Hi!

I'm making a new Scratch console (https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/749907/?page=1#post-7880569 for those who are interested) and I want to test out a new function called the Game Discs.

To make a Game Disc though, I'd need to find a game that only uses one sprite, and to achieve that, I decided to ask you what's your favourite one-sprite game and if you could attach a link to it.

All replies are appreciated!
I'm making a game similar to “There Is No Game” I have the demo but I'm bad at coding. Is there anyone who can help me code the mechanics and other things? here's the demo I made: There Is No Game Demo

I do agree with you, even though its not gonna be perfect, as the other sprites are gonna have a little of reaction time, and for example, if its walking, it may stay a bit behind and then catches up, im not seeing a proper solution to that problem other than what @ScolderCreations suggested.

Jokes aside, I feel like the only time you should not allow the mention of somebody is when they are harmful to be mentioned, for example, let's say Scratch cat is a really really evil kitty! He stole 5 bagels from the bagel shop, how evil of him! People could troll people and start spamming “SCRATCH CAT DID NOTHING WRONG” and basically remind that poor bagel shop worker of what he did or whatever else it can cause. However some GD hacker is really not that notable and spamming his name saying he did nothing wrong would just confuse people on who he is.

The power went out right when i posted this so I had to wait for it to come back on this post this!

But a game like this:

So my doubt is how do i make the bullets face the mouse pointer and travelling to it, while going past the mouse cursor up until they reach the edge.

Right now the bullet is very weird and i need help fixing it, the following video will show how:

Thanks for anyone helping me!

P.S: Sorry for using a shortened link, I know most people don't like to use them, but i had to use one otherwise scratch would censor it, if you want you can use those short url previewers so you know you are safe with this link.

Technically yes, but having one sprite versus four is going to make such a minimal difference it’s jot worth your time to compress it into one sprite, unless you’re doing something such as the 1S1S challenge.

One problem that could occur if this is implemented is that order projects wouldn't be able to render correctly due to the aspect ratio change. Another problem is that it would break compatibility with older 4:3 displays
The aspect ratio would be a choice, and not many people use 4/3 displays. Even if they do, it doesn't fill the display entirely (toolbar) and it could just work how it works for 16/9 now: leave blank space.

Personally, he’s my favorite artist, I’d recommend listening to one of his albums all the way through. My favorite is The Search, but if you like TOP you might like Perception better, it’s more chill than the search is (with an exception to the first song) because the search can be kind of aggressive. My favorite albums (in order) are

1. The Search
2. CLOUDS
3. Perception
4. Therapy Session
5. HOPE
6. Mansion

I consider all of the top three to be 10/10 albums though, and it was a tough decision whether to but TS or HOPE higher since their both really good, but not 10/10. Mansion was an easy placement. Easily his worst album. It has some really good songs but it also has his worst three songs on it.
My ranking is:
1. CLOUDS
2. The Search
3. Perception
4. HOPE
5. Therapy Session
6. Mansion

it was an insanely difficult word searching project. the notes and credits (or maybe instructions) said you can ravage the project all you want, if it helps to find the correct word.
what constituted as a “word” was:
  • it must have been in english
it needed to have anywhere from three to 25 letters total
i don't think special characters counted
if the word didn't meet the criteria, or it was the wrong word, it would say (on i think a small banner at the top) “incorrect…” or something to tell you that you are wrong.
i remember it blowing up on scratch, everyone trying everything to find the word.
if you somehow guessed correctly, it would take you on a scavenger hunt through projects made by the guy, with a prize or something at the end. also, i remember not being able to progress after finding the word in the comments (getting into that later) because one of the projects disabled the progression.
now, in terms of what was onscreen, i remember that it had a big list in the middle to the top (maybe making room for that “incorrect…” banner), the rules in the bottom-right corner, and a dialogue box, the same one used in –
ask [what is this project?] and wait
– that block. the dialogue box was used to input your incorrect answer, because it took FOREVER for someone to find the word.
INSIDE the project, there were several things scattered around, a checker with like 20 lists for complexity, and a thumbnail with binary in the back that coded for something like: “SORRY, THERE ARE NO HINTS FOR YOU HERE. GOOD GUESS THO ”. that's all i can remember.

Correct! But be careful:
for i in range(0, 10):
“i” will only go from 0 to 9

You can also omit zero (I'm used to not omitting):
for i in range(10):
The output is the same
But why isn't there a 10? Range is between 0 and 10.
Because when you have a list of length 10, the indexes are 0 to 9, and range() is designed to match that. Use range(0, 10 + 1).

Critique for @Thecatperson19

Honestly, the poem is great! The message comes off well, and the word choice is nice. I feel like the flow is slightly clunky, but that's probably just me.
I think you should stay with the style of the original poet, if it is comfortable with you. But the poem shouldn't be EXACTLY like the one made by the original poet, because that's plagiarism. In my opinion, if you want to improve it, you can try changing a few words and see if it's better. Like synonyms. Or you can change some words. If you want, you don't have to repeat the same words. For example,

“the sighing winds in distant lands,” and “the deep sigh of an armchair,”. You can change that to “The whispering winds in distant lands,” and "the deep sigh of an armchair. This is optional, because repetition can be used to make your poem better. But you can experiment.

Overall, great poem. You can change a few things in the word choice if you wish, but it isn't really necessary. Also PLEASE make sure not to be copying the original poet's poem OR ELSE I WILL STEAL ALL UR MANGOES!!!

Say we have a sprite with multiple clones. When one clone collides with another, or a separate sprite collides with one of the clones, we need some way of identifying the clone that was collided with. We can detect a collision like this:
<touching [ Cloned_Sprite] ?>
However this gives us no way of knowing which specific clone is being collided with.
For example, say we have a physics simulation with moving clones. We can give each clone an “ID” variable, and use a list to keep track of the motion of each corresponding clone. When one clone collides with another, we can use the movement data to transfer force to each clone. What we need is a way to get the ID of the clone that we collided with.
Or, say we have a game with different types of enemy clones. We need a way to identify what type of enemy we have collided with. I would like to use clones of the same sprite, and allow for different shapes and colors in each clone. How can I achieve this?
Pretty much what you said. Clone ID's. Maybe try something like so:

when green flag clicked
set [ cloneType] to [0]
repeat (3)
change [ cloneType] by (1)
create clone of [ myself]
end

when I start as a clone
set [ personal_ID] to (cloneType) //Set the variable personal_ID to a "This sprite only" variable when you make it.
forever
if <touching [ whatever] ?> then
set [ touchingWhichClone?] to [personal_ID]
end
end

This is very simplified but hopefully it helps you!
This solves the problem of colliding with a separate sprite, but what about clone-to-clone collisions?
1. Make a random other sprite.
2. Grab the
<touching [ v] ?>
block and set it to the sprite with the clones then drag it onto the sprite with the clones and drop it.
3. Go back into the clone sprite (you can delete the blank sprite you just made) and put the block into the clones like so:
when green flag clicked
set [ cloneType] to [0]
repeat (3)
change [ cloneType] by (1)
create clone of [ myself]
end

when I start as a clone
set [ personal_ID] to (cloneType) //Set the variable personal_ID to a "This sprite only" variable when you make it.
forever
if <touching [ enemy] ?> then //in this case "enemy" is the sprite with all of the clones. Remember you get this block from the steps above here
set [ touchingWhichClone?] to [personal_ID]
end
end

Hope this helps!
Oh, that's clever. This certainly helps with two clones colliding, and will help a lot. What if we have four clones, colliding in pairs? How do we identify which clones were involved in each collision?

I'm not sure that this is possible in Scratch. If it isn't, I could try to use different sprites. But I would like to avoid this because it can complicate things more. Thanks for your help!
