Your secret language is good but there is a problem . What about z ?
when green flag clicked
ask [What about z?] and wait
Opps.. I forgot
Z → b (ye “a” is vowel)
U forgot something: any constant before a vowel (d,h,n,t,z) is changed into the next constant (f,j,p,v,b)
While vowels are converted into the next vowels

So, that phrase in secret language is: Csu qmieti gummu• nz qsugomu epf tvafou
Thanks for answering my question . I am following you so pls follow me too .

I barley use scratch forums but alright-
The thing i have been planning outside of scratch is an animated indie series called “HEAFUR”. Is not that much of a biggie bc yea, it's just about some beastmen in a futuristic city with a sci-fi horror theme (yeah it's debating to be either 13+ or 16+ who knows. I'm sorry lol idk if meantioning that is against the guidelines). It's not out yet because i am still planning it and will prob come out after 2026. So if you guys wanna learn more let me know.

Hey guys let’s not start an argument. I wouldn’t think new scratchers would want to se an argument.

And also, please don’t quote me and say “ITS NOT A ARGUMENT” or something related because I may think it’s an argument.

Thankyou notes (may be added to in the future, we'll see)

First of all, I know that if you read them all I’ll probably sound repetitive and I’m sorry for that, but it’s kinda true that everyone here is kind and amazing. I’m also sorry if you look and you’re not here, everyone in SWC is amazing and I hope someday I’ll get to know all of you well enough to write thousand-word thank you letters to at the end of the session <33

My wonderful leaders! (@iinspirqtion, @Xx_Hermione_xX, @starr-light)

Thank you so much for an amazing session! You created such a fun and memorable cabin, and even if we didn’t escape the woods, we got close. The storyline and activities were very cool and the overall aesthetic was great. Apart from the cabin, you were all such wonderful, kind, and engaged leaders and great people, and I’m excited to see what sort of cabins you might be leading in the future and to get to know you better .

All my many cabin mates!

You guys were great! Thanks for holding down the fort during cabinwars (why am I never online for them :sobs and helping try to escape the woods… we will someday, I’m sure. Until then, honestly, you guys are pretty great people to be stuck with.

Nova (@Novanuhea123):

Thanks a lot for eating our cabin T-T. You’re a very creative and funny penguin- I mean person- um anyways, I’ve loved talking to you this session (and it's been fun messing with you). Don’t worry though, I’m not actually going to take over Mythsy. Probably.

Tilly (@sweetcakefamily):

Hello my fellow Discopain member -yes yes I know that’s not this session, but still- You’re super fun, and SWC wouldn’t be the same without you. Thank you so much for your wonderful interview, you were super fun to work with, and just in general you’re a wonderful person . I hope to see you in many future sessions.

Bella (@-Wraiith)

I know you’ve been dealing with a lot this session, and I just want to say that you’re amazing and cool and kind and SWC wouldn’t be the same if you weren’t here with us <33

Poppy (@PoppyWriter)

You’re very funny and kind and a great leader (even if you weren’t mine)! I hope someday you get over your fear of cows, they can be really adorable, and I thank you for all the words you’ve added for me and your dedication to camp!

Chloe (@smartypantschlo )

You’re apples sure stirred up a lot of trouble… I’m still not sure if I have any sideeffects from the one I ate, but I guess I’ll take your word that it was a normal apple. You started something cool which I think is amazing, and you’re very funny and kind! I hope to see more of you (and maybe also your apples) in future sessions .

Thank you notes || 784 words

To all of SWC:
Every session is better than the last thanks to this awesome community that I’m so grateful to be a part of <3 Reading your stories, watching the frying pan thing come to life, working with all of you to defeat Balrogurtle, I had so much fun and I want to thank you all for being the funny, wholesome, friendly community I’ve come to know and love!

To the tyrants:
Thank you for bringing yet another session of SWC to life, and keeping it running no matter what we wound up throwing at you <3 Also, the Balrogurtle thing was certainly an adventure and I think that it’s so awesome that you were able to pull something like that off! I hope you all get a well-deserved break ^w^

To the Daily Team, QUAILS, MBC, Writing Comp panel, and all of the other kind of secret behind the scenes people:
Y’all keep SWC running, and I thank you for that! I can only imagine the work that goes into running all of that stuff, and I can only imagine the discussions you are having behind the curtain about how much time to give people for extensions XD I’m so excited to see everything that you’re creating as we finish this session out, and I’m grateful for all of your hard work <3

To the cabin leaders/cos:
Every session I continue to be impressed by the sheer variety of what you come up with, and I loved visiting your cabins! You also had such epic matching profile pictures they were awesome I respect y’all’s art and Canva skills- thank you for making this session so unique!

To Thriller:
You guys were EPIC I LOVED THIS CABIN SO MUCH- I’m reflecting on everything we went through together, making our way to the top of the leaderboard (which- wow- I’ve never done that before-), and wow there’s so much! Ayla and Violet, thank you for doing those class roleplays with me, and Clev, you were a joy to share a cabin with (Griller ftw >:3)! Artemis and Wild, I will always respect you for single-handedly beating those middle-of-the-night wars, you definitely saved us a couple points XD I had a blast this session and I hope to hang out with you all again in the future!

To CJ:
Honestly I’ve always respected you, considering how your cabins are like always on the top of the leaderboard and you manage to find your way into my cabins for all those lovely wars- and being in one of your cabins for the first time was fantastic! I adored the cabin theme and storyline, as a roleplayer and bug fanatic, and you’re super friendly and supportive and I appreciate that <3 Also my pfp was absolutely worth the wait and I’ll be sporting it for a while hehe :3

To Rockie:
ROCKIEEE we meet again haha (I still am forever indebted to you for you pulling me into my first co-leader position a few sessions ago :3) Thank you for being a lovely butterfly leader and just being your epic, friendly self! I hope to see you around next session <3

To Poppy:
Oh my gosh Poppy I had so much fun with you this session- thank you for being there when I was freaking out about Balrogurtle and helping me out with finishing that story! And I had so much fun chatting with you afterwards and getting to know you, that was fantastic! Feel free to say hi whenever, and I’d love to Hadestown fan with you or practice Spanish if you’d like! DD

To Bookie:
I know we’ve known each other for a long time but wow I really got to know you this session and I’m so, so grateful for that <333 You’re such a lovely, supportive person and oh my gosh I really needed you in my life- getting to roleplay with you was epic, thank you so much for giving me that opportunity! Please chat with me whenever you’d like, I’m so glad to have you as a friend

You all are epic, seriously- every single one of you who bothered to reply to a comment of mine, or write a side story for my sanity, or try to figure out the Gurtle story word count, or give me motivation mangos, or passive aggressively try to move into my hobbit hole (Squidy I did not forget about that smh-), I appreciate you so much, and you brought a little warmth into my sad heart :’)

…If I had time I would write more personal thank yous but it’s almost midnight qwq I’m going to miss you all so much! Please come and say hi! Please!!! I swear I don’t bite!!! But otherwise see y’all in July!
Looks good!
As a suggestion it's likely not gonna be changed tho.

Why is the cloud variable of my game kept getting reset to old values when the game is reloaded by browser reset?

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/992150436/

Update: The issue has been resolved. With the assistance of MrKingofScratch, we identified that the introduction of the new cloud variable feature more than 12 days ago has altered the behavior of cloud variables. Specifically, cloud variables can no longer retrieve values stored by the last record. Instead, when a project is reloaded, it reverts to the cloud value saved at the last save point. This change impacts the functionality of high score features in Scratch projects, rendering them inoperative.

Hello! This is a great story - I really like how the first part very clearly shows the king's role and personality; things like ‘he enjoyed watching him squirm’ and his certainty that the dove is for him are really great. I also liked the dialogue and how it shows the characters' relationships. I also love the part in the middle, from ‘hey, psst, hey you…’ (although I found it a bit confusing. Who is speaking, who are they speaking to, when is this? Is it some kind of author's note?)
I thought you could work on showing emotion in your characters. You can tell the character is feeling something by what they're doing, but how are they feeling? It feels a bit distant with only the things the characters are doing. This is great with the iron king - he doesn't really feel anything, and when he does, it's slight. But with Alezeo, there needs to be some kind of connection. How does he feel when he is allowed to be a monk? Does his heart skip a beat? Is there suddenly energy in him? Show the reader his emotions.
As well as this, the reader only knows Alezeo's… powers? at the very end, in the letter. This might be intentional, but the only other thing I get are the soft moon sparks. (And the message in the middle. If you made this clearer, it would potentially solve this.) I barely even know he's much different from everyone else until the end - the monks' power could perhaps be shown earlier? Alezeo's difference - at all, not just the specifics - almost seems like a plot twist in the letter.
In the part where Alezeo is shown to the iron king, he shows an odd amount of emotion - at least to me. One moment, he doesn't care about an important symbol unless it's for himself, the next he takes a child as his own just because of the place he found him? I think you could do with explaining the value of his ancestors and land more.
Other than that, I think your story was great! This was a broad overview, so I hope you can find the places I thought needed work. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thank you!

There is a semicolon at the bottom of every page. As far as I can tell, that's it unfortunately.
I think that's automated because a few days ago, I saw a script in the html code of a page on the forums that went something like this:
const date = new Date() // gets the current date
if (date.getDate() == 1 && date.getMonth() == 3) {   //checks if it's April 1st
document.write(';') // adds the semicolon?
}

// date.getMonth() returns numbers from '0' - '11' so April is '3'
// I don't know if it actually does the thing because AFAIK document.write() deletes the whole page

So, unless other features are also set on local time, as soon as the date in your computer changes to April 1st, only the semicolon will appear.

Also, as I'm writing this it's 10:35, so I'm technically 5 minutes late for AFD. Moment of truth…

This article is about how to make a basic platformer. For a more advanced physics tutorial, see Advanced Platformer Physics. For scrolling platformers, see Scrolling Platformer Tutorial.

A platformer is a simulation of actual physics that take place in real life. Objects fall, move, slide, jump, and bounce, and a platformer associates those properties into a game in which one controls a character and tries to move it toward a goal. This tutorial will explain how to make a basic platformer.

Creating the Platformer Sprite

The platformer sprite is the avatar controlled by the player. Its appearance can affect gameplay slightly, depending on the angles and size of its Costumes. For example, a character shouldn't be saved from a fall because the brim of her hat snagged on the edge of a cliff. Sprites that are animated by lots of costume changes are even more tricky, as a changing costume might get pulled inside the ground and get stuck.

Below is an example of a simple script for a platformer sprite. It uses two variables:

“X velocity” stores a value representing the sprite's horizontal speed. It was set as a local variable by checking the option “For this sprite only” in the creation dialog. This means (i) the variable can only be changed by scripts in the same sprite, (ii) the variable name does not needlessly clutter the variable pane of other sprites, and (iii) the same variable name may be used in other sprites without causing conflicts.
“Gravity” stores a value reflecting the strength of the sprite's tendency to fall. In this example it is set as a negative number because moving a sprite downwards requires making the value of its Y position smaller. “Gravity” need not be set as a local variable; a realistic game would subject all its characters to the same gravitational force.

Making Levels

Colors can be used in a platform for detection of the end of a level or an object which sends one back to the beginning of the level. For this tutorial, assume the following:

The character sprite performing the physics is named “Player”
Black is the color of the platform, or ground and walls, in which the character cannot pass through
Red is the color that sends one back to the beginning of the level they are on
Yellow is the color which must be reached to move on to the next level
Backgrounds are used as levels instead of sprites
Scrolling is not incorporated

Level.png

The shapes do not need to be geometric, but can be organic, meaning an unordinary, inconsistent structure. There can be curvature to the various colors and platforms, which can be used to create diverse, numerous levels. The following image displays an example of some organic shapes being used:

Alt Level.png

When the levels are finished, add the following script to the “Player” sprite:

whenclicked

forever

if

touchingcolor

?then

gotox:

-180y:

-47

relocate to the start

if in contact with the color red

if

touchingcolor

?then

gotox:

-180y:

-47

relocate to the start

switchbackdropto

next backdrop

next level

if at the end of a level

The scripts within the “forever” loop can be merged with the larger physics script shown farther above. Merging the scripts reduces the amount of conditions being checked at once and can possibly make the project more uniform and orderly, meaning the “Player” makes each movement and then checks for the conditions instead of the conditions possibly being checked during the sprite's movement.
Note Note: A condition is a statement that is checked for a true/false response. In the example above, when the sprite checks if it's touching a color, it's checking a condition.

Then add the following script to any sprite:

whenclicked

switchbackdropto

level 1

begin with the first level

Lastly, add the following script to the “Player” sprite:

whenclicked

show

waituntil

backdrop #of

Stage=

amountofbackdrops

wait until the last level is reached

stop

all

Making the Win Background

Last of all, comes the win background. After finishing all the levels in the platformer, something would come up that says something like “You Win!”. Put it as the last costume in the sprite/background. It can be some text in a basic white background saying “You win” or the art can be complex.

What is Flappy Bird?

Imagine just a simple mobile game that took the world by storm, becoming an overnight sensation that garnered 90+ million downloads. That is the story of Flappy Bird.

flappy bird scratch

The game was developed by Dong Nguyen, a game developer in Vietnam, in approximately 2-3 days. Surprising, right?

The main character ‘Faby’, the bird, has to fly without being hit with the pipes. In this game, Faby automatically descends and only ascends when you tap on the touchscreen/space bar on the keyboard.

This arcade game has a straightforward interface. The game’s pipes were suspended at varying heights with equally sized gaps between them, like this:

Not only this, but the game was also easy to play. Each successful passage through the pipes earned you a point. But any collision with the bird means the game ends.

The most interesting fact about this game is that after nine days of release, Nguyen took Flappy Birds down from all platforms because it was too addictive and had compulsive effects on some people!

Now, different versions of this game exist, and today, you are going to make your version using Scratch coding!
How to make Flappy Bird on Scratch

To create this iconic game, we’ll use the Scratch editor. Before we jump into creating, let’s plan our game.

Think about what could make this game stand out from the original version. Think about the main character. Do you still want it to be faby? Do you want to add another animal instead of a bird? What do you want the backdrop to be?

Decide on the main theme and elements you want to include in your game.

Step 1: Backdrop

Every great thumbnail needs a fantastic background. In Scratch coding, we can use the Stage as our canvas. Click on the “Stage” icon at the top to open the Stage editor. Choose a backdrop that matches your project’s theme. It could be a starry night, a beautiful landscape, or anything related to your idea!

Scratch programming

As we are going with the traditional Flappy Bird game, we will go for a solid blue background.

Step 2: Adding characters

Now, let’s bring our fabby to life! You can create your sprites (characters) from Scratch or choose from Scratch’s vast library of sprites.

Click here to download Fabby on your desktop.

Go to the “Choose a Sprite” button and click on “Upload a Sprite”. Now select the bird.png image from your desktop.

Now, this is what my console will look like:

Step 3: Sprite Code

Now, this is where the magic happens. We want that whenever we start the game; the bird keeps falling down until and unless the player presses the space bar.

It’s just like how gravity will make anything fall down from the sky. To apply this gravity effect on your Sprite, make the following code block:

how to make a flappy bird game in scratch

Whenever we click on the “Green Flag,” the bird goes down.

We are done with one part of the logic. The other half states that whenever you press the spacebar, the bird should fly up.

Now, let’s add this code snippet to your sprite:

how to make a flappy bird on scratch

Together, our two code blocks will make the bird fly:

Kudos for getting this far! Let’s add some obstacles now!

Step 4: Adding Obstacles

Let’s add some pillars, or whatever obstacle idea you have in your mind. To download the pillar image, click here.

Just like you added the bird to your project, add this pillar too.

Now, click on the costume for this pipe, and make a duplicate. You can do this by clicking on the pipe, and pressing “Ctrl + c” and then “Ctrl + v”.

how to make flappy bird on scratch

Then, press the “Flip Vertical” button as shown and arrange the pillars in this manner:

how to make a flappy bird game in scratch

The next step is to make the backdrop move so that our game can proceed!

Step 5: Obstacle Code

You’ve worked hard on your game so far! Congratulations!

Now, let’s code some more. Click on the pipe sprite and add this code block. What this code block will do is add more pipes when the bird flies to the right.

Step 6: Game Over Screen

Now, if the player cannot win your exciting game, you need to end the game and display a new backdrop.

Make a new sprite, click on the costume button and add a simple backdrop. This is similar to what you did above to add the new backdrop. Let’s add this text now:

flappy bird on scratch

We just want this “Game Over” backdrop to show up when the players lose the game. To achieve this, add this code block:

how to make a flappy bird on scratch coding

Step 7: Obstacle Collision

We want that whenever Faby touches any of the pipes, the game must end. For this, we need to add a conditional statement to the Faby Sprite.

You have already added a few code blocks for this Sprite; all you need to do is make a few changes to them:

scratch coding for kids

The last step is to add a scorecard!

Step 8: Score Card

Let’s make a new variable “score:”

Scratch programming

Now, we want the score to increase by one whenever Faby crosses a pillar successfully. But, if the sprite touches any of the pillars, we want the game to end.

Make the following changes in the code block of Faby:

Scratch coding

Now, go to the code block of the pillar and add this code block:

Step 9: Time to Play

Yay! You have just made your Flappy Bird Game and now you can enjoy it to the fullest! Make sure to challenge your friends and family members to play this game that you just created!

Conclusion

Congrats! You’ve learned how to make the fan-favourite Flappy Bird game with your twist.

So I was making a game and I wanted to use animations for my game and when I use the wait block, it dosent work but when I don't use, it works but it fixes on one costume only. Heres the script I used :

if <[(HoldClick?)] = [1]> then
broadcast [FishSpin v]

else
switch costume to [FishEquip v]
end

else
switch costume to [Noob v]
end
end
end

switch costume to [FishSpin1 v]

Yeah, that's kind of what the comment I wrote said.
*Me realizing that there's a comment that says this sprite only* XDD

IG if I missed it someone else could've also missed it too. Not setting the variable to for this sprite only breaks the whole thing, so it's important that people don't miss that step. MB though for reposting, I totally missed that comment. (to my knowledge there is no way of deleting posts)
Guys I have a theory

I haven't kept up with any Ninjago news in a while lol. It's nice to know that season 2 is dropping soon. But since I don't have netflix, idk when I'll be able to watch it
Some episodes were leaked in German (just another day in Ninjago…), and I've seen a few spoilers around it. It looks awesome, but with me trying to finish school and go to uni, I don't know if I'll be able to see it.
Eh, I'm not really hyped, my hype for NINJAGO basically died after Crystalized. Sure, I'll watch it, but I never really found the same hype again
Please don't post the same question twice. Instead, you can “bump” your thread once a day (post anything, usually the word bump to bring it to the top of the forum pages). Only do this once a day, or it could be considered spamming.

Anyways, I answered your question on your other thread with the same question:
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/7895239/
I found this while watching a video of Mayonnaise on an escalator (dont ask):

This is what I see in my nightmares.
Edit: I watched like 3 seconds of it, and my brains turned into mashed potatoes

Oh, it isn't? Then, why would Scratch add a recoloured Scratch Cat?

Itch Cat allows the young minds of Scratch users to benefit from it's addition!
For instance, a cat resembling Scratch Cat with a distinctive mustache could become an iconic mascot for the Scratch Foundation. It would enhance brand recognition and make the foundation more memorable to users, educators, and donors! Also. cats are often associated with curiosity, exploration, and playfulness—qualities aligned with Scratch’s ethos. The mustache adds a touch of sophistication, making Itch Cat memorable and approachable.
I think it should be redesigned if you want to be serious. /lh
Reminder: Please stop trying to loophole your way out of the ban. The forums are for serious discussion.
Huh? This is suggestion as serious as a very serious thing! I mean, it's in the title. The design is meant to be playful, such as the already existing “Scratch Cat!” My mind's already set on it.
