Here is a project that I've seen do it since the code does not work.

I can't really figure out how the project poster actually did it - but here.

Here is something for the Gacha, I made a quick design and some simple randomization code + an entrance, nothing else tho really. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/987078206/

Hey guys!

I'm still fairly new to Scratch's vector editor. I know that using the reshape tool allows me to edit curves using handles, which is super helpful. It seems that by default, each point's handles are parallel (though they don't have to be the same distance from each other). However, on several occasions, I've noticed that the handles will “disconnect” from each other - that is, I can move one handle without it affecting the other. When the handles are disconnected, I'm able to maneuver curves into a point, which is different from setting the point type to “pointed”. It's pretty neat.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to do it on purpose; every time the handles have disconnected like that, it's been an accident. I can't replicate it, nor can I reconnect the handles (make them parallel and dependent on each other again) once they're disconnected.

I figured there must be something I'm doing to trigger it. But for the life of me, I can't find anything that even mentions disconnected curve handles. I would greatly appreciate any help!

Also, I know people really hate duplicate posts, so I'm really sorry if this has already been asked somewhere. I tried to do research beforehand and was, as I said, unsuccessful. If an answer already exists, please forgive me and point me in the right direction!

Thank you very much!!

Yeah because it’s efficient.

It’s quick and shows each character. Also I still need help with that panel.

Should I share the script so far?

Chapter 1

Russia stared at the computer as it was analyzing his scores. It made a loud bing and a screen appeared. “Yesssss,” He said pumping his fist as the computer read out his score. “You got 100% on the math test, good job!” “Like always,” he said grinning and pushed his chair back. The computer dinged again and lit up with a screen. Pop quiz, like always. What are all the countries on earth? Hint, there’s only five. “Indonesia, Italy, Ukraine, Canada, Australia,” the screen flickered out and came back up with another 100. He wasn’t surprised and and brushed his black bangs out of his face and trampled down the stairs to find his mom also on the computer. Her glasses reflecting the bright screen.
“I got a 100 on the math test again!” Russia said excitedly, although it was nothing new. Test after test after test he got 100, there was only one occasion where he got a 99 but that was becouse he forgot to put his name down.
His mom was still staring at the screen when she replied, “That’s great honey, could you leave me alone for a bit? I have to concentrate otherwise I’ll miss something important.”
Russia wilted, “Ok mom, I’ll go outside.” He said disappointed. The door made a loud creak as he opened it. He stepped out on the wet grass and found an envelope in the mailbox. “Huh? We never get mail.” Russia said to himself. What was even stranger was that the envelope read out to Russia Milborn Swahili. “Well guess it’s mine,” he sighed opening it.
The envelope had a golden border with the word math sprawled on it. The letter inside was a plain white page that said you have been invited to math camp in Stoneville! “Wow,” he gasped, then started hopping from joy. He sprinted inside the house and waved the letter “Mom, mom Ive been invited to a math camp!” His mom was still on the computer and she paid no attention to what he said. “Mom look,” Russia said shoving the letter in her face.
“What’s this?” She said squinting, “Oh a math camp, you can go honey.”
“Yessss,” he said. Pumping his fist for the second time that day. “It says that we go tomorrow so should I start packing my bags?” He questioned. His mom took a long time to reply. Clicking the mouse a few more times till she said “
“Yes honey, go pack your bags.” He dashed up the stairs and threw some clothes in the bag. The sun was going down and it was about time for dinner. Of course Russia always got takeout. His mom was terrible at cooking. He zipped up the suitcase and went to ask mom for food.

Japan sat impatiently on the bus waiting for it to start. Tapping her finger against her pale skin. Her long blonde hair sweeping in front of her face She must have arrived early Becouse there was only 5 other people on the bus. Three boys and two girls, including herself.
“Hey rando come over and have a seat with me! You look lonely.” She yelled at the other girl waving her arms to snatch her attention from the book she was reading.
“Huh?” The girl looked up from the book confused, her brown bangs covering her glasses. “Who called for me?”
Japan sighed, “Me you doofus, now get your butt over here.” She shouted. The girl got up, clutched her book to her chest, and stumbled over.
The girl sat down with a loud “Ooof, these seats don’t have any cushioning at all.”
She laughed, “I have never found a bus in my life that had nice seats.”
“Me neither,” the girl agreed, “My names Germany what’s yours?”
“Japan,” she replied. The bus lunged forward as it started to move. It made a slight rumble as the engine worked. “Are you excited for martial arts camp?” She asked, waiting for Germanys reply.
Her face changed into complete surprise. “Martial arts camp? I was told it was an engineering camp.”
“Wierd, you sure your parents were not Lying to you?” She said, wondering what Germanys parents were like.
“No no they are super nice I don’t think they would lie to me.” She chuckled attempting to cover her unease that was obviously there.
“HEY STOP IT,” one of the boys in the front screeched as another boy was pinning his hands behind his back.
“Then you say sorry right now for trying to trample me while we got on the bus,” the other boy hissed.
“BUT I WAS’NT I WAS JUST GETTING ON AND ACCIDENTALLY BUMPED INTO YOU I SWEAR!” The other boy whined his strawberry blonde bangs slicked with sweat.
“What is going on back there?” The bus driver said, Turning the mirror.
“Shoot,” the boy said that was just pinning the other. When the driver looked away he got up in his face his brown hair brushing the boys skin, “You listen to me France, mess with me again and I will become your worst nightmare, you understand?” He pointed his finger menacingly at the boy.
“Y..y…yes sir,” the other boy gulped and sighed with relief when the boy sat down.
“Who was that?” She asked glancing at Germany.
“I think the brown haired guy was named America and the other named France.” She shrugged.
“Ok then, we might be in for a long trip.” Japan brushed her hair from her eyes and sat down.

Chapter 3
~~~~~~~~~
France woke up with a jolt as he found that the bus was stopped in a forest with beautiful oak trees swarming around the bus. Everybody was getting up and moving out of the bus so he followed. This was so exciting. He had never been to a science camp before. What would they do? Explode things? He stepped out in the damp mud, the forest would be eerily quiet if it were not for the two girls chattering away like birds.
“Hey chatterboxes shut it, the whole forest can hear you.” The one of the boys said. His name was America. How did France know that? Well when he got up close and personal with him he saw he was wearing a metal necklace that read America.
The girls glared at him. “I’d like you to try being quiet in this spooky forest, there is barely a sound so might as well make some. And by the way, the names Japan not chatterbox.” Then she went back to talking. Soon enough the group came across a strange clearing. There was not any grass only dirt and it looked like something was supposed to be there. “AHHHHHHHHHHH,” one of the girls screamed. France whorled around to see an unconscious man in a black suit on the ground and Japan breathing heavily.
“What was that?” He asked panicked. He glanced around to make sure there was nobody else hiding.
“That was one of our agents, he thought that you all were intruders. Apparently the news never got to him about the program.” A voice sounded behind them. The kids turned around confused to find a man, he had no stubble and his hair was slicked back with so much gel. It looked like if he shook it that it would drip down his face. He wore a black suit and tie with a white shirt underneath.
“Yes, I know, you may be confused as to why I’m here. You see, you have all been invited to various camps, martial arts, science, math, engineering, and grammar. But that is nothing of what this camp is.” Japan gasped and another boy looked sort of sad. The other girl looked betrayed and America pumped his fist in excitement.
“Then what is this camp?” Japan asked, crossing her arms, she did not look very amused by the news.
“You have all been raised in secret towns that were kept under high surveillance, you were all homeschooled with government programs for the smartest people. Your mom’s sent you to various fighting clubs so you would be ready.” The man said, the speech sounded like he had rehearsed it over and over in a mirror. He turned and walked away. The rest of the group stood there in silence.
“Are you waiting for the grass to grow? Come on, camp is this way.” The man gestured, still walking.
America shrugged to the rest of them and they all trotted ahead to catch up with the guy.
Chapter 4
~~~~~~~~~~
Germany sighed as the group walked for what seemed for an hour. “Is it not weird that all of our parents lied to us?” She commented, the other kids shook their heads.
“Yes you’re right, why do we get put into all of this stuff why do we not get a normal life like it seemed back in our towns.” Japan replied, she had this sort of aura of stubbornness and frustration that seemed to make her words twice as relevant.
“We don’t even know any of the other kids in the group, no offense.” One of the boys chimed in
“None taken how about we introduce ourselves?” Germany said, her feet were weary from the walk but she tried not to let it show.
“I’m Russia,” the boy piped in, his black bangs slicked in sweat.
“Germany,” she said.
“France,” the red headed boy said.
“Japan,” Her friend said.
“America,” the last boy grunted. “I’m not here to make friends by the way, I’m here to learn what ever I have to do and get out of here.” He said twiddling his thumbs in a way that showed a bit of nervousness. The rest of the group glared at him while France shrunk back. It seemed he was trying to make himself seem smaller. Made since from the way he got treated by America on the bus earlier that day.
The rest of the walk was in silence until they came across a roaring waterfall. “HOW COULD WE NOT HEAR IT FROM BEFORE,” she hollered, hoping they could hear her.
“I HAVE NO IDEA,” Japan replied, looking like she was screaming her lungs out in exasperation
“What the-“ Germany said, confused at what she just saw, the strange man had apparently disappeared through the waterfall. “I THINK WE MIGHT HAVE TO GO IN.”
“BUT IT MIGHT BREAK MY EARDRUMS,” France whined.
“STOP BEING SUCH A BIG BABY,” Japan yelled back. Wiping the water droplets that had splattered on her face. She started slowly walking backwards.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING!” Russia yelled, his face looked panicked
Japan started sprinting, heading for the waterfall. She plugged her nose and dived into the water fall
“JAPAN!” France hollered, “WELL SHES GONE WHOS NEXT?” The group looked around at the remaining four members. Suddenly America grabbed a hold of Frances torso and held him like a spear. “HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING,” He screamed, a mix of wanting to be heard and fear. America started running towards the water fall and hurled both him, and France into the waterfall.
Russia and Germany just stared, “Looks like we’ve knocked two birds out with one stone.” Germany said.
“Looks like I’m going in.” She backed up and tried to imagine the waterfall as a target and she was an arrow shooting into it. She started to dash, picking up speed as the waterfall started getting closer and closer, she braced for impact. BAM and the cold water hit her, she landed on a soft pad and laid there for a moment. Winded and shocked she stood up seeing the rest of the group waiting.
She heard a holler behind her and turned around just before Russia slammed into her. They tumbled past the mat and onto the cold hard stone.
“Why hello there,” he said grinning. “C..c..c..can’t b..b..breathe.” She stuttered out. “OH,” Russia said, quickly hopping up. Winded, for the second time that trip, Germany curled up into a ball, “I just want to dieeeee, my brain hurts, my body hurts, everything hurts.” She groaned.
“Well you’re in luck becouse we’re almost there.” The man said gesturing for them to continue following.
Germany got up with a grunt and shook her head of the weariness. She sped up her pace to land next to Russia. “Do you have any idea where we are right now?” She questioned brushing off some of the pebbles that stuck to her soaking wet clothes.
“No idea, I’ve asked people and they all say the same thing, I don’t know.” He shrugged. He tucked a piece of his wet hair behind his ear. “They seriously need to have a better entrance, my ears are still ringing. But I guess it makes for a good alert system, your wet clothes just scream. HEY LOOK THEY HAVE JUST ARRIVED. And is it strange how the guy taking us doesn’t have a single droplet on him?”
She scratched her head, “I have no idea. I’m as confused as you are.” She sighed.

Chapter 5
~~~~~~~~~~
America had speedily walked through the cave, keeping up pace with the guy leading the group. “So when are we getting there?” He asked.
“When we get there now shut, I’m trying to concentrate.” The guy said. He had seem lost in his own world for the trip. Maybe he was trying to remember the path? What did it matter anyways, he wanted to get out of this freaky place even before it started.
“Woah,” Japan said behind him as the light started growing nearer. A hidden paradise awaited them, beautiful lakes folded in front of them, meadows filled with flowers stood in he sunlight. “This is my kind of place.” She whispered loudly to Germany. They both grinned.
“Oh this is not where we are staying.” The guy said, still walking.
“Then where are we staying?” Japan pouted back.
“You’ll see in a minute.” He said glancing behind him to make sure no one had been left behind. He came up to a cave wall and made a series of clicking noises.
“This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen,” said France and then he gasped. The wall started to shake and rumble and in moments it had parted to show… a lesser place. It was a gloomy swamp hidden in the shadows. The reeds looked almost wilted and dead leaves were everywhere. The cabins looked like they were 50 years old and falling apart.
“No way this is where we are staying,” she said through gritted teeth, America couldn’t quite believe it himself.
“Then what was that paradise we just saw moments ago?” He sneered, pouting in anger of what was just out of reach.
“That was are resort for the higher leagues.” They stopped at two cabins,”Girls go to the cabin on the left, boys go to the cabin on the right.” He pointed. America slumped as he made his way over to the cabin. The government had all the funds in the world yet they didn’t get a cabin better than rotting wood. He walked through the doorway to find it was even worse on the inside. Cobwebs hung in the corners. Holes had been carved out by who knows what. Mud streaked the wooden floor. The layout consisted of three beds, and a mirror. He picked the nicest bed he could find, which looked like it had a burn mark, and sat with defiance.
“C’mon America, let’s go get our bags.” Russia gestured for him to follow. He got up and headed over to the rusty van which barely fit their bags. He hauled his bag over his shoulder, which was a plain army green color, and took it over to the cabin. He found that one of the boys had already claimed the bed he had found.
“Just great,” he sighed then threw his bag in the bed that had, what looked like, stains from a little kid’s accident. This trip couldn’t get any worse
Hello, misty956!
First, create a variable only for the sprite. You can name it anything, but I will name it “health”
Then, make a clone.
when green flag clicked
set [Health] to [3]
create clone of [myself]
Then, that clone has a seperate health system. If you want to go any further with that, let me know.
That is the less customizable way. Here is another approach to it:
when green flag clicked
create clone of [myself]
when I start as a clone
set [Health] to [3]
Andrea could feel a world full of emotion far away. Where the dewdrops smiled while the embers danced. The earth would let out a great big yawn to let the world know it was there. The rolling prairies would be covered in light.
“Andrea, care to join the rest of the class?” Her teacher called out. Andrea was sucked out of her book and felt the cold touch of reality. She covered her face in embarrassment, the white board was laughing at her. She hated it, just a blank slate filled with words that made no sense to her. The class bell gave a shout as the class had come to an end. She sighed in relief and picked up her overweight bag. The bag was in taters and she wished to throw it away. But he’s felt empathy towards it, it seemed to be messed up and in need of care just like her.
The classroom leaked out the rest of the students. Andrea was caught in the rushing river of students. Their chatters, laughs, and tears seemed to overwhelm her. The world was sucked of its color with the students. Snatching it away from her reach. The blank empty hallway whispered at her. What a weirdo, she can’t even handle school it seemed to say. Andrea opened her locker and saw a splash of color. A book! She picked it up and the world whooshed back into color.
The scene seemed to change and she was once again, among the river of students. She inhaled for confidence and stepped into the cafeteria. It had too many bright colors, too many cackles, too many words. The lunch ladies served food of disaster, colored in disgust. The faces of the lunch ladies remained emotionless, it seemed the filter was set onto greyscale. Andrea got into line and closed her eyes. Any moment away from the world was worth it. She was submerged into the prairie in which she longed to stay in.
But the moment did not last. She was zapped once again by the lunch lady. She quickly grabbed a tray as the lunch lady dumped what may have been mashed potatoes or radioactive waste. Andrea slumped back to a table that was empty, except for the gum and food that covered the seats. She did not care for it was to bright to her. And unreal, she reached into her bag and pulled out the book. She opened the book and was submerged. Back into the place she belonged, she felt a tap on the shoulder and whipped around to see another girl. Dimmer than the rest of the room in a soothing way. She wore glasses and had her hair pulled back in a braid.
“May I sit here?” The girl asked, her tone of a sweet spring morning. Andrea nodded and the girl sat down. “My name is Emily, but you can call me Em.” She declared. Then looked over at her book. “Oh! Is that Robert frost?” Emily jumped for joy when she nodded.
“I love his poetry,” she said shyly, then the light changed, into one of comfort and joy. The cafeteria was too bright but she didn’t care for once. “My names Andrea.”
Also, I feel like thread creators should have the right to see their own threads, dupe or not.
If it’s implemented, after a short amount of time I’m sure users will get used to it and know to add the posts to the original topic before it’s dustbinned. Simple.
What I meant is that is how almost the same project shows up every time and it could just be people al coping a few projects.(It would be helpful if someone could find one of the first platformers.)
i know how to make a sprite have health, but i do not know how to get a clone to have its own independent health.
I found a pretty interesting high-level description of BSP which may be helpful for understanding some graphics applications of this algorithm, particularly the concept of “Adjacency, portals and neighborhoods”: https://github.com/rschifflin/bsp
It also contains an implementation in the Scheme language.
Well people will already point out the dupe before it’s dustbinned therefore the scratcher will know.
That's assuming OP had time to view the topic before it got dustbinned - People like me wouldn't have that much free time, but that's just me I guess
Maybe this is a little unrealistic but what if an ST member closes it, and only dustbins it after a set amount of time, and they can have a queue for closed dupes to dustbin later. They manually add it to the queue when they close it.
Eddie, Sawyer(?) and the rest of us can give feedback on the description as people write it.
studio thumbnail/s are Nora, Paladin, myself(?) and anyone else who wants to make one (we can change them throughout the month if we have more than one)
Ilex (plus maybe Nora & maybe Kaleido) might make matching autism-themed profile pictures for studio managers, or something along those lines (eg. a template, a colour palette, art requests, whatever they want to do)
Sawyer + @Explorer075 + non-autistic helpers + anyone who hasn't been active here will continue to be a manager but not contribute to the desc (but I've been checking with other managers via their profile comments if they wanted to contribute)
translations will be from Paladin (French) Eeveesans (Russian), the people we discussed earlier + whoever we can find, and one of us can make a translations studio if we have lots of translations (unstarted)
we want to try and get most of the description finished by this week (before 24 March).
No, it would definitely be more work. More reports to look through.
But it won't be nearly as many reports as actual reports.
Can you guarantee that?
On paper, this seems like a nice idea, but the massive workload and the prospect of false reports doubling this load… This suggestion seems good at heart, but unrealistic
It's really nice that you want to help out with a guide! However, we have a number of them in the forums already and we don't have a good way to showcase any more. If you want to make a guide in a Scratch project, that would be fine. You could advertise it in the “Show and Tell” section too.
There are lots of other ways to help out in the forums too. Helpful Scratchers are always welcome in the “Questions About Scratch”, “Help With Scripts”, “Requests” and other sections. Just look around and ask questions
I will follow all of the scratch community guidelines - I will make sure whoever proposes a project, that it isn’t their project but somebody else’s - I will test their project out to make sure that it follows the community guidelines and how good of a quality game it is - if I add it, I will respond to them with a friendly response to let them know!
I’d love to be able to help!
It was one of those moments, where you can’t be quite sure that you should be happy right now, even though everything around was begging you to be. That is what it was like for her. Just the girl and her fire, surrounded by hundreds of trees, trapping her deep in the forest. But she was careful not to set any branches aflame. Well, the girl was being as careful as she could with her faulty magic.
The fire was dancing around her. And the girl was dancing back. Circling around the fire, she imagined the cheers and chants that used to occur, celebrating at campfires. With these thoughts, the flames rose, and the cheering did too. The girl and the fire were dancing up a whirlwind together, smoke and ashes swaying with them. It was all to the tune of these thoughts, but this magic needed a stronger source. It could no longer feed on the girl, on her mindless ideas and wishes.
Suddenly, that girl’s thoughts disappeared. The fire started fading. But the girl willed it to stay. However, her magic wasn’t strong enough. Making the fire stay was easy, making the fire keep doing what it was doing, dancing, was the harder part. As soon as she wished for the fire to remain, it started weeping. Burning itself out, until slowly, all that was left was a thin trail of smoke flying up to the sky and ashes that followed behind. But those too were weeping, and soon, they started falling down, down, down.
Weekly 003: 1623 words, Spiders
Merry Christmas is a young girl undercover trying to expose some strange happenings at a school in a city for the elites. turns out that things aren’t entirely what they seem, and someone’s been dabbling in things they shouldn’t have…
. Merry C. is assigned to a school after a report of something strange going on in the city occurs. Power outages, glitches, unreliable networks…Since it’s winter, it would look suspicious if she were investigating during school hours, and the organization behind her is fearful of even tiny bits of suspicion. Her false identity is crafted, and Merry C. is enrolled, with a little bit of string pulling. Her cover story is that her family recently moved, explaining her sudden appearance in the middle of the school year.
. Merry’s cover is successful, but no matter how hard she looks, the electricity fickleness is totally unpredictable. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to what’s happening–hackers are baffled, experts are dumbfounded, and no one knows what’s going on. There have been rumors of tech being banned–and things only get weirder when news of a disappearance hits the news. A famous entrepreneur who had been known for his experiments with AI technology has vanished, and the only clues left behind are enormous spider webs covering his bedroom.
. Merry continued investigating, but the organization is starting to talk about pulling her to keep her safe. She protests that she can do it, but then she’s woken in the middle of the night by something clacking in a corner. Keeping her cool, she switched on her flashlight, but saw nothing. At least, not until she shined it in a corner and saw the same giant spiderwebs that had been found covering Killigeree’s bedroom (the entrepreneur). Something’s out there, and it’s after her. She’s about to call backup when the flashlight flickers and dies, the clacking returns, and she’s faced by an enormous spider, veined with pulsing blue energy. Merry manages to evade it, and the next day she finds critical evidence in the form of some of Killigeree’s files, which were recovered by the organization. Killigree went a step too far with his AI–going beyond just computers. Killigree wanted to create living things from tech, but his experiments went awry, and now the AI spiders are loose on the city.
. Armed with the information, Merry manages to shut the spiders down, and finds the entrepreneur, who luckily is still alive, although very weak. He’s hospitalized, his punishment to be decided later. It’s a complicated tangle–he didn’t mean to cause harm, but the city is in total chaos, and he knew at least some of the consequences that would happen if his creations got loose. The police round up the spider corpses and lock them away in case they ever activate again, intending to destroy them as soon as they figure out how to safely.
. Happily ever after, right? Except…maybe not quite. Because deep in Killigree’s manner, a cluster of eggs pulses a brilliant blue, and the building has been closed down for later inspection to destroy any of Killigree’s other dubious dabbling. But will they find the spiderlings in time? Or will things spiral once more?
That remains to be seen…
Clue 1: Kilgiree’s disappearance
His disappearance and his involvement with tech should lead the reader to assume it has something to do with him, since the mystery from the start is set around tech malfunctioning. Readers at this point should probably assume that he broke something about the internet, or something like that. It’s not until they find out that he specializes in AI that they’ll be lead to thinking this centers around a rogue AI.
Red herring 1: Schoolmate
Merry has a techy schoolmate, but he’s kind of suspicious! He doesn’t talk a lot, he keeps to himself, and rumor has it he’s a hacker. She’ll suspect that he’s been messing with things and try to follow his “clue,” but in reality, he’s just really shy and while he likes coding, his main passion is video games.
Clue 2: Killigree’s occupation and files
Later, we find out that Killigree specialized in AI, but before he was a computer scientist, he was a doctor. His file will tie this together, and reveal some important clues: the culprits are AI, and Killigree is messing with things he really shouldn’t.
Red herring 2: Killigree has a rival
Giantom Corps. is a well-known computer company, and a long-time rival of Killigree. Merry (and the readers) will theorize that they’re behind the disappearance, and try to discover a reason for the spiderwebs and whether they’re just a red herring to throw the police off track.
Merry flopped onto her bed with a sigh of relief. The school normally had students in shared dorms, but it had only taken a little bit of string-pulling to get Merry her own private dorm, instead of having to share. That would have been really inconvenient for investigating, after all. She lay on the bed for a long moment, trying to relax. Well, as much as a detective could ever relax–and one who wasn’t full grown, either. Sometimes she was tempted to just leave everything to the adults…but then she’d remember how good it felt to solve a case, and she’d shake her head, smile at herself, and wonder how she could ever want something else. Being normal was boring, and Merry hated boring.
She also hated homework, and school had homework galore. With another sigh, this time of boredom, she reached for her math homework and forced herself to try and focus on the textbook.
It was hard, though. The mystery wormed through her thoughts, eating her away. What had happened to Killigree? Where was he now? And how was he linked with the tech malfunctions? She knew he did computer stuff, but she hadn’t bothered to read up on him much–his disappearance had occurred after her initial investigation was outlined, and although the team back HQ were working around the clock to get a file pulled together for everyone on the case, it was still maddeningly slow. She couldn’t wait to get her hands on it. But right now, she needed to keep her cover up, and while Merry Christmas was an accomplished sleuth, Merry C. was a mundane student who excelled in her subjects, although not so well as to attract suspicion.
Merry pouted a bit. Merry C. was boring. But boring was safe, and as antsy as she was, she was just a kid. She couldn’t do everything on her own.
Finally, the enormous stack of homework had been reduced to a few sad pieces of crumpled notebook paper, and Merry groaned as she got ready for bed, stretching her sore muscles, which had threatened to cramp after being in the same position for so long. She shivered into her pajamas–the school had been having problems with the heater, and now the dorms were freezing–and collapsed onto her bed once more, wriggling under the covers and closing her eyes, preparing to get some well-earned rest.
It was midnight when she woke up. Her eyes flew open to darkness, and for a moment she strained her ears, trying to figure out what had woken her. For a heartbeat, she thought it had just been a nightmare and closed her eyes to seek sleep again.
Then the noise started.
Clack, clack, clack.
Her eyes shot open again, and she fumbled for her flashlight, clutching it to her like a safeguard. Realistically, she knew it really wouldn't help if she was attacked, but it made her feel safer somehow. It was a way to combat the dark.
Silence had fallen, but she still took a deep breath and turned the flashlight on, swinging it around. If anyone was sneaking up on her, they’d be blinded by the sudden light.
Nothing. Just her room.
Merry slid out of bed and swung it around a few more times just to be sure, but relief had already taken over. It was just a night sound. Maybe a bug hitting the window and making an odd noise.
Then her gaze snagged on something moving. She pivoted, shining the flashlight on it, heart back in her throat.
Above her, in the corner, gently swinging, hung a giant spider web.
Announcement:
So! All of you probably know that the entire cast needs to sing Ring A Bell for the intro, right? Well, a couple things are being straightened out and clarified:
We're all going to sing the song, together. I'll be distributing the lines according to how the lines will suit our voices, and then I'll let you guys know which parts you all need to sing. Singing the entire new song was daunting, I know, so Emma and I decided to instead have the entire cast sing it together, so less lines sung per person and a funner experience.
And I also need all who know how to sing the harmony to let me know.
I'm still trying to keep my expectations in check but Season One looks really really good.
wait if ruby stepped on the butterfly was there actually a pete
Also… “I will keep her safe.”
Doctor, you keep using that phrase, I don't think it means what you think it means.
Pete?
Pete, you remember Pete. He travelled with Bill and the Doctor until Thin Ice, where she stepped on a butterfly and erased him from existence.
There is no character named Pete in DW.
Hearing a Bowie song in Doctor Who is something I never knew I needed.
Oh! Gotcha.
Why do I get the feeling the over arching plot of Season 1 is Bad Wolf the sequel.
