Usually when this happens, it's with clones. When you broadcast something, it does it for the OG Sprite and the clones. When you use a custom block, it only does it for whichever sprite used the block. Instead, I suggest to use a custom block with “Run without screen refresh” on.

Or try removing the periods and replacing them with a character that your save code doesn't use, that does NOT classify as punctuation- or a word break, such as a “,”, “.”, “!”, “?”, “ ”, “-”, “+”, “=”, “(” or “)”, "“, ”{“ or ”}“, ”/“, ”\“, ”|". Mobile devices often consider these to be the end of a word, and thus don't highlight anything past them.

Also, if all of the segments in your save code are the same length, then you don't actually need a character separating them- just loop however many characters long those segments are.

It's really nice that you want to help out with a guide! However, we have a number of them in the forums already and we don't have a good way to showcase any more. If you want to make a guide in a Scratch project, that would be fine. You could advertise it in the “Show and Tell” section too.

There are lots of other ways to help out in the forums too. Helpful Scratchers are always welcome in the “Questions About Scratch”, “Help With Scripts”, “Requests” and other sections. Just look around and ask questions

This is actually a common enough problem in programming that you can just search “computer pathfinding” and get a load of results. However, the most commonly used algorithm I know of starts at the target (whatever you are trying to move to) and places a square there. This square has a value of 0. It then, on the edges of that square, creates 4 more squares, each with a value of one. If any of the “one” squares are touching a wall, they delete themselves. The one squares then place 4 more squares on their edges, each labeled “2”. If any of the “2” squares are touching a wall or are on top of another square, they delete themselves. This process repeats until a square hits the thing that is trying to move toward the target, upon which the entire process stops. The thing trying to move toward the target then only has to go from the highest numbered square to the lowest numbered square.

Please describe your issue. There are many different ways to program anything, you're going to have to be more specific than just what you typed in the title. What are you trying to do? Evaluate if it is really necessary to your project, and if it isn't, don't make it. Often the solution to a simple problem is simple, so see if you can figure it out first, and if you are still stuck after all that, post something here. Keep in mind that the more information you give us helps.

author's note ( yes, before you read the piece ):
this has been made for a poetry competition that we have at school, which is why i didn't use free verse sob. *cough cough* ( this is because the english teachers at my school think that free verse isn't a ‘real’ type of poetry.

He's gone now, the girl can feel it,
Darkness and melancholy threatens to spill;

It works on a touchscreen device- kind of. (I know because I'm on one right now writing this) If you double-tap a word it highlights it- you can try making the save code all one ‘word’ by not including any punctuation or spaces- numbers work best.

Also, CTRL+SHIFT+click doesn't work on any touchscreen device without an external keyboard.
