sound
block and a
play sound [sound v] starting at () seconds until done :: sound
block in Snail IDE, along with a
stop sound [sound v] :: sound
block.

No, you need other code with the mouse pointer, but please do not necropost (post on old topics), and report detectors are bad as said above.

Why hath project ideas dieth?
——
Why is the Project Ideas forum so dead? In the “Making Scratch Projects” category, the second least popular forum, Project Save & Level Codes, which was made more recently, has over 2x the amount of posts compared to project ideas.

For comparison, Project Ideas has been around as early as 2013, whereas Project Save & Level Codes began mid 2022, which means that the Project Ideas has had around 7639 posts per year on average, whereas Project Save & Level Codes has had a whopping 96664 posts per year, which is around almost 13x as many posts per year, and counting.

Just a small question I had, I know the answer very well could be that people don't want to share their ideas, don't have any, or just don't know about the forum at all. If you look at the front page of Project Ideas you can see topics made yesterday that are still on the front page, which in most other subforums in the “Making Scratch Projects” category don't even have posts made hours ago on the front page.

Thanks for taking the time to read my little analysis of the “Making Scratch Projects” section, and have a good Easter/April Fool's.

Edit: I decided this was too much text to be in the small tag, so I put the first part in big tags for emphasis.

Edit2: I felt that I should add that the directory for Project Ideas has a grand total of 106 views, which is by far the least amount of views on a directory compared to 18148 views in the Help with Scripts directory, 488 in the Show and Tell directory, 11691 in the Collaborations directory, 6022 in the Requests directory, and 2228 views in the Project Save & Level Codes directory, as of posting this topic.

ceeslay critique <3

hi ceeslay! overall i loved your piece, the imagery is amazing and i also really like your stylistic choices in description! i think there is basically not much to point out in terms of general things, but i did notice that you repeated a certain phrase twice “thin line” and while it's a good comparison between jacob and his mother i also kinda found it repetitive (( but it's a nitpick because i can't really find anything else. also, jacob said that he already participated in the festival but there aren't really any details about that so i was a bit confused on what exactly he did, since “greeting people at the festival” kinda implies that it is only the beginning of the festival? honestly other than that i have nothing to bring up: the themes, plot, pacing, all that jazz, are very well done!!

what rules did he break specifically
No combat is permitted in claimed land unless allowed by the owner (it wasn't)
It's funny how you were the one to hit first.

I would also like to clear the situation up publicly on the forums by saying that the original killing of Wulvie was a mistake (I did not realize that it was against the rules), and I have since made up for it. The killing of Shy, even though it happened in Mantis, was justified self-defense because I was attacked by her with an axe. Then of course the last skirmish in Mantis mentioned above was also justified because I wasn't even the one who started it!

I was floating around in the water in Mantis when Skood joined the game. He asked Wulvie whether or not PvP was allowed in Mantis when he saw me. Wulvie said no, it wasn't allowed. 2 minutes later Skood krits me with his sword. This is how the battle started! He broke the pvp rules willingly in his own nation! Later Skood would also shoot arrows at me in neutral Spain as well.

I haven't broken the rules on killing in claimed territories since the first incident.

Guys, I drastically modified my code, keeping the old script on the right. And it works on constant gravity, and switching gravity works… sometimes and only when you go slowly. In fact, it looks more buggy than my previous code. Can someone tell why my code isn't working? The detection is not by hitbox now, but through the following logical deductions:

Moving out of a hit bottom or top platform takes less than the absolute size of the v2 value, if it takes more than that to move out, then it must be a wall. Then, if v1 is positive (meaning the player moved to the right.) then it was a right wall. Else, it was a left wall.

Is my code not implementing this logic correctly, or is there something wrong with the logic itself? Or it is hitting the walls in too many directions? Or something else?
I need feedback please!
see if adding a delay between changes (through a variable, not through wait) can make it not switch to upside-down

In the latest GoK version, I reduced the effect of mobility evaluation significantly. I think it simply generated too much noise. The mistake was that I tried which values would prevent trapped queens or rooks, but the same values might just screw up positional evaluation when there is no real danger despite reduced mobility.

In a first test game, GoK (Medium, white) took on Element (6+8), and played a perfect game, winning in 40 moves. Element played great too, its only blunder was not considering en-passant: https://lichess.org/fUuTd7NV#79

Next game against White Dove (P4), one GoK mistake at move 39, which won't happen on Difficult, otherwise a fine game. GoK wins it at 93%: https://lichess.org/aMRTvOU7#107

very rushed very bad weekly ASDFS

Weekly 4:

- Jacob and Blythe, two teenage boys with very different statuses. Jacob is the crown prince, set to inherit the throne. Since birth, he has been raised to fill this role, and every aspect of his life revolves around it. Yet, he dislikes the responsibility that comes with it. He often wishes he was ordinary. He treasures freedom that so many take for granted.

- Blythe is a stablehand. He is a commoner and grew up as an orphan, extremely poor. Despite this, he is very bright, and quite intelligent. Though he has never formally attended school, he learns on his own time. If he had been born royal, he would certainly have had a high place in society.

- During an important festival, Jacob hides away from everyone, disappearing into the stables. There he meets Blythe and begs him not to give him away. Blythe reluctantly obliges, after Jacob promises that he will reward him for his silence.

- The two boys quickly become friends, and Jacob enjoys these bits of freedom. Being friends with Blythe makes him feel normal. He can ignore the weight of his duties, even if just for a few moments.

- Jacob often sneaks Blythe into the castle, where the two roam around. Nobody knows of their relationship, and it wouldn’t be beneficial for either of them if they were found out. A prince should have friends of a similar status and not interact closely with commoners.

- Jacob stole a large cake from the kitchens. On his bed, the two share it, and Jacob feeds Blythe pieces as he reads over one of the two’s favorite books. Some gets on Blythe’s cheek and before Jacob can stop himself, he brushes it away. Something passes between them and suddenly everything becomes awkward.

- They become something more than friends, but neither is able to accept it. They continue on as if nothing has happened, sharing secret moments and glances. Finally, Blythe makes the first move, kissing Jacob after he comes back from a trip to one of the neighboring kingdoms. Jacob does the same back, but guilt brews inside him. He has just been offered a marriage proposal to one of the neighboring kingdom’s princesses, an alliance that will greatly benefit their kingdom. However, he chooses not to tell Blythe, wanting to enjoy the relationship.

-They begin a secret relationship. As it furthers, and they become more intimate, Jacob reveals the truth, unable to keep it from Blythe any longer. He becomes extremely angry, saying that Jacob doesn’t treat him or the relationship secret and only wants to be with him to “rebel.” That he will toss him away at the first chance. He’s tired of being a secret lover.

Exposition:

Jason buttons up his shirt, tucking it neatly into his pants. Lace lines the collar, intricate detailing down the front and across the shoulders. He turns to his closet, pulling out a maroon vest. Gold designs decorate the entire front, depictions of blossoming flowers stretching upwards, with gilded buttons at the clasp.

He turns to the mirror, letting out a long breath. In the mirror, a tall figure stands, short straw-colored hair slicked back, piercing green eyes evident through a sea of freckles. Tailored clothing hugs every curve in his body, accentuating his small waist and broad shoulders. He rolls up the cuffs of his sleeves, revealing a gold bracelet and several rings, with gleaming green gemstones.

A prince.

Jason can barely recognize the person staring back at him.

Serious demeanor, cool, unbothered look in his eyes.

His mouth is a firm line.

Harsh angular brows.

(146 words)

Jacob reaches for his crown, placing it firmly atop his head. Strands of gold intertwine to form a gleaming circlet, embedded with rubies, held firmly in place. It feels heavy. An awkward weight. No matter how many times he does this, he doesn’t think he’ll ever truly get used to it.

How he longs to take it off, be free from the restrictions that bind him. To frolic in fields of flowers, pollen staining his clothes. Cool raindrops on his face, trailing down his neck. Damp strands of hair. He loves the earthy smell the morning after it rains.

Letting out a long sigh, Jacob opens his door, entering the hallway. His fantasies are just fantasies, after all. Unrealistic for a reason.

—–

Jacob waves at the crowds from his throne. His back aches from the rigid back, which digs into his spine. It is made of fine, imported cherrywood. The edges are encrusted with gold, which is melded into the grain of the wood. On the top, they form three spikes, curving outwards like waves. Another flashy display of their kingdom’s wealth.

He knows full well what commoners think of royalty. How they idolize them, worshiping them like gods. They cannot make any mistakes.

The crowds scream his name, cheering loudly as they press against each other, reaching up to get closer to him, desperate hands flailing in the air. Their bodies pack the narrow streets like sardines.

It’s exhausting.

Having to be perfect all of the time.

Presentable.

The forced politeness and smiles that he plasters across his features.

God, when will it end.

—–

Seven years old.

His nanny, Alicia, was reading Cinderella to him. Jacob sat cross-legged on the bed, eyes wide in excitement. Her storytelling was spellbinding, words making the characters come alive, emerging from the pages.

“What do you think of Prince Charming?” she asks him, a gentle smile upon her lips.

“He’s very brave,” Jacob murmurs, his head tilted to the side in thought.

“What about Cinderella? Do you think she’s beautiful? The perfect fit for a charming young prince like you.” The nanny laughs, ruffling his hair affectionately.

“But, I don’t want to marry her.” Jacob pouts. “I want to marry Prince Charming!”

Alicia freezes, eyes open in fear. The world stills. Jacob doesn’t understand what he has done wrong, yet he can see the wrongness of his answer reflecting in her features. The taste of the words on his lips

“Surely you don’t mean that,” she stammers. She grasps his shoulders tightly, shaking him back and forth in a panicked fervor. “Tell me you don’t mean it.”

“But, but I do mean it. He’s handsome and brave.” Jacob crosses his arms over his chest firmly. He twists out of her grip.

“You… you can’t. Princes can’t marry other boys.” Alicia cups his face in her palms, “Do you understand that, my sweet prince.” Her eyes are unfocused, flicking back and forth wildly, occasionally focusing back on him.

“Yes,” he responds dejectedly, trembling in her grip. “I understand.” As soon as the words are out of his mouth, she releases him, relief blossoming across her face. He immediately backs away, frightened.

Only then does he begin to understand what his responsibilities as a prince mean. Restrictions. The things he can and cannot do.

Choices that have been made for him.

The heavy weight of his crown.

—–

“Jacob, you need to go greet people in the throne room. There is a long line of people waiting for you,” Jacob’s mother, Queen Adeline, instructs. Her mouth is a firm line, brow furrowed.

“Why?” the words slip out from between his lips before he can stop them. He braces himself for a reaction, already knowing what the response will be.

“Because you’re the crown prince. This is your duty, your responsibility,” she chastises. The lines surrounding her mouth tighten in frustration. They’ve had this conversation so many times.

“I never asked for this. I don’t want this responsibility. You said that I had to participate in the festival. I did. I’ve served my purpose.” Jacob clenches his fists tightly at his sides.

“That’s not something you can change. Get prepared for the greeting. Make yourself presentable.” Queen Adelin commands, eyes narrowing.

“No,” Jacob says, voice dark and booming. Before he can reconsider, he breaks into a run, racing down the stairs, coattails flapping wildly behind him.

“Jacob,” Queen Adeline calls after him, her voice echoing throughout the palace, “Come back here,” she thunders. He ignores her words, blocking them out of his head. As he runs throughout the hallways, he tries to think of a place where nobody will think to look for him. His mind races.

He turns the corner, seeing a wall of horseshoes, pinned to the wall. Of course, the stables. He pushes open the door, the smell of manure making his nose wrinkle. Numerous stalls line the walls, horses heads peeking over the wooden doors. Upon seeing him, they stamp their hooves, nostrils flaring as they neigh loudly.

A tall figure stands at one of the stalls, coaxing one of the horses inside. He’s dressed in plain, fitted green pants, which hug his slight frame. Leather riding boots hit just below his knee.

“Hello,” Jacob starts. Immediately, he turns around. His pale blue eyes bore into Jacob’s, the intensity startling him. Short brown hair frames his face, accentuating his sharp features and high cheekbones. Intriguing.

“What are you doing in here?” The boy looks him up and down curiously, “Royals don’t usually come down here.”

“I…I need a place to hide,” Jacob says, “If you help me, I’ll reward you handsomely.” The boy folds his arms over his chest, eyebrows raised.

“What kind of reward?” he questions.

“Anything you want.”

“Ok, deal. You’d better keep your promise, or I don’t know if I can keep my lips sealed.” His lips quirk upwards into a small smirk. “Go into the broom closet over there.” He points to a small door next to Jacob. “I’ll cover for you if anyone comes in.”

This was one of my favorite writing comp entries I've seen! It's really good, I'd love to see a sequel. It also sounds sort of poetry-like, which sounds very nice! Alright, on to the critiques: ‘your tiny head of poofy blonde hair at the park.’ Saying tiny head, even for a kid, sounds sort of weird? Maybe just get rid of the tiny part. I also like how you use the ocean eyes to help tell which character is talking, but I've read a lot of things where one of the main characters has ocean eyes, so maybe pond or lake, or something like that (Ok, I admit that might just be a personal preference XD)? For titles I have a couple ideas : Your Rings Are Muffled Now, Our Shadows, Intertiwined. Hope that is good, sorry this critiqe is shorter but I hope it was helpful, bye! -thewitchofjam

When a topic has been up for 10 minutes, but you haven't seen it yet, it'll say “(New posts)”.

(When a post/topic has been edited in any way (moved, edited, deleted, etc.), it shows up as the “last post” on the front of the home page. This is likely why there's an old post as the last post.

~ Meet Me in the Back, and You'll Find Out Why ~ Detroit: Evolution Fan-Fiction Poetry Anthology (2000 words including introductory note)

Author’s Note (optional, not included in word count):
One of my favorite works of asexual representation, Detriot: Evolution’s portrayal of Nines and Gavin’s relationship is phenomenal— everyone needs to see this short film. I’ve rewatched this film on repeat a million times (this is not hyperbole). I hope I did the fandom justice with this series of twelve poems, alternating between Gavin’s and Nine’s perspectives.
The titles of each poem in this anthology come from a lyric straight out of each song on Jack Stauber’s Pop Food album. The song associated with each lyric is listed below:
“You cut me to size” — Buttercup
“It’s negative attention at best” — Oh Klahoma
“Harmony destroyer” — I Love You Verne Troyer
“Can I breathe you?” — Koi Boy
“Meet me in the back, and you’ll find out why” — Dog Nightmare (my favorite on the album!)
“The ringing of silence” — Bothersome
“Leave my mind” — Safe Socks
“Tug the pull string” — My Plea
“I mend the heart with practice” — Lynn
“Swing with a soft decay” — I Understand
“Fireworks and cinnamon gum” — Candy Eyes
“I’m back to town and I miss you” — Look On (hidden track)

Special thanks to @Sunclaw68 for teaching me how to format this! In my last poetry anthology entry, I also did structure poetry, but I was quite limited by the scratch forums formatting tools, so Sun's image technique really helped me out here

While this anthology can be interpreted and understood without prior context of the film, here are some brief bits of context that may lead to a more canon interpretation (and additional definitions of allusions, technical jargon, and idioms that may help certain readers):

**Spoiler’s Ahead!!**

You Cut Me to Size (Gavin’s Perspective): The anthology starts with this poem, which essentially establishes the banter-filled dynamic between Nines and Gavin. Gavin’s go-to nickname for Nines is “tin can,” and, in return, Nines calls Gavin “meat sack.” “Cyberlife” is the place where all androids are built. “Thirium” is basically the blue blood of an android. “Deviancy” is the term for when androids break free from their programming and have their own consciousness. “Frankenstein-esque” is an allusion to Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, which is a monster made out of various parts that come alive through the use of electricity. Dark coffee is mentioned in this poem because Gavin’s favorite drink is coffee.

It’s Negative Attention at Best (Nines’s Perspective): This poem is about Nines rebuking Gavin’s worries that Nines might be into Ada (a female android). According to the film, “androids are built to be aesthetically pleasing,” but that doesn’t mean androids have an attraction towards one another. Sleepless nights and paranoia refer to Gavin’s nightmares (elaborated more in “Meet Me in the Back, and You’ll Find Out Why”). “Sugar and cotton” refer to Ada’s blue eyes, while “panic and late-night caffeine” refer to Gavin’s hazel eyes. Secrets made of “shame and bone” is a reference to the idiom “skeletons in your closet/cupboard/etc.” — skeletons are typically associated with secrets and shame. “I feel nothing for her” is a paraphrased quote from the film.

Harmony Destroyer (Gavin’s Perspective): This poem is a haiku, which consists of five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line, and five syllables in the third line. Authentic haikus almost always discuss some form of nature, hence the metaphor with gas (and also the parallel discussion on human nature). This gas metaphor is especially fitting as the poem’s message is a reference to the scene in which Gavin and Nines are in the car together waiting to apprehend a suspect; while they wait, they talk about relationships and romantic attraction, and Gavin reveals that all of his past relationships failed because they leave him as soon as things get bad.

Can I Breathe You? (Nines’s Perspective): In the game, the RK800/RK900 models have simulations called “Zen Gardens” — these mind gardens are the place where these androids process all their information. In Nines’s particular case, his garden also has an imagined version of Gavin (who always wears a white T-shirt in the simulations), a notable bridge, and flowers. The reference to a firing squad is a play on words in how neurons “fire” when they go off. “Neural networks” is a type of machine learning in computer science, “augmented reality” computer-generated graphics being placed in the real world, “binary” is how computers store data through 1s and 0s, “sandbox” is an isolated environment to test software, “firewall” is a type of security measure, and a “byte” is a way of measuring chunks of binary. The last stanza is a reference to how robots can’t smell anything— the best they can do is predict how things smell through inference. The reference to leather jackets refers to Gavin’s typical outfit in the real world.

Meet Me in the Back, and You’ll Find Out Why (Gavin’s Perspective): This poem refers to Gavin’s nightmare scene, in which Nines rushes into his bedroom after Gavin has a nightmare of dying in the snow outside of the Detroit Police Department. Carriers in bloodstreams circulating is a play on words— blood circulates in the bloodstream, and blood cells carry nutrients to body cells. Alternatively, (news) carriers circulate information through the publication of circulations (aka newspapers). “head(board)stone” combines the two words, “headboard” and “headstone” — a headboard is the back piece of wood of a bed, while a headstone is a stone placed on a grave.

The Ringing of Silence (Nines’s Perspective): This poem refers to the argument Gavin and Nines have outside of a bar. The argument ends with Gavin telling Nines that he doesn’t need him (“I don’t need you” is a direct quote from the film). The final lines can be interpreted metaphorically with plays on words, or as oxymorons.

Leave My Mind (Gavin’s Perspective): Immediately following the argument, Nines walks Ada back to Jericho, only for Ada to ambush Nines and cause his operating system to shut down (it takes thirty seconds for his operating system to shut down). “Silicon” is hypothesized to be one of the main materials used to create android skin (according to the fandom). At the end of the scene, the DPD arrives to send Nines to the hospital. At the hospital, Gavin regrets that his last words to Nines were “I don’t need you.” The homophones used for lines 24-27 refer back to the oxymorons at the end of “The Ringing of Silence.”

Tug the Pull String (Nines’s Perspective): While Nines is in a coma, he is trapped in a corrupted version of his mind garden. Despite this, he can hear Gavin’s voice in the real world (additionally, “your voice broke through” is a paraphrased quote, “you’ve got the real thing up there” is a direct quote, “this mind garden could be rebuilt into an amusement park” is a paraphrased quote, and “a force you can’t live without” is a direct quote). To break out of his coma, Nines destroys his mind garden to start afresh. “Monet garden” is a reference to the artist Claude Monet, who was famous for drawing gardens and flowers. “Dali wasteland” is a reference to the artist Salvador Dali, who was famous for drawing bizzaro scenes.

Swing With a Soft Decay (Gavin’s Perspective): This poem follows the Petrarchan sonnet form, following an ABBAABBA CDCDCD rhyme scheme; the octave stanza establishes a problem, while the sestet stanza provides relief to this problem (the jump between these stanzas is called a “volta”). Sonnets are typically written to emphasize themes of love; additionally, the poem follows iambic pentameter, with a total of ten syllables that alternate between unstressed and stressed syllables. This poem uses perfect rhymes to stay as true to an authentic sonnet as possible. This poem refers to the scene in which Gavin and Nines reunite, which ends with their first kiss as they embrace each other.

I Mend the Heart With Practice (Nines’s Perspective): This poem could be canonically interpreted in multiple ways; either as a reference to Nines freeing Ada by allowing her to deviate or as a reference to Nines finally showing Gavin what it truly feels to be loved. “Give me a second” is an idiom that is used to ask someone to pause for a moment. “Olive branch” is a common symbol used to represent peace. “Boiling water” is a reference to the idiom of being “in hot water,” which means to be in trouble. “Commands of a script” is a computer science term; a script refers to the text file that runs when executing a program, and commands run a certain section of a script. This could also be idiomatically interpreted as “stick to the script,” in which someone continues with their initial plan/direction.

Fireworks and Cinnamon Gum (Gavin’s Perspective): This poem’s five parts refer to the five senses of sight, touch, hearing, smell, and taste. The metaphor of fireworks in the first part of the poem refers to the Fourth of July, the day in which America declared its independence (it’s celebrated to establish patriotic loyalty to the country… sigh, Americans…). This poem is loosely based on the ending of Detriot: Evolution, in which Gavin tells Nines on the rooftop how his life has changed for the better after meeting him.

I’m Back to Town and I Miss You (Nine’s Perspective): Hey! It’s a six-word story/poem. I made use of the title to help extend its meaning; using the title as the first line of a poem is loosely based on Emily Dickinson’s poetry (though, she never actually did this in her poems— her editors designated the first line of her untitled poems to be the title to her posthumous poems). This poem references back to Nines’s and Gavin’s teasing dynamic with the word choice of “bet.”

It'll be like that wifi episode, or the Idiots Lantern.
Still haven't gotten over the awful ending of Idiot's Lantern.

Also, we have a new trailer!

what rules did he break specifically

I’m just gonna do an overview so this can be quick since the deadline is coming up~ but here we go!
— I really liked the piece! it was super fun to read, and the POV was great fun as well. there were a few points where I was a touch confused, perhaps because I haven’t read the original (which I need to do :0); I guess I’m just not too clear on the worldbuilding, why they’re doing what they’re doing and taking Cheese Junior; perhaps that was intentional as Cheese Junior doesn’t always seem to understand what they’re saying, so some of that is obviously okay, but just a comment or two at the beginning about his confusion might help make that clear if that’s the case.
— another thing I’m not totally sure about is how you’ve incorporated all these ingredients, which is fine, but if something is, for example, a flashback, I didn’t catch that and a tense change would help make that clear.
— other than that, I really loved the piece and especially liked the ending—Cheese Junior’s interactions with the frog and his confusion as to its identity at first was really funny. so great job, and good luck finishing up the weekly! hope this helps somewhat <3

two shadows intertwined
❝forever is a long time❞
Two shadows, intertwined.
That’s what we were.
Two of us, intertwined, the moment we saw each other’s eyes; your blue ones, ocean-like, and mine rich brown.
We grew up together.
I saw your hair, your tiny head of poofy blonde hair at the park. Sea eyes wide, shiny, following the soccer ball. Content and alone, your back to the wall. Just watching.
I was the energetic one. I’d pounce and raise my arms to the sky and I’d jump and practically fly. Something in my body was always moving. But you were silent, peaceful, more so than any other girl I’d ever seen in my life. I was mesmerized by your calmness. I walked up to you and lowered myself to the ground. And for the first time in my life, I was quiet, still.
You looked over at me and giggled. A tiny sound, escaping like bubbles.
I giggled, another tiny sound. I tapped your shoulder softly with my tiny fingers.
“Come play,” I said. You followed me. Your hands grasped for mine. Something formed between us, like a rope knot. It tightened the second you touched me, a knot that would never come loose. Two of us, intertwined. Our shadows, spilling on the ground.
Our shadows have never been apart since.
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ─────»
“Come play,” you whispered, a smile on your face, the same way a sunflower beams at the sun. Your hair was shoulder-length now, years later, and it had grown to ringlets.
I reached for your fingers and let you pull me outside. I’d let you pull me anywhere, I knew that even then. I’d let you pull me anywhere even with my eyes closed and hands tied.
We squealed at the flying birds with the midnight captured in their wings, at the airplanes that left ribbons of white in its wake.
I taught you to raise your hands up to the sky. I taught you to scream, I taught you to depend on people. I taught you to fly.
You taught me to sit. You taught me to stay long enough to see my name in the stars, to see the wisps of clouds. You taught me to listen, to watch, to be.
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ─────»
Your clear rings of laughter echoed through the hallways of middle school. Your hair rippled down your back in rolling ocean waves.
I noticed your sea eyes were dulling with the weight of burdens. They shone like diamonds with tears, diamonds that carried sadness in them.
I grasped for your hand and offered you a small smile. I saw the whispers of sad begin to fade away with every step we took together. You knew I’d be there. Our hands were still intertwined, our shadows on the ground.
Secret notes passed to each other, silent giggles and expressions across the room, even as we began to be pushed apart by other people. Other people who marched into our lives.
I still remembered you, though. I found you again.
We shared food at lunch.
New friends, new classes, but the two of us were still together.
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ─────»
You let me cry onto your shoulder that day. That day when the world shattered into glass pieces. When someone broke me into glass pieces, treated me like a porcelain doll.
But you were there, even though you’d suffered worse. Your ocean eyes told me the way the world burdened on your shoulders. But you sat by me, thinking of me. Only me.
You let me cry onto your shoulder that day. I let you cry on mine. Your waist-length ringlets, mine a pixie cut. Your ocean eyes sparkled the same way. Never changing.
“It’s okay,” you whispered. “Being 17 is hard.”
“It’s okay,” I repeated quietly.
I looked at you and realized that a whisper of a smile had made its way onto my face. The kind of smile only you could pull out of me.
I saw you smile too. I could see the shadows of the same sunflower-smile in it from when we were younger.
I’d be okay. I had you there.
Our fingers laced, our shadows intertwined.
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ─────»
Only years later, we had to say goodbye.
“Don’t leave,” I whispered, anguish in my voice.
You turned to look west. “I have to.”
We both knew you had to. We both knew we had to rip our shadows apart one day. Would they bleed? Would it break us?
Your car shimmered like the tears in your sea eyes as you stared at me. You would be hours and days away.
My hand, reached out for yours.
You touched mine, slowly, slowly, slowly.
Our fingers curled around each other, like a flower’s petals.
Our shadows spilled on the ground.
“I’ll call you every day,” you said.
“I’ll miss you.”
“I will too.”
Tears began to block my vision, leaving only blurry dots. There was a small smile on my face, shadows of sunflowers.
Our shadows broke apart for the first time in twenty years.
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ─────»
You’re not here in front of me now. Your laugh rings not as clearly anymore, muffled because of my phone.
You reach out towards the camera, a bittersweet smile unfolding.
All those years, the two of us. I was lost before I met you. I found myself because of you.
I reach out to you. I need you. I know I’m nobody without you. You’re nobody without me.
Two shadows, intertwined. We’d be intertwined forever, even if you kept us universes apart.
Two shadows, intertwined.
Two shadows, intertwined.

Hello. Crazy theory, and you might not believe me,and the theory is that scratch forums exist. Cool. The problem about them are, some forums might be up for a minute, then lose the role of a new post , but some could be up for 5 minutes and still be a “new post”. Why do this happen? Please tell me.
I am trying to make 2 clones of the same sprite move towards each other, but at the same time I am also using a camera system to allow the player to move around and see the whole playing field. But due to the camera, I can really only use Change X and Change Y to make the clones move. I am having trouble having the clones move towards each other because of this, does anybody have any idea of how to make it so they move towards each other?
