The quest for the avocado by -1circle-

The ferns swished around the capybara, he padded around the dry ground for a while until
He spotted a tree, an avocado tree, hanging at the tip of the tree, was a delicious, juicy avocado. The capybara squealed in delight and tried jumping to reach the avocado. He missed so he tried again, and failed. So the capybara decided to try and climb the tree, he scrambled up the tree but slid down and landed back on the ground with a thump.
He growled, this tree was being very rude for not letting him have his avocado. Then suddenly he heard a shrill buzz behind him. He turned around to see a human, wearing a bright yellow thing on his head, holding a machine. The machine whirred and vibrated as the humans hands vibrated. The human creeped toward the avocado tree and jammed the machine through it.
The capybara backed away and heard a snap. Then the tree crashed to the ground and the machine stopped. The human put it down and made a loud noise, most likely calling for its pack. A large machine rolled up to the tree and the human grabbed the tree and hauled it into the giant basket. Which looked like it was supposed to hold it. The capybara barked, mad at his stolen avocado and climbed into the basket.
The tree was very interesting up close, but the capybara ignored it, searching for his precious avocado. He found nothing during his search and the thing had started moving. The wind breezed past his ears as he spotted his precious avocado behind him, left in the ferns. He gave a whine and looked for a way to get out. The basket was moving too fast for him to jump out without injuring himself.
He called for help, but he couldn’t even hear himself, so he lied down in the basket and mourned. He was left all alone without his precious avocado. He closed his eyes, resting his head on his paws, and quickly fell asleep.

The capybara woke up to the cold, where was this place? He sniffed the air, it had a foul, pungent smell. The basket was no longer moving so he hopped out and searched the area. It was an enclosed place, the floor a weirdly smooth texture, he kept on slipping on it as he scrambled to make sense of the area. A large noise came about and he noticed one of the walls of the cage lifting up and retreating from the weird ground. Another human stepped in, a different one this time, and clicked something in his hand. The basket beeped and the human climbed inside it.
The capybara dashed out of the opening in the wall and ended up outside. He was surrounded by a completely different environment, baskets dashed from a long strip of cleared grass to the other side and kept on going. The capybaras ears ringed every time one zinged by. More cages laid in front of him, each one looking the same as the other.
He gave a chirp and then felt something grab him. He squealed and squirmed as he turned around to see a human had picked him up. He tried scratching the human but his paws could not reach. He felt the human brushing him in a way that was strangely comforting. He relaxed and then something covered his eyes. He felt him self moving and was put inside another weird box. His eyes were uncovered and he was inside the basket once again.
He felt a rumble and it took off, it looked different from last time. There was no tree in the back, he whined, missing the avocado once again. Soon, the basket stopped, landing in front of another cage. He felt his own cage being picked up and he was taken inside. The inside was blindingly bright and he squinted. Many different animals were there that he had never seen before.
One of them yapped at him, he tried to copy the sound, sounding more like he had swallowed a bunch of swamp water. The human stared at him for a moment, then she turned back to the other human standing behind a weird piece of broken wall. The two human chattered back and forth with sounds he didn’t understand at all.
He suddenly started moving again, this time they had switched cages, this one had a large piece of wall jutting out of the side. Assortments of human things lined another piece of wall, they all scared him. His cage was plopped down on one of the surfaces and the cages door opened. He scrambled out and immediately slipped on the slick ground.
Another human stood there, wearing what may have been snow, how did the human get it to stick to herself like that? The other human immediately started poking and prodding him. He flinched at every touch and wished the human would stop. He felt some of his fur being smothered in a wet substance and then a sharp pain. He chirped in pain, but as soon as I it started it ended. He turned around to see that the human was holding a weird object filled with a red substance. He chirped again and the human walked away, opening a piece of wall and walked out. What was this sorcery?
He turned to the other human hoping for an answer. She smiled, and cooed random nonsense and pet him. He smiled in delight, relishing the attention.
After a moment, the human had come back. This time holding a long and thin object. It chattered to the other human and after they stopped communicating he was shoved back into the cage again and was taken upon a new place. Another basket! This one had a much larger inside, he was very happy to see it but mad that he could not actually run around. He was put down in the corner and the wall shut, leaving him in darkness.
Time seemed to stand still as it rumbled again, probably to take off to its next destination. Hours seemed to pass until it stopped once again. The wall opened up to reveal a different human from before. This one also picked up his cage, but this time with a steadiness that he appreciated. He saw outside the cage another human establishment. This one was not enclosed but there were some other enclosed cages up ahead.
He was taken into one of them and set down. His wall, once again, was removed and he was free! Or so he thought. A border stumped him where he thought he would be able to run. He shrank, how was he supposed to get back to his lovely avocado now? He sadly laid down on a soft surface and quickly dozed off. Weary from the day.

The capybara woke up to another chirp. His kind! He immediately hopped up to see another fellow capybara hovering over him. They both chirped in delight. But soon enough their fun ended as another human opened the secret wall. He came with another cage and shoved the other capybara in it, he squealed at the human, scared for his friend. He bit the human’s standing thing and he immediately fell over in pain, clutching his standing thing.
The other capybara scrambled over to the corner and barked at the human. His face lit up in fear as he ran out of the wall area, limping. The capybara turned to the other capybara and she showed gratitude. But a familiar scent wafted his nose and he saw the human again. This time carrying a strange object. He barked but before he could bite the human again, he shoved the strange object over his snout, disabling his ability to bite.
He squealed in fear, but was picked up once again and he taken to a basket. But this time free to roam around he quickly tried to run out again but the door shut and he heard a snap as his leg got caught in the magic wall. He panicked, pain pulsing through his leg, the human quickly ran after the capybara. Them both limping, but the capybara was faster, he quickly dashed inside another cage with the magic door still open and hid. The human shrugged from outside and drove off in the basket. He chirped in relief but did not have time to relish it, his leg still hurting like crazy he curled up into a ball and went to sleep quickly.

The capybara was roused from his sleep by many noises, the loud humans calling out very loudly, loud crashes sounded then a bang. He smelled smoke as a group of humans broke into the building. Many of them were holding cages of different animals. The capybara was cornered, he couldn’t flee. He attempted to bark but the object still covered his snout.
One of the humans grabbed him and immediately coaxed him. He relaxed then realized that this human might be evil and attempted to shove his claws into the humans upper standing thing. He flinched in pain and gave up trying to fight. His leg was wounded so he couldn’t do anything.
He felt another sharp pain in his other leg and felt sleep overcome him, he became exhausted and tried to keep his eyes open. Whatever the human did to him was making him fall asleep. He fought the tiredness but eventually succumbed to it and rested his head on the human.

He woke up, finding himself in another white room with a broken piece of wall on the side jutting out. He was sprawled out on it. His leg had been bound up by some weird thing that had the similar texture of leaves. He tried chewing it free of his leg and realized the snout cover was off. He chirped in delight and then resumed trying to pry it off. He failed, the leaf wrap was gripping on to his leg like a lizard to a branch.
He saddened once again, and he thought he was free again. Another human came in and picked him up. He was moved to another room with a dirt floor. He was set down and a round saucer of dry grass lay in front of him. He happily munched on it and lay there for a while, days seemed to pass with this same routine, eat, sleep, eat, sleep. Sometimes he would trot around, running a few laps so his leg wouldn’t grow stiff.
It still hurt until the day it didn’t hurt at all. Another human came in, they held a cage and plopped a piece of fruit inside. He chirped in delight and scrambled inside. The wall closed behind him and he realized what happened. Again? He asked himself, it was brought into another basket and this time it was filled with a sweet scent of…AVOCADO! He panicked trying to figure out where it was coming from. Then he noticed a tiny object producing the smell. He wilted with disappointment for his dear avocado which he so wished to eat. The basket rumbled once again and soon it stopped.
A opening was swung open and the wall of his cage was removed. He quickly sprinted out of the basket and cooed happily to see his home. Even better, he was right next to an avocado tree. Filled with lots of juicy fruits. He turned around to see that the basket was moving again, this time with him not in it. He watched sadly as it rolled away, ready to take on its next adventure. He turned back to the tree and thwacked it with his paw. He heard a thump on the ground beside him and turned his head to see… FINALLY! A juicy avocado lay in front of him. He ran over in delight and started munching on it. All of this work for one avocado, definitely worth it.

Authors note:
If you’ve finished reading this story and wondered if you were truly a capybara for a while, don’t worry! I can explain the events that happened from a humans point of view. So the capybara explanation of the baskets were actually cars. And the pieces of wall jutting out of the floor and walls were counters. The magical wall openings were… you guessed it! Doors. And the place he was at was the vet. When he’s taken to the place where he meets another capybara, he was actually taken to an illegal place where they would sell exotic pets, the snout cover was a muzzle which you probably guessed. And when he was captured once again by humans, they were animal control officers that had heard about the place and the group was rescuing the animals. The place after that was a second vet, where his leg was mended and he was released back into the wild once his leg had fully healed. And that’s it! I’m planning on adding a section where the different humans in the story tell it from their point of views. This story was an awful lot of fun and I finally know what it’s like to write a story about a capybara and his precious avocado!
