I have spent a lot of time working on a recreation of the popular horror game, Five Nights At Freddy's 1. I would love it if some of you guys checked it out and possibly give me some feedback, I'd really appreciate it. From previous cases, I believe that while you can say those 2 words, you cant bypass them, and as the forum filter prevents you from saying them without a bypass, no, you are physically incapable of saying them.

(I think it was because saying it with a bypass would share methods of bypass or something)

Innovation is nice and all, but Scratch still has to remember that not everyone is interested in some unique algorithm that involves college level math which achieves some strange results that you likely won't even understand unless you read 3 wikipedia articles

Apparently there is a new feature on Scratch projects, being a button with clapping hands. What does this do? I'm very confused for it's use.

I’m not that new to scratch since I’ve had it for 3 years (and kept losing my accounts) yet I’m still a new scratcher on this fresh account!! I hope I’lll be able to become a new scratcher soon and I am looking forward to it. Until then I’ll just have to keep coding and creating <3

There Are A lot of kind of projects on scratch with the theme of car sounds, You Can Find Some And look at the scripts or remix the game and make little bit the sound higher or lower.

It's really nice that you want to help out with a guide! However, we have a number of them in the forums already and we don't have a good way to showcase any more. If you want to make a guide in a Scratch project, that would be fine. You could advertise it in the “Show and Tell” section too.

There are lots of other ways to help out in the forums too. Helpful Scratchers are always welcome in the “Questions About Scratch”, “Help With Scripts”, “Requests” and other sections. Just look around and ask questions

A 3D Scratch interface, involving a z-axis in the project stage, could make it easier to create 3D projects. However, Scratch is a language that is designed to be as easy as possible for beginners to learn. The purpose of Scratch is to teach beginners basic programming concepts, which is best accomplished with a 2D interface. Adding a 3D interface could make Scratch more difficult to learn and teach. This suggestion also includes the possibility for virtual-reality “Scratch VR” features, where a lot of the same difficulties come up; for more information, see this post.

1.7 3D Scratch-is outside the scope of the Scratch language.

It would be very cool but it would be too hard to achieve and would be even harder for Scratchers to use
people like Griffpatch could get the hang of it but the younger people would love to code in 3D but it would be

As a junior (not that smol) myself, I also get sad when i see people writing complex code,

maybe,at the start of the project, there would be 4 buttons: code a multiplayer game; single player game; animation; or other. with every topic there would be a new set of blocks 2 play with, such as “player 1” and “player 2” event blocks

and if they do April 1 is in the middle of MOST schools spring break.

Which means there's no problem if they get distracted.
April Fools is one of the major celebrations on Scratch
so a week could make it extra special. Once a year or not
it makes the whole of Scratch to have some fun!!!

Assuming you're not resetting the cloud variable you may be trying to access the cloud variable too soon after the project starts. The project holds another version of the cloud variable which is used if there is no cloud link or the person running the project does not have Scratcher status.

I would allow at least half a second before asking the project to access the cloud variable and certainly before trying to update it.

Here's an example project I made with this. You can look at the code and try to modify it to make your own title. This same method can also be used to make ocean waves, hoverboards, etc.

Note: the “sine x value” variable is related to the x position on a graph. Don't worry too much about this if you don't understand it, but know that it represents how far into the animation you are

But GoK is faster today, and this approach allows its staged move generator to find all MVV/LVA captures with specialized code taking only a fraction of time; in addition, move ordering is better, hence pruning / LMR is better, king ring attacks will always be up-to-date for evaluation. With recent changes, GoK is back to 200k NPS average on my reference board for perf statistics. Scurious 1.3 shows 265k NPS for the same board on ply 5.

When I was young, they told me I was special.
I was strong - strong like a piece of wire, the way that you can mold it any which way you want, and it never breaks, and it lets you. It sits there as you twist it up to make it into something useful, no matter what it should have been before.
The thing about wire is that if you fold it in the same spot too many times, it eventually breaks.
The professor took me by the hand. “You already know, Cadence, that it isn’t common for one your age to have such innate talent for incantation. I know many a skilled magician that couldn’t handle half of this strength, this power that you possess.”
I nodded. “I’ve been told as much.”
“If you keep training as vigorously as you do now, I can hardly imagine the kind of magician you’ll grow into.”
There it was again. Keep training. How many times had I been told that - how many years had I spent following that instruction like an oath?
“You could easily rank among the top palace security.” She sighed, shaking her head. “Even with your ability aside, it’s not as if they have too many people trained in incantation anymore. We’re dwindling, Cadence, by the second.”
I nodded. “I know, ma’am. I’ll keep working.”
She clasped my fingers. “That’s a good girl. One of my finest pupils, only a few years from graduation.”
Only a few years.
“I had better head back to the dorms, ma’am. It’s nearly curfew.”
“Ah. So it is. Go on, then.”
I started out of the room, taking a last look out of the windows at the darkening sky - it was still dusty pink on one end, a color we never saw much around Ptelea.
“Always proud of you, Cadence,” she called after me, and it brought a timid smile to my face as I stepped into the corridor. I was strong, I was compliant, I was a wire bent just shy of too many times.

People like to say that walls have ears. Maybe it’s true; the house hears a lot. And he also hears a lot of nothing.
He’s a cottage - quaint, if you’d like to call him that - on the beach, out where there’s nothing else. The waves lap at the shore, mixing salt and sand and seaglass all together on the empty coast. It’s usually cold for most of the year. When it rains, he feels the way it raps at his roof, and when it’s windy, he feels the way it blows through his shutters. When it stops, it’s all suddenly quiet, and it gets a little too gray and lonely for his liking. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have much of a choice but to wait it out.
In the summer, when the sun makes her annual debut, that one red minivan filled with a charming family arrives in the driveway with the music on max volume.
That’s when he hears again.
And for a month or so he hears a lot. There’s the sound of the children running on the beach - screaming, laughing, not the most pleasant sounds, but not unbearable. There’s the sound of the fire crackling in the backyard as the family makes s’mores when the night is mild enough. There’s the sink running, and the shower, and the electric toothbrushes. The early-morning conversations and the late-night ones too. He hears everything.
And after a month that one red minivan packs itself up and pulls out of the driveway just in time for the sun to go back into hiding.
He’s left alone again, in the cold and the gray, listening to the ocean.

The story I’m currently hoping to start on is called (working title) The Midnight Market. It’s based in fantasy, set in a world where true magic has mostly dwindled from the population. Cadence, often known as the Ringleader, is one of those who has formal training. She runs a traveling night market in the kingdom where many vendors set up shop - with varying degrees of lawfulness, but that’s a problem for another time. As she takes in people who need it, they become less of a business and more of a family. There’s Phoebe, the girl who can talk to ghosts; Rusty, the dodgy salesman; and Typha, the alchemist. As Cadence struggles to support the market and protect her friends from the watchful eyes of officials, she is forced to make some choices that she really would rather not.

Greetings and welcome to Red Rock! I’m your friendly neighborhood vampire, from the Welcome Committee. We’re so excited to have someone new here today. It’s not every day that we get guests - you know, with the vampire stories and all. We’ve had some pretty bad publicity these past few months. But I promise, we’re not all bad. It’s a really beautiful area, and it’s mostly safe.
Look over there - you see those giant stones? That’s where the name of the town came from. They used to be a different color, but the vampire population congregates up there for most of our meals, so Red Rock replaced Gray Rock pretty fast. Gosh, I just love the way the sun reflects off of the stones. It makes me hungry.
This here is the school. I assume you won’t be spending much time inside, but do note that we don’t separate any of the children. We like to encourage interaction between all of them, regardless of vampiric status. However, we do recommend that the human children stay on their side of the lunch line.
Up in front is the town hall. We meet in here every so often to discuss the government. It’s not like we have much, but the meetings can still get pretty heated. Nice building, I know. Just ignore those red spots in front - those are paint - no, really! They got a little messy working on the fire truck lane. Oh, the red spots over there on the statue? Yeah, those ones are not paint.
And I assume you’ll be staying here. The Day Stallion Apartment Complex. It’s mostly populated by humans, but the staff are vampires - the owner originally named it Night Mare, but for some reason she never got much business during that time. I promise, you’ll be comfortable and safe wherever you go in here.
I know you’ve heard the stories, but I truly want to assure you that everything will be fine. Welcome to Red Rock.

“I can see you,” I giggled, looking at my sister’s reflection in the window. “You’re terrible at hiding.”
She sighed, but I could see a trace of a smile stretch across her face. “You got me.”
I turned around and caught her eye. “One more round?”
“Phoebe, we have to go.”
“Please?”
She rolled her eyes and nodded. I could tell she didn’t really mind that much. “I’ll give you twenty.”
“Yes!”
I took off down the street as she faced the wall. “Twenty, nineteen…”
If it was the last round, I needed a good spot to hide. Behind the barrels? No, too obvious. Under that canvas tablecloth? The shopkeeper would definitely kick me out. Beside the shipping crates? Jackpot.
I crept between two of the giant red boxes and hugged my knees to my chest, trying to count in my head. Three, two, one, she must be nearly out of time.
Suddenly I felt a lurch. When I looked up, I saw there was a crane over my head, reaching down for a crate nearby. I guessed I was closer to the docks than I realized. I tried to calculate in my head - it always goes in order down the line, how much time was there until it grabbed one of the ones I was between?
I was sure I had at least another minute. The mechanics were slow-moving and it was at least five crates away. I wanted to stay hidden as long as I could - it was the last round, after all.
Then the ground beneath me shook. I slipped for half a second and hit my head on one of the crates.

When I jolted back it seemed only a few seconds had passed and yet I was a few feet offshore, on the edge of a steamship that was just docked. The leap was too far. I watched the gap widen, bit by bit.
“Phoebe?” called a voice, and it was Evelyn, standing on the docks.
“Evelyn!”
“Wait a second. I’ll get you.”
My sister wasn’t strong in incantation, but the one talent she had was flight. Dad used to say it was because she loved birds so much. I think it was because she was so determined to prove everyone wrong.
I watched as she took a running leap off of the edge. I watched as she floated for a split second. I watched the splash. I watched the ripples chase after our ship, but we were leaving too rapidly.

“Evelyn? Evelyn!” I shouted, making a move as if to jump in. A hand on my shoulder held me back.

The woman in the hat stepped toward me, blue hair blowing wildly.
“I’m sorry, kid. We’re too far. We can’t do anything anymore.”
I didn’t say a word.

“I’m really sorry,” whispered one in the green apron, and they took my hand. I let them, still staring out at the horizon as if I imagined Evelyn would appear in the air, shrouded in the golden sunset that burned into the ashy edges of the sky.

“Evelyn? Are you there? I’m sorry, Evelyn, I didn’t want to lose you.”
“Phoebe?”
I swore there was something shimmering in front of me, I swore I heard her voice coming from the emptiness.
Suddenly, I gasped. “I can see you.”

Cadence sighed. “Fine, you got me.”
“I’m going to let you in.”
She gasped, her back immediately straightening in the chair. “Really?”
“Yes. But I have a condition.”
“Anything.”
“You have to promise me that you won’t lose sight of the market, of who we are. If you take over someday, we’re going to need someone who knows how it works around here - how it really works.”
“You’re going to let me take over?”
“I didn’t say that.”
“You implied.”
“No promises. But if you really want to, then yes, Cadence, maybe someday this will be your night market.”
She stepped out of his office - if it could even be called that, the tiny canvas tent that it was - and onto the street. The sun had just dipped below the horizon and she could feel the evening breeze coming on.
The market was just beginning to take shape around her. On either side of the road, the vendors set up their shop. Big signs, colorful tablecloths, food and items and collectibles - it was truly extraordinary to see the way it all came together.
“This is my market,” she whispered. “It’s going to be my market.”
And she watched as her market bloomed from the ground up.

prompt: hobbit holes

My personal hobbit hole would be cozy and relaxing. You would enter into a smaller room and it would lead off into the kitchen, bedroom, and living room. The kitchen - which would hopefully be able to have a chimney, even though we’re underground - would be probably mostly wood, and the drawers would be so organized. The living room needs a fireplace, because if I’m going for something cozy, that’s a must. There would also be a TV in there because I do need to watch some things even if I’m living the hobbit life. The corners would have tall bookshelves, filled only with actual good books. The bedroom would be comfortable and have a bed and a desk. Across all the rooms I would make sure there was well-crafted interior design; everything needs to match up and look picturesque but still be functional. I’d also fill the hole with candles - deep in the earth you’d want to make sure it smells good.
In addition to the regular rooms, I would have every instrument in the hobbit hole that you could possibly imagine - complete with one or two soundproof rooms, or even a recording studio if you want to get fancy. A hobbit hole would be such a good opportunity for me to get to keep working on my music without bothering anyone, and as an added plus, without anyone else able to hear in general. There would be houseplants everywhere - finally a chance for me to get some! I know there wouldn’t be any natural light, but I could figure out a way for them to get it from some other source.
One other important thing I would need in a hobbit hole is a trapdoor. I would want to dig a hole up to the surface of the earth and put in a ladder or a staircase or something, so that I could get in and out easily without the front door. As much as I would love the hobbit hole, it would suck to be stuck in it with no windows or connection to the outside world other than a front door.
Since the prompt suggested secret passages, I suppose I could add those in. It would always be fun to get between two rooms unnoticed, and could come in handy if I ever get into a Lord of the Rings kind of situation. Something connecting a kitchen cabinet to the floor next to my bed would be much appreciated to get back and forth between the two.

prompt: reflection

Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of memories of the month from SWC because I wasn’t around all that much, but I had some incredible times out in the real world. I went with my school jazz band to an all-day festival, where we got a unanimous superior rating - honestly a huge surprise for me - and I got a certificate for recognition. I had a crazy five track meets, all of which gave me the chance to keep growing and improving, especially as they were my first meets ever, and I definitely did that. I got to win my heats a few times, and made quite a few PRs. I also got a solo in an extracurricular band that I’ve always hoped for, and I’m performing that in just a couple weeks. I’ve worked on driving a lot, especially to and from school every day, but also on weekends with my dad, giving me the opportunity to improve a lot. It’s true that this wasn’t the best month ever - in fact, it was probably the craziest - but I’ve done a lot that I’m proud of and I’m looking forward to keeping it up.

Will focus a bit more on Scratch 3 again, as this is the runtime 95% of users will be running on.
